Chapter 282 Piglet
After Big Head finished eating the persimmons Josh had left for it, it came running over and saw that the sky had fallen!
These Gurkha cats learn so fast!

How obsequious, licking a cat's boots!
This is intolerable, but the little lamb will not tolerate it!
Big Head took two steps back, pawed twice with his hind legs, and prepared to charge!

Then he rushed into Josh's arms, knocked Josh to the ground, and happily lay on top of Josh.

Seeing the two bewildered Gourmand cats, Big Head grinned wickedly, "Haha, you didn't expect this, did you little kittens? You still have a lot to learn!"

"Big Head!" Josh gritted her teeth and squeezed out the two words. That damned little lamb almost made her shit; wasn't she itching for a beating?
Watch the fight!

"Bah!"

-

After a bit of playful bickering, Josh didn't forget what his main task for the day was.

Fortunately, after being tasted by two Gourmand cats, Josh's cat food received unanimous approval from the cats.

"Meow~" No Gurkha cat could resist this smell.

"Meow~" I agree! I declare it my favorite food!
"Is it really that delicious? Hehe." Josh grinned.

Since the taste was fine, Josh quickly called the big-tailed yak home. Recently, it had been enjoying grazing on fresh, tender grass by the lake and had gone out early in the morning.

"Niu Niu, can you help me freeze this cat food?" Big-tailed yak flicked its tail, indicating that it was a piece of cake.

Enveloped in dense ice-elemental energy, the cat food, steaming with white vapor, slowly turned into large blocks of ice.

Josh scooped out the cat food into small bowls of the same size, one bowl being roughly a day's worth.

Big-tailed yak froze the cat food, making it easier for her to store it.

Josh opened the large freezer powered by a fat yak and packed the cat food into bags, one by one, and stuffed them inside.

I was worried that eighteen little ones might not have enough to eat.

Instead, they asked Josh in surprise, "Isn't this much enough to replenish your attribute energy?"

Josh froze, then patted her head; her mind had gone down a dead end.

She clearly knew that all the other magical beasts on the farm could find their own food and supplement their energy with attribute-enhancing foods, so why did she forget about cat food?

"Meow~" Can we go hunting freely in the forest? That way we can fill our stomachs. Seeing the annoyed look on Josh's face, the Gurkha cat Fangs asked tentatively.

“Yes, of course.” Josh came to his senses.

"Meow~" Great! Now that the black rats have finished eating, we don't have to worry about running out of food.

Hearing what the two kittens said, Josh began to think about where the kittens would eat in the future.

Currently, the carnivorous moon bears on the farm hunt for themselves in the shimmering forest, where the abundant flora and fauna are enough to fill their stomachs.

Meanwhile, due to the threat of the moon bear, large predators dare not approach the edge of the dense forest, and the number of bold herbivores or omnivores has increased significantly.

On the one hand, the moon bear does not kill innocent animals indiscriminately, but only hunts when it is hungry. On the other hand, there are only two moon bears, and no matter how big they are, they cannot eat many animals.

Ultimately, this created a relatively safe environment for the animals, which in turn affected the ecology around the farm.

Josh had previously worried that the increasing number of animals might affect the crops in the fields, or that they might steal food when the people and animals on the farm weren't looking, which could cause problems.

However, in retrospect, it might not be such a bad thing. At least, even if these eighteen Gurkha cats were released back into the wild, the current ecosystem around the farm is sufficient to support them.

Besides, they also have cat food to supplement their diet, so they don't eat much meat anyway.

Hmm, the more I think about it, the better this idea seems.

“Gurcats, is it alright if you take turns hunting once a week?” Josh asked.

"Meow~" Of course! We can eat our fill after just one hunt, and then we can last for half a month!

The kitten said proudly to Josh.

"Wow, that's amazing." Josh patted its little head and gave it a thumbs up.

Wild monsters don't eat every day. On one hand, their bodies can take in several times more food than their needs in one meal. On the other hand, food isn't available every day. They seize the opportunity to eat until they're stuffed and digest it slowly. Only what they eat is truly theirs.

Although the Gurkha cats are trying to integrate into human society, their eating habits have been retained from their past employment and have not degenerated.

“However, you don’t need to eat that much. Just enough to keep you from getting hungry for four or five days. I’ll bring you back to hunt every week, and try to eat fresh food as much as possible,” Josh said, looking at the two of them.

"Meow!" That's a minor problem; they can do that.

“Alright, it’s settled then. You can treat the black rats as snacks, and I’ll bring you to the Glimmering Forest to hunt when you’re hungry.”

After agreeing on the plan, Josh took the two kittens and rode Big Head to the construction site in the commercial district.

Looking around, not a single kitten was visible; they were probably still somewhat wary.

After putting the two Gurkha cats down, Josh dismounted and walked, following in their footsteps, until he arrived at a small building where many cats lived.

Seeing their companion bring Josh in, the cats, who were initially wary and ready to run and hide, stopped and silently watched Josh.

Josh knew how wary they were when they weren't familiar with each other, so when he was still some distance away from them, he took the cat bowl out of his space backpack and opened the lid.

The warm cat food emitted an enticing aroma.

This is what she specially saved for today's meal, so that the big-tailed yak wouldn't freeze.

The aroma grew stronger and stronger, and the cats, unable to resist any longer, began to meow.

But Josh still didn't dare to go forward, so he took two steps back and moved a little further away from the cat bowl.

Seeing this, the leader of the Gurkha cats jumped down from the roof beam, pretended to be calm, and took a few steps forward to the cat bowl.

It smells so good, it must taste delicious, but its innate wariness makes it hesitate.

All the cats were waiting for their leader's move. They were sure that if it took the first bite, they would rush over without hesitation and start eating too!

Seeing the leader of the cats' hesitant expression, Fang and Fur couldn't hold back any longer. They meowed and rushed forward, saying, "If you won't eat, I will!"
This immediately sparked public outrage. Everyone was afraid to eat, so why did you two rush up here?

So the remaining dozen or so kittens all crowded over at once, not caring about safety or vigilance, and just started eating!

For a moment, the only sound echoing in the hall was the sound of kittens licking their cat food. The loudest and the one eating the most was none other than the Gurkha leader, who had been hesitant just moments before.

After finishing his meal, Josh looked at the kittens lazily sprawled on the ground, a smile that belonged to a pig farmer (not really) on his face.

That's exactly how we chefs are motivated to make delicious food! Good cat!
