Chapter 106 The Escalation of Resource Wars Within the Base
Just as Zhou Licheng finished reporting the channel information of the energy core, an urgent call came through the communicator.

It was Li Ming, a defector.

"Su Wanqing, the situation is bad! The special operations team has begun to take over the area around the warehouse, and under the pretext of 'maintaining order,' they are forcibly distributing supplies!"

"The entire base's resource allocation system has collapsed, and it's in complete chaos!" Li Ming's voice was filled with obvious anxiety.

Su Wanqing frowned. She had anticipated that a conflict would break out within the base due to a shortage of supplies, but she did not expect it to happen so quickly, and in such a forced manner.

"How many of them are there? What is their equipment like?" Su Wanqing asked.

"There were at least three hundred men, well-equipped and highly trained. They blocked all roads leading to the warehouse, and no one was allowed to approach without permission."

"There are complaints everywhere in the base now, and some people have even started to clash with them," Li Ming replied.

"Tell them to avoid direct confrontation as much as possible, observe their actions secretly, and report to me at any time," Su Wanqing said calmly.

After hanging up the call, Su Wanqing turned to Lu Zhao: "Lu Zhao, is that jammer you made before still working?"

Lu Zhao nodded: "It's possible, but the effect will be limited. It can only interfere with their communication and monitoring systems, and cannot prevent them from taking over the warehouse. However, using this jammer, we can move more easily amidst the chaos."

“Very good, let’s start now,” Su Wanqing said.

Lu Zhao's fingers flew across the keyboard, and a small device began to emit weak electromagnetic waves.

As the jammer was activated, the surveillance footage of the area surrounding the warehouse began to show static, and communications became intermittent.

"Xiao Ran, prepare fire support," Su Wanqing said to Xiao Ran beside her.

Xiao Ran responded and quickly checked the weapon in his hand.

“We’re going to collect some medical and ammunition supplies, just in case,” Su Wanqing said.

Guided by Lu Zhao, the three of them used the chaos created by the jammer to quietly approach the warehouse.

Although the special operations team had blocked the main road leading to the warehouse, there were many hidden spaces that could be used in the surrounding corners and ruins.

Using the shadows and cover, they successfully evaded the patrolling soldiers and found some medical kits and ammunition among the scattered goods near the warehouse.

"Not bad, at least it can last for a while." Xiao Ran inspected the ammunition in his hand and said with satisfaction.

"Don't let your guard down; this is just a drop in the ocean," Su Wanqing said.

"We must find a fundamental solution to the shortage of supplies as soon as possible."

Just then, a report came through the communicator from Li Ming, a defector: "Su Wanqing, the situation has worsened! The base's high command has started publicly blaming each other, accusing each other of condoning violent struggles! The base is now divided into two camps, and a full-scale war could break out at any moment!"

Su Wanqing's heart skipped a beat. She keenly sensed that the internal conflicts within the base were escalating, which presented them with an opportunity.

"Contact Zhang Jun and Wang Hua, high-ranking officials at the base, and provide them with some information, implying that the opposing camp is plotting to seize their power."

Su Wanqing quickly issued the order.

"What?" Lu Zhao asked, puzzled. "You're going to exploit the conflict between them?"

“That’s right. As long as they fight amongst themselves, we can reap the benefits.”

"Now, what we need to do is fan the flames and plunge them into chaos as quickly as possible," Su Wanqing said.

"This...this is a bit too risky," Lu Zhao hesitated.

"Taking risks? At this point, we cannot afford to take any risks!" Su Wanqing's tone became serious.

"We must seize every opportunity to survive in the end times!"

Li Ming quickly completed his task, relaying the information provided by Su Wanqing to Zhang Jun and Wang Hua. Sure enough, upon receiving the information, Zhang Jun and Wang Hua immediately became suspicious of the opposing camp and began a covert investigation.

As the investigation deepened, they discovered some clues that further solidified their hostility towards the opposing camp.

“I knew Wang Hua was up to no good; he’s always wanted to take my place!” Zhang Jun said to his subordinates at a secret meeting.

"Zhang Jun, don't be too smug! Wang Hua is the same; he's definitely plotting something in secret!" Wang Hua said to his subordinates at a meeting.

Instigated by the two, the internal conflicts within the base escalated rapidly, and soon a series of small-scale clashes broke out.

Looking at the escalating gunfight in the distance, Xiao Ran said to Su Wanqing, "Su Wanqing, are you sure this is the right thing to do?"

This will only exacerbate the chaos at the base and cause more injuries.

"Chaos is temporary; a stable order needs to be built on the foundation of strength," Su Wanqing replied.

"We need to test the performance of existing weapons and ammunition to verify whether there is sufficient firepower to support the subsequent escape plan."

Xiao Ran added, a hint of worry in his eyes. He was beginning to have some doubts about the team's purpose.

"Che, what do you think?" Su Wanqing turned to Lin Che, hoping to get his support.

Lin Che was silent for a while before slowly saying, "I... I don't quite understand. Isn't what we're doing a bit too much of a threat to the stability of the base? We're here to find virus data, not to create chaos."

"If you have any concerns, just say them," Su Wanqing asked.

“I just feel like we’re exploiting internal conflicts within the base to achieve our goals, and that…that makes me a little uneasy,” Lin Che said.

Just then, a cold voice suddenly rang in Lin Che's mind: "Are you questioning our actions?"

"Exacerbating the chaos at the base will benefit our future plans; your moral dilemmas only make us more dangerous."

The sound of the night carried a hint of disdain.

Lin Che clutched his head in pain, trying to stop the sounds of the night from further invading his consciousness.

"Night, what... what exactly do you want to do?" Lin Che questioned in his mind.

"My plan goes far beyond this. You just need to obey orders and complete your mission." Night's voice was cold and ruthless.

Lin Che felt a wave of despair. He knew that he was gradually losing control of his body.

"Che, are you alright?" Su Wanqing asked with concern.

Lin Che shook his head, forcing himself to speak through the pain, "I...I'm fine."

Looking at Lin Che's pale face, Su Wanqing felt a little worried.

She knew that Ye's influence on Lin Che was growing, and if no measures were taken, Lin Che might become Ye's puppet completely.

"Lu Zhao, how much do you know about Lin Che's situation?" Su Wanqing asked.

"I could only feel the consciousness of the night constantly invading Lin Che's mind, but I couldn't stop it."

Lu Zhao replied, "Ye's technology is too advanced; I simply cannot crack his intrusion methods."

"We must find a way to stop Ye, otherwise Lin Che will completely lose control," Su Wanqing said.

Suddenly, a report came through the communicator from Li Ming, a defector: "Su Wanqing, Zhang Jun and Wang Hua's men have started exchanging fire! The base is in complete chaos, with gunfire and explosions everywhere!"

The battle for resources within the base has escalated completely.
