Chapter 407 A Mass Nightmare?
Chapter 407 A Mass Nightmare?
"Sir, please calm down."
The receptionist looked pitiful, trembling under the angry glare of the customer, her back pressed against the wall, terrified that the furious customer would punch her at any moment.
"I've already contacted the boss, but I haven't been able to reach him."
"Hmph! He must have something to hide, so he ran away, right?" the guest snorted angrily. "He can run away, but he can't hide his temple."
"I just don't believe he can stay away from coming back for the rest of his life."
“I, Pang Heng, am putting my words here today.”
"I'm not leaving until you get the full compensation!"
"Mr. Pang Heng, I still suggest you leave as soon as possible," Qin Lang couldn't help but say after eating the melon for a while. "Aren't you afraid of having nightmares again tonight?"
"This..." Pang Heng hesitated for a moment, then turned to Qin Lang and the other two with hostility, "Who are you? Are you here to speak up for this boss?"
"Of course not." Qin Lang shook his head, both amused and exasperated. "I just heard that some of the guests here were having nightmares, so I came to check it out."
"Mr. Pang Heng, did you check in yesterday?"
“No.” Pang Heng shook his head. “I’ve been staying here for three days now.”
"Three days?" Qin Lang was somewhat surprised. "Sleeping here would give you nightmares, and you've actually stayed for three days without leaving?"
"What are you talking about..." Pang Heng scratched his head, somewhat bewildered. "I only had nightmares yesterday; I was fine the previous two days."
Upon hearing this, Qin Lang and the other two quickly exchanged glances.
I only had a nightmare yesterday!
This shows that the power of nightmares is only just beginning to emerge!
"If Mr. Pang Heng really wants to protect his rights, he can try contacting the Royal Chef Association," Qin Lang earnestly suggested. "This staff member is just an ordinary worker; it's pointless to take your anger out on her."
“This…” After listening, Pang Heng also felt that Qin Lang’s words made some sense. He glanced at the staff member who was about to cry and spoke in a muffled voice.
"I'm sorry, I was in a bad mood and took it out on you."
"No...it's nothing!" The staff member quickly shook his head, then gave Qin Lang a grateful look.
"Let's talk about protecting our rights later," Pang Heng said, rubbing his wrist. "Right now, I just want to punch that boss hard."
"I'll wait here for now. I refuse to believe he won't show up at the hotel today!"
After saying that, Pang Heng snorted and strode to the hotel entrance, where he crossed his arms and leaned against the doorpost like a door god.
Qin Lang shook his head, both amused and exasperated, then looked at the staff member wiping away tears on the other side, "It's alright, it's nothing now."
"Thank you so much, sir," the staff member said gratefully. "Many guests complained about having nightmares last night, but it's rare to see someone as emotionally agitated as the gentleman just now."
"Most of them just complain while checking out."
"Did many people have nightmares last night?" Qin Lang asked casually, as if it were nothing.
“Almost all of them,” the staff member sighed. “I don’t know why this is happening.”
"Did you have any nightmares last night?" Zhao Qian looked at the staff member carefully; the staff member did not appear tired or haggard.
"No." The staff member shook his head. "This location is a bit remote. Although the boss is willing to provide us with accommodation, I still prefer to stay at my own home in the city."
"It is located in the suburbs of Lancho, and its only advantage is its proximity to the venue of the Magnolia Food Festival."
"But the Magnolia Food Festival is only held once a year, so the hotel's business is usually not very good at other times."
"However, there is one good thing about this place: it has the most night-blooming jasmine in Lanqiu City, besides Lanjin Garden."
"So, the quality of sleep is quite guaranteed when staying here." "That's why the owner named the hotel 'Sweet Dream Hotel'." At this point, the staff member sighed, "Who would have thought that guests would have nightmares all over the place?"
“Yes,” Cao Dongdong couldn’t help but nod in agreement, “So why can’t we get in touch with your boss?”
"I don't know about that." The staff member shook his phone. "I called him more than twenty times this morning."
No one answered the phone.
As he spoke, the staff member casually made a phone call to the other party and put it on speakerphone.
Surprisingly, after a few beeps, the call connected. After a rustling sound, a tired voice came from the other end, "Xiao Zhang, what's up?"
"Boss, you finally answered the phone!" the staff member said with a complicated expression. "You need to come to the hotel quickly, something terrible has happened!"
"The hotel guests all had nightmares last night, and more than 80% of them checked out this morning, with one guest still..."
She glanced at the figure standing in the doorway, paused, and said, "Boss, remember to wear a few extra layers when you come."
"Getting beaten like this shouldn't hurt too much."
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone, then all I heard was "I'll be right there," and then the call was disconnected.
"The boss is finally coming." The staff member breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled somewhat embarrassedly at Qin Lang and the other two.
"Such a big thing, I, a working-class person, really can't handle it."
The three of them chuckled, then turned their gaze to the hotel entrance.
They were eager to know whether the hotel owner was aware of the nightmares and whether he had anything to do with them.
Time passed second by second, but there was no one outside the door. Instead, the sound of a phone call came from behind.
"Xiao Zhang, tell me what happened."
Qin Lang and the other two quickly turned around and saw a middle-aged man with deep dark circles under his eyes.
"Boss?!" Xiao Zhang exclaimed in surprise, covering his mouth. "Why did you sleep in a hotel last night?"
"Don't even mention it." The middle-aged man waved his hand dismissively. "I had a fight with my wife and got kicked out."
"Staying elsewhere costs money, so of course I'll stay in my own hotel."
As he spoke, the middle-aged man vigorously rubbed his cheek.
"Who knew I'd be so unlucky? I had nightmares all night, and when I finally woke up, I got your call."
"What kind of mess is this?!"
Upon hearing this, Qin Lang's expression immediately became quite interesting.
Cao Dongdong, who was standing to the side, covered his mouth and whispered, "Judging from this, it seems that this boss was completely unaware of the situation. Even he himself has fallen victim to it."
"Don't jump to conclusions so quickly," Zhao Qian said in a low voice as well. "Maybe this is just a ploy by the boss?"
"Whether it's a ruse or not, we'll know once we ask." Qin Lang also lowered his voice and was about to step forward to ask.
But someone was faster than him.
"Are you the owner of this hotel?" Pang Heng rushed up to the middle-aged man and grabbed his collar.
"rnm, refund the money!"
