Douluo: Yu Hao is reborn, this Tang San is different

Chapter 107 The Master of Double Standards

Chapter 107 The Master of Double Standards

The arena was filled with the pungent stench of blood. The Shrek Seven Devils lay sprawled on the ground like broken puppets. Dai Mubai's white tiger fur was stained with blood, Ma Hongjun's phoenix flames had dimmed into wisps of smoke, and Xiao Wu's Soft Bone Lock hung limply at her sides.

Tang San coughed up blood and tried to get up, but Huo Yuhao's Xuanzhong Ruler pressed him firmly to the ground, the cold metallic light burning against his throat.

"This round doesn't count! You broke the rules!" Yu Xiaogang's roar shattered the silence.

This usually composed outcast of the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Rex family now had bulging veins on his forehead and his suit jacket was covered in dust. He rushed past the referee who was trying to stop him, his leather shoes slipping on the cracked stone slabs, but he still stubbornly charged towards Huo Yuhao.

"Rules?" Huo Yuhao sneered, suddenly retracting the Xuan Heavy Ruler. The gust of wind he generated as he turned around blew Tang San's bangs away.

He moved like a ghost, sweeping across the mess on the ground, and appeared in front of Yu Xiaogang in the blink of an eye. The Eight Extremes Collapse, carrying a bone-chilling cold, blasted out. Yu Xiaogang hurriedly raised his arm to block, and with a cracking sound, his right arm twisted into an unnatural angle on the spot.

"Ah!" Yu Xiaogang cried out in pain and staggered backward, but was suddenly pulled back by Huo Yuhao's suction palm. A scorching wave of air rushed towards him, and the flames spewed out by the fire-blowing palm instantly ignited his sleeve.

Yu Xiaogang rolled around desperately trying to put out the fire, his white temples singed and curled, his gold-rimmed glasses perched askew on his face. He struggled to his feet, his ash-covered fingers pointing at Huo Yuhao:
"You...you intentionally injured me!"

"Intentional?" Huo Yuhao's heavy ruler grazed Yu Xiaogang's ear and drove into the ground, shards of stone flying and leaving fine bloodstains on his pale cheek. "When your disciple used hidden weapons to poison or unleash deadly moves, did he ever think about the rules?"

Before he finished speaking, he raised his leg and kicked Yu Xiaogang hard in the chest. The martial spirit theory master flew backward like a kite with a broken string, smashed through the protective railing at the edge of the arena, and fell into the front row of the audience.

Screams erupted. Audience members scrambled to get out of the way, expensive seats were overturned, and drinks were spilled on the pricey carpets.

Yu Xiaogang struggled to sit up, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, yet he stubbornly pointed at Huo Yuhao: "The Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan will not let you go..."

His response was Huo Yuhao's relentless attacks.

The Eight Extremes Collapse struck his back three times in succession, his spine emitting a dull thud that made his teeth ache; the Sucking Palm pulled him up, and the heat wave from the Blowing Fire Palm left large blisters on his neck.

Yu Xiaogang finally curled up like a shrimp, coughing up blood and collapsing between the seats. His suit was completely torn, revealing his skin covered in bruises.

In the center of the arena, the Shrek Seven Devils struggled to their feet.

Tang San's Blue Silver Grass trembled weakly, but he didn't even have the strength to lift a finger; Dai Mubai's tiger eyes were filled with tears, but he couldn't even roar because of his broken ribs.

The smoke from the battle had not yet cleared from the arena, and Huo Yuhao's Xuanzhong Ruler was still dripping blood. The Shrek Seven Devils and Yu Xiaogang lay sprawled on the ground, severely injured.

Just as tensions were rising, a figure darted from the stands—it was Flander, the dean of Shrek Academy. He was slightly overweight, but moved with the agility of a rabbit, landing on the arena in the blink of an eye.

Flander's face was ashen, and his aura suddenly erupted. His owl spirit instantly manifested, unfurling a pair of enormous wings on his back, their feathers gleaming with a metallic sheen, and their sharp claws flashing with a cold light. A powerful pressure spread outwards from him, causing the rubble on the arena to tremble slightly.

"Stop!" Flander's voice was deep and powerful, full of intimidation. He stared intently at Huo Yuhao, his eyes burning with anger. "Who gave you the audacity to hurt my student and teacher right under my nose!"

Huo Yuhao sensed this powerful aura, his brows furrowed slightly, he gripped the Xuanzhong Ruler tightly, and his soul power began to circulate, preparing for the upcoming battle.

Just as the atmosphere became tense, another figure rushed over – it was Qin Ming, the leader of the Royal Fighting Team. He rushed between Flander and Huo Yuhao, his face full of anxiety.

Qin Ming looked at Flander, a hint of excitement and respect flashing in his eyes. He knelt on one knee and said loudly, "Dean!" His voice was filled with undisguised respect.

Flander was slightly taken aback, carefully examined Qin Ming for a moment, and the anger in his eyes subsided slightly: "You are... Qin Ming? I didn't expect you to become the leader of the Royal Fighting Team."

His gaze swept over the Shrek students and Yu Xiaogang lying on the ground, then turned to Huo Yuhao, and said in a deep voice, "Is this your student?"

Qin Ming stood up and nodded respectfully: "Yes, Dean. Yuhao... he acted on impulse."

His eyes held helplessness and apology. Upon hearing this, Flander frowned, his expression shifting between light and shadow.

Just then, Yu Tianheng struggled to his feet. Clutching his injured chest, he shouted, "Huo Yuhao, stop hitting him! That master is my uncle!" His voice was filled with anxiety and panic.

Huo Yuhao paused, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. Seeing this, Flander sighed softly, his tense body relaxing.

He glanced around at everyone in the arena and said in a deep voice, "It seems that today's battle was just a misunderstanding. We all know each other, so there's no need to make a fuss. We can resolve this ourselves."

At this moment, the referee walked over nervously.

He looked at the powerful aura emanating from Flander, then at the people lying on the ground, and hesitated. Flander turned to look at the referee, his soul power slightly radiating outwards, an invisible pressure causing the referee to involuntarily take a step back.

"We'll handle this ourselves," Flander said firmly. The referee, sensing the pressure emanating from Flander—at least at the Soul Saint level—didn't dare say anything more and could only nod repeatedly with a forced smile: "Yes, yes, since it's a misunderstanding, then it's easy to talk about, easy to talk about."

The referee then hastily withdrew as if granted a pardon.

The atmosphere in the arena gradually calmed down.

Qin Ming quickly went to the members of the Royal Fighting Team and began to treat their injuries.

Huo Yuhao put away the Xuan Heavy Ruler and walked up to the Shrek Seven Devils, a complex look flashing in his eyes. He cupped his hands slightly and said, "I have offended you all today, please forgive me." Although Dai Mubai and the others were still somewhat resentful, seeing that things had already come to this, they could only nod helplessly.

Flander walked over to Yu Xiaogang, squatted down, and checked his injuries, his face full of concern: "Xiaogang, are you alright?"

Yu Xiaogang shook his head and said with a wry smile, "My old bones can still hold up." The two looked at each other and saw a hint of helplessness in each other's eyes.

Just then, the master staggered up to Yu Tianheng.

"Tianheng." A deep and familiar voice rang out. Yu Tianheng looked up abruptly, his eyes flashing with surprise and confusion. "Uncle? What are you doing here?"

The master stepped forward slowly, his robes fluttering in the wind, his gaze seemingly holding a thousand unspoken words.

After everyone had gone some distance, the master stepped forward, placed his hands on Yu Tianheng's shoulders, and said with a burning gaze, "Little Heng, you did not lose today's battle unjustly. But do you know just how powerful your opponents were?"

Before Yu Tianheng could answer, he continued, "Take Tang San for example. His Blue Silver Herb is a useless martial soul, but under my tutelage, he can now unleash such astonishing power. His hidden weapons, his control abilities—aren't they all the results of my martial soul theory?"

Yu Tianheng frowned slightly, about to speak, but Grandmaster waved his hand and continued, "Those people from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan are blind! They only value the innate quality of a martial soul, but they can't see the infinite possibilities of its cultivation. They expelled me from the sect, thinking I was a disgrace to the family, but they don't know that what they lost was a genius who could change the landscape of soul master cultivation!"

The master became more and more excited as he spoke, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism. "Tang San is the best proof! He grew from an underestimated kid into a strongman who can rival you all. All of this is a victory for my Martial Soul Theory!"

Yu Tianheng opened his mouth, but ultimately couldn't say anything.

The master, however, seemed to have opened a floodgate, speaking eloquently: "Look at you, a prodigy of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, possessing an innately gifted martial soul, yet you repeatedly suffer setbacks in actual combat. Why? Because the clan only teaches you to cultivate soul power and unleash soul skills, but doesn't know how to combine theory with practice, doesn't know how to tap into the true potential of your martial soul!"

“But Uncle,” Yu Tianheng finally found a chance to interject, “our training is also very rigorous…” “Rigorous?” The master sneered, interrupting him.
"Does hard work guarantee victory? Without proper theoretical guidance, all hard work is in vain! Look at Tang San, every tactic he employs, every attack he makes, is meticulously designed and guided by me. This is the true path of a Soul Master!"

At this point, the master's tone changed, and his expression became serious:

"And then there's Huo Yuhao. What he did today was a violation of the basic principles of a Soul Master! He entered the arena without permission and disrupted the rules of the competition. You must stay away from such a person with wicked intentions in the future! There should be rules for competitions. If everyone acted like him, wouldn't the Soul Master world be in chaos?"

Yu Tianheng asked in confusion, "But Uncle, Tang San tried to kill us during the competition? We all admitted defeat. Doesn't that count as breaking the rules?"

The master's face darkened instantly, but he quickly regained his composure and said righteously, "Tang San was under my strict supervision and training. How can he be compared to Huo Yuhao's behavior of wantonly breaking the rules? Tang San went a little too far, but it was to seek a chance to survive in a desperate situation and for the team's victory. Huo Yuhao, on the other hand, was purely acting out of selfishness and disrupting the competition!"

Yu Tianheng was still immersed in the master's words, his thoughts churning. Just then, a clear, cold voice came from the shadows: "What a high-sounding theory, Master Yu Xiaogang, your double standards are truly masterful."

Huo Yuhao slowly stepped out of the shadows, the Xuanzhong Ruler slung over his back, exuding an aura that could not be ignored.

The master's face instantly darkened. Looking at Huo Yuhao, who had suddenly appeared, his eyes were full of displeasure: "You have no right to speak here!"

Huo Yuhao, however, seemed not to hear him, a mocking smile playing on his lips: "I wondered who was spouting such nonsense. It turns out to be that famous master of martial soul theory. I've long heard that you always say 'There are no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters,' but now it seems that these words are quite ironic when applied to yourself."

Yu Tianheng stared wide-eyed at Huo Yuhao, who had suddenly appeared, then looked at the unfriendly-looking master, unsure of what to do.

Huo Yuhao, however, didn't care and continued, "I heard that your soul power is only level 29? According to your theory, wouldn't that make you a useless soul master? You preach the importance of hard work, but you yourself are stagnant. Aren't you indirectly criticizing yourself?"

The master's face flushed crimson, his fingers trembling slightly: "You! What do you know! How can soul power level represent everything? My martial soul theory..."

"Martial Soul Theory?" Huo Yuhao interrupted the master, his tone full of disdain. "Your Martial Soul Theory teaches students to use any means necessary in competitions? Tang San using hidden weapons is, in your eyes, a means of survival in dire situations and for the team to win; but when I go on stage, it becomes a matter of wickedness and breaking the rules? This double standard, I'm afraid, isn't something you set arbitrarily, is it?"

"Don't you dare make false accusations!" the master roared. "Tang San's hidden weapons are the result of his diligent research, and are completely different from your unauthorized use of them!"

Huo Yuhao sneered: "Different nature? It's just the pot calling the kettle black. The competition rules are there, violating the rules is violating the rules, where do all these high-sounding excuses come from? As a teacher, instead of setting a good example, you're here favoring your students and distorting the truth, and you still have the nerve to talk about martial soul theory and the principles of soul masters?"

Yu Tianheng watched the two arguing and wanted to dissuade them, but he didn't know where to begin.

Huo Yuhao grew increasingly agitated as he spoke, his eyes flashing with anger:

"You keep saying that the Blue Lightning Tyrannosaurus Clan is blind to talent, but aren't you just as blindly arrogant yourself? Your martial spirit theory is nothing but empty talk. Without strong strength to support it, even the most brilliant theory is just a castle in the air. You yourself can't even break through the bottleneck of soul power, so what right do you have to point fingers at others?"

The master was speechless after Huo Yuhao's words, his chest heaving violently, but he couldn't find the right words to refute him.

Huo Yuhao stepped forward, his gaze piercing: "In today's battle, we fought honorably. I admit Shrek Academy has some strength, but your biased and hypocritical behavior is truly despicable. If you are truly capable, prove your theories with your strength, instead of relying on your seniority and resorting to sophistry!"

Upon hearing this, Tang San's body suddenly erupted with blue silver grass, his eyes burning with raging anger, and he was about to rush towards Huo Yuhao with a burst of strength.

Just as he was about to move, a dark shadow appeared in front of him like lightning.

Flander unfurled the enormous owl wings behind him, and a powerful pressure swept over him, firmly blocking Tang San's path.
