Chapter 315 Special Effects
After handing the items to Quirrell, Josh followed Oswin back to the Glimmer store to discuss the upcoming new products.

Their brief discussion ended after only a few minutes due to the noise outside.

“It must be the sound coming from the shaved ice stand. Should we go check it out?” Oswin was more familiar with the employees of the Weiguang Commercial District, and he heard Quiri’s voice amidst the noise.

"Go and have a look."

As soon as I stepped out of the shop, I could see from afar that Quiri's stall was already surrounded by a crowd.

"Is this shaved ice stand really that popular?" Josh asked in surprise. It wasn't even noon yet, and although there were usually a lot of people, it had never been this crowded before.

"It's not usually this popular; today might be a bit special." Oswin pondered for a moment. He wasn't exaggerating; such a situation was indeed rare.

Before the two even got close to the shaved ice stand, they heard customers inside complaining.

“Nothing sells out as soon as it’s served. Why are you hiding it? It’s not like we’re not going to pay you.”

"Exactly! How come the first few people all had them, but we ran out right here? How do you run your business like this?!"

"There aren't even twenty at most, so why are you discriminating against us!"

"That's it"

"."

Interspersed among them was Quiri's helpless voice: "No, ladies and gentlemen, it's true that we only have a small stock of this product. As you can see, there's less than a whole box. Once it's sold out, it'll be gone. It's not that I don't want to sell it to you."

How can this convince everyone? Everyone wants to drink that lychee ice, but you didn't prepare the goods. What are you doing bringing out this little bit of stuff? Isn't this just tempting people for no reason?

Why should everyone else get to try the new product but I don't?
The scene froze for a moment, until Quirrell saw Josh squeeze through the crowd, and he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Just as Boss Josh and Manager Oswin went in, a large group of people rushed in. Of all people, he poured out a jar of Emerald Lychee Preserves, intending to make a few samples and try to promote the product. This was the business strategy Boss Josh had mentioned.

As a result, after everyone tried it, they all liked it and wanted to eat the lychee flavored shaved ice. There wasn't enough, so the people in front of them bought two bowls at a time. Before they even got to the middle of the line, the cans were all gone.

Then, when the other customers arrived and heard about the new product, they all joined in the commotion, which really put him in a difficult position. If he didn't have it, he simply didn't have it; where was he supposed to conjure it up?

Fortunately, Boss Josh and Steward Oswin heard the noise and came out. Whew~ Quirrell quickly wiped the fine sweat that had appeared on his forehead.

“Boss Josh,” he said respectfully.

Hearing the stall owner call him "boss," everyone realized that he wasn't the real owner of the stall. No wonder he hadn't been able to bring out the good stuff for so long.

At this point, one of the customers, unwilling to give up, mustered up the courage to ask, "Then, boss, do you still have this jade lychee shaved ice? I've been buying it for the past few days; I'm a regular customer."

"Yes, we came all the way from Chaoyang City to buy it."

Josh understood; he hadn't expected that canned lychees would make such a good shaved ice.

Oswin frowned slightly and stepped forward, as if to say something. Josh stopped him. Oswin wasn't the type to do business with a silver spoon in his mouth; if he went up, he would definitely tell them to come back another day, which wouldn't be good.

"Don't worry, everyone. There are still plenty of canned jade lychees in stock at the farm. We're sure we can meet everyone's needs today. It's my fault for not arranging things properly. I'll have someone go back and get them right away. Please wait a moment."

As she spoke, Josh told Querry to go back to the farm and get a few boxes of the stored Jade Lychee canned goods, and that she could look after the stall herself.

"Okay, I'll go get it." Quirrell mounted his swift ostrich and galloped towards the farm.

"It'll be quick, everyone please be patient. We'll give you extra portions later," Josh said with a smile, trying to calm everyone down.

Oswin was a little puzzled. "Why bother Josh? The shaved ice is selling well. It's fine if they come back tomorrow."

Josh shook his head: "I'm not doing this because I'm afraid of losing these few customers. I'm just curious why they like the shaved ice with lychee so much. I want to talk to them about it. Customer needs are the direction of our future research and development."

Upon hearing this, Oswin understood somewhat; no wonder Josh had stopped him earlier.

After the two finished their whispered conversation, Josh took the initiative to ask, "Why does everyone like the lychee flavor so much? Don't you all think the other flavors are pretty good too?"

Josh was a stranger, but she looked young and had a kind face, so everyone spoke to her politely.

"At first glance, this doesn't seem to differ much from other flavors; they're all delicious. But after savoring it carefully, the emerald lychee shaved ice leaves a cool sensation in your chest, dispelling all the stuffiness and dryness. It brings a refreshing feeling to those of us who are traveling under the scorching sun."

"Yes, I've tried your other flavors, but even the best bitter candy mint flavor doesn't have this coolness. It's so refreshing."

What? Josh raised an eyebrow in surprise and glanced at Oswin. How come we didn't notice it when we were eating?

Oswin looked puzzled and was about to ask.

"Haha, didn't you guys notice?" It was the same guest who had been talking to Josh earlier.

Josh smiled sheepishly and asked curiously, "We ourselves have tried it, and we really couldn't taste the difference. What's going on?"

“You’re not exposed to the sun, you’re not on long journeys, and you probably aren’t doing any physical labor, so your bodies aren’t in the same state of being tired and hot as ours, so you don’t feel it.”

"Is that so?" Josh thought to himself. He would run to the farm when he got back and get a sample to see how it went.

“Hey, you bet we only found out because of this guy’s taste,” another customer said.

They met here just now, and everyone was planning to buy some shaved ice to cool off. It just so happened that this person was driving a beast-drawn cart, carrying a lot of goods, passing by the Weiguang Commercial District. He was not only covered in sweat, but his face was also dark red from the heat, and he looked like he was in unbearable heat.

Quirley casually handed him a tasting bowl. No one else could tell the difference, but he could immediately tell it was good stuff. That's when everyone realized it was something special.

“No wonder everyone wants to buy this jade lychee shaved ice, now I understand,” Josh said with a smile.

Then Josh thought of a question: logically speaking, food with special effects should be twice as expensive, so should she raise the price?
Her gaze swept lightly over the guests in front of her, and it was clear that many of them had also thought of this problem, and were subtly tugging at and complaining about the guest who had just spoken to Josh.
