The God of Heavens
Chapter 213 Revisiting Earth, the Jade Emperor's Old Friends
Chapter 213 Return to Earth, Old Friends of the Jade Emperor
Before long, everyone's cultivation and magical power reached a point of equilibrium and stopped declining.
Looking down from above, skyscrapers rise one after another, soaring into the sky.
Under such suppression of heaven and earth, it is probably only Dao Palace cultivators on Earth who can fly. Lin Yu did not continue to descend, but began to fly across the sky. He was already close to the coast, and soon he entered the sky above the ocean.
In this vast, uninhabited place, everyone's tense nerves instantly relaxed, and they roared, releasing all the emotions that had been suppressed for so long.
"I am back!"
"boom!"
With a deafening roar, Lin Yu and his group plunged into the Pacific Ocean like meteors. Giant waves, hundreds or even thousands of meters high, surged northeastward, carrying with them a shimmering divine light.
"Oh no!" Lin Yu exclaimed in alarm, realizing the situation was spiraling out of control the moment he fell. Although he had tried his best to restrain himself, the impact of the fall far exceeded his expectations.
The Pacific Ocean boiled, and the seawater shimmered with an eerie blue light under the aftershocks of divine power, forming an unprecedented tsunami.
Residents along the coast of an island nation were horrified to discover that a colossal, catastrophic wave had suddenly surged from the once calm sea. Satellite images showed a circular shockwave spreading at an alarming speed, causing islands to tremble in its path and triggering a series of volcanic warnings.
"This..." Ye Fan stood on the waves, looking at the outline of the island being swallowed by the sea in the distance, his expression complicated. Pang Bo chuckled twice: "We've brought a 'surprise' to our hometown people."
Lin Yu sighed softly, and with a flick of his sleeve, he set up a force-absorbing barrier behind him. But it was too late; the chain reaction triggered by their fall had already left a deep mark on the Earth.
Since things had come to this, Lin Yu could only express his regret. He waved his sleeve, enveloping everyone. Everyone felt a blur before their eyes, and the surrounding scenery suddenly changed.
One second you're on the turbulent Pacific Ocean, the next you're atop a skyscraper.
Beneath their feet, the cityscape unfolded slowly. A constant flow of traffic, a bustling crowd, flashing neon lights—the urban hustle and bustle was overwhelming, bringing tears to the eyes of these travelers.
"This...this is..." Pang Bo's voice trembled, his thick fingers gripping the rooftop railing tightly. Ye Fan took a deep breath, the exhaust fumes mixed with the smell of cooking fires filling his nostrils, and a wave of bitterness instantly washed over him.
Lin Yu stood with his hands behind his back, gazing at the distant horizon in a daze. Even someone as strong as him couldn't hide the tremor in his heart when facing this familiar steel forest.
Zhang Wenchang trembled with excitement, his eyes red-rimmed: "We're here! We're finally back! Lin Yu, Ye Fan, I...I'm leaving now! I want to go home."
He eagerly channeled his divine power, and a faint divine rainbow appeared beneath his feet. But just as he leaped into the air, his body swayed violently, and he nearly plummeted from a hundred meters in the air.
The others did the same. Seeing this, Lin Yu couldn't help but smile and waved his sleeve lightly: "Alright, let's see this through to the end." A soft divine light enveloped everyone and instantly pierced the sky.
Across the land of China, streaks of light, like shooting stars, scattered in all directions.
From the water towns of Jiangnan to the snowy plains of the North, these wanderers, who have been away for many years, have finally returned to their long-cherished hometown.
After Ye Fan, Pang Bo and the others left, Lin Yu was left with only the four little ones and the Yao Guang group. He moved with lightning speed, took a step and disappeared without a trace.
At the summit of Mount Tai, a sea of clouds surges and rolls.
Lin Yu returned to the summit, looking down at all the mountains below, and was filled with emotion in this place.
This sacred mountain, a symbol of Chinese civilization, remains as majestic and magnificent as I remember it. Tourists throng the area, incense smoke curls, and the distant, melodious sounds of bells and chimes drift on, just as they always have.
Lin Yu and his companions, dressed in ancient costumes, walked along the mountain path, their robes fluttering, like figures stepping out of an ancient painting, attracting the attention of the surrounding tourists.
"Look over there!"
"Is this a period drama being filmed?"
"This cosplay is so professional, even the hair accessories are so meticulous."
Hearing the tourists' whispers, Lin Yu's lips curled into a slight smile, a hint of nostalgia flashing in his eyes. Yun Lan awkwardly tugged at his wide sleeves and whispered, "Junior brother, aren't we too conspicuous in our attire? Should we change into modern clothes?"
A mischievous glint flashed in Lin Yu's eyes as he chuckled, "How about I give them a little make-out performance?" As he spoke, a faint wisp of divine light gathered at his fingertips.
"No, no, no!" Yunlan quickly waved her hand, causing the four little ones to cover their mouths and giggle. Jinling blinked her big eyes, curiously looking at the surrounding tall buildings; Jinyao, on the other hand, watched the tourists' mobile phones warily, afraid that these "strange magical artifacts" would suddenly cause trouble.
Just then, a little girl with pigtails broke free from her mother's hand, ran up to Lin Yu, and looked up at him, asking, "Big brother, are you a god?" "That's right, we are gods who came back from the Spoon Star," Lin Yu said, speaking nonsense with a straight face.
The little girl's eyes lit up immediately, and she asked in her childish voice, "Can you fly?"
Lin Yu raised his index finger mysteriously: "This is a secret." As he spoke, a small golden lotus flower suddenly bloomed from his fingertip, shimmering in the sunlight.
The little girl clapped her hands in surprise, but the surrounding tourists just thought it was a magic show and laughed good-naturedly.
"Yaya! Don't disturb their filming!" The young mother quickly came over, picked up her child, and smiled apologetically at Lin Yu. After they had walked away, Yun Lan shook his head helplessly: "Junior brother, what a wicked sense of humor."
Jinling jumped up excitedly: "Master, Master! I want to play too!" She imitated Lin Yu, condensing a wisp of golden light at her fingertips, which startled Jin Yao, who quickly grabbed her hand: "Stop fooling around, you can't use magic here!"
Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar world around him, a hint of warmth flickered in Lin Yu's eyes. He said softly, "Let's go, I'll take you to see where I used to live."
Lin Yu stood before the Jade Emperor Temple, gazing at the familiar vermilion gate and the mottled plaque, feeling as if he had been transported to another world. He led the group up the steps, through the incense-filled front hall, and straight to the back courtyard.
"Layman, please wait!" A young Taoist boy, about ten years old, spread his arms to block the way, his little face tense. "The backyard is where our masters cultivate in seclusion, and it is not open to the public."
Lin Yu smiled as he looked at the young Taoist's earnest expression. He leaned down and said softly, "Please trouble the young master to inform Master Xuanqing that disciple Xuancheng has come to visit."
The young Taoist looked suspiciously at the group of "tourists" dressed in ancient costumes. Just as he was about to refuse, Lin Yu lightly tapped his fingertip, and an ancient jade tablet appeared out of thin air. It was the ordination certificate personally passed down by Master Xuancheng back then.
"What...what is this?!" The young Taoist boy's eyes widened, and he turned and ran inside. "Grandmaster! Grandmaster! Someone has come with our ancestral jade tablet!"
A short while later, hurried footsteps echoed from the backyard. An elderly Taoist priest with white hair staggered out, his whisk trembling. When he saw Lin Yu's face clearly, his cloudy eyes instantly welled up with tears: "Senior Brother? How is this possible?"
Lin Yu stepped forward to support the old man's trembling body and said softly, "Uncle-Master Xuanqing, it's me who's back." He channeled a wisp of gentle spiritual energy through his fingertips, and the wrinkles on the old man's face smoothed out at a speed visible to the naked eye.
After the commotion, Lin Yu and the old Taoist Xuanqing sat facing each other at the stone table in the backyard, with the four little ones standing obediently to the side. Xuanqing explained that after Lin Yu's disappearance, he had voluntarily applied to the government to take over the Jade Emperor Temple, leaving the original temple to be managed by his disciples.
This move serves two purposes: firstly, to train the younger generation, and secondly, to hold onto the hope that Lin Yu might return.
He still couldn't believe it: "You really left Earth in a coffin pulled by nine dragons?"
“That’s right,” Lin Yu nodded in confirmation, “Back then, we rode the Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin to Mars first, then went to the Big Dipper, where we cultivated for several years…”
"I never imagined that our lineage would have such an opportunity to resume our cultivation path. Back when your master found you, he said that you had an extraordinary origin and were a reincarnation of a celestial being."
The old man, being quite old, talked on and on about many things from back then. Lin Yu remained silent, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
Previously, he had searched extensively for his biological parents, but to no avail due to a lack of information. Now, even using divination techniques, he remains clueless. Could it be that, as his master said, he is truly a celestial being born of heaven and earth?
As dusk deepened, the old Taoist Xuanqing finally succumbed to his weariness and got up to leave. Lin Yu escorted the old man all the way to his residence.
He turned back, meeting the concerned gazes of the crowd, and a faint smile appeared on his lips: "Don't worry, I am no longer the confused boy I once was. No matter what my background is, I will always be the Lin Yu you all know."
He looked up at the sky, where the afterglow of the setting sun gilded Mount Tai: "It's still early, let me arrange a place for you to stay."
Thunder in the snap of a finger!
In an instant, the world changed color. A bolt of chaotic lightning cleaved through the void, the Yin and Yang energies circulated endlessly, and the five elements intertwined and evolved. To the astonishment of the crowd, Lin Yu created a small world deep within the void atop Mount Tai.
"Congeal."
With his palm facing down, a wisp of spiritual energy from the Taishan dragon vein transformed into a crystalline dragon that disappeared into it. He then raised his hand to summon the pure energy of the heavens and draw in the essence of the four seas, nourishing this newly born world with abundant spiritual energy.
With a wave of his hand, countless divine materials flew out, Dao fire ignited, spiritual light shone brightly, and endless Dao patterns intertwined, evolving into countless strange phenomena.
In the blink of an eye, a small world spanning a hundred miles has taken shape, with pavilions and towers built against the mountain, and springs and waterfalls dotting the landscape.
This time, Lin Yu will probably stay for a while. In addition to managing the cultivation world on Earth, he also needs to leave a legacy for the Jade Emperor Temple lineage. Opening up a small world is also a timely opportunity.
"Let's settle here for now." Lin Yu flicked his sleeves and led everyone into this world.
The four little ones looked around curiously, and saw that the clouds formed steps, the stars adorned the eaves, the jade pavilion was hidden in the thin mist, the exotic flowers glowed with a faint light, and the spirit flowed, making it a sight to behold.
