Chapter 312 The Bridge
Chief Wei was at Shi Xia's door, about to knock and call out, when his leg was suddenly patted.

The chubby white creature wiggled its round bottom and flapped its wings.

"No need to knock?"

Big White nodded.

Of course, I can't knock on the door; those little devils finally managed to fall asleep.

"Wow, you're really smart! So, what's the plan?"

Big White arrogantly turned its head: It's innate!

Chief Wei wanted to laugh, but a threatening look from Da Bai, who suddenly turned around, made him cover his mouth, forbidding him to laugh or make a sound.

A high-ranking official tiptoed in, as if he were a thief.

Shi Xia was closing the bedroom door.

In the bedroom, there was a crib that the old man had made, surrounded by railings, making it very safe.

Shi Xia quietly withdrew. Although the children were easy to take care of, she had three of them.

Putting everything else aside, just take breastfeeding as an example. One feeding session can take up to three hours.

Sometimes, just after feeding the youngest, the oldest gets hungry again.

The disadvantages of being physically strong became tangible at this moment. She didn't need to do anything else that day; she just ate and processed the food to provide sustenance for her three strong children.

She's already considering adding formula; all three of them are eating bigger and bigger than the last, and she's struggling to keep up.

"Shi Xia?"

Chief Wei spoke softly, Shi Xia nodded, opened the door, and Da Bai went inside looking utterly dejected. The hungry nanny then went to work.

After Da Bai went inside, Shi Xia closed the door and pointed in the direction of the courtyard. Chief Wei understood and followed her out.

The two walked a little further away, and their voices became more normal.

"What's up?"

"Correct."

Shi Xia waited, and Chief Wei said with some emotion, "It's been a long time since I've talked to you like this, and I miss it a little."

No one is as direct as Shi Xia; everyone has to say some nonsense.

"Hurry up."

"it is good!"

Chief Wei explained his purpose: a bridge across the river was to be built in the south of the city, and it had been progressing well, but recently some trouble had arisen.

"What kind of trouble?"

Shi Xia sat on the stone by the door, while Chief Wei simply sat on the stone opposite her.

"There's a problem with the scientific method. I don't know the specific technical details, but building a bridge requires putting stone piers into the river and pouring cement. Everything was fine until recently, but the cement just keeps disappearing after it's been poured in. This has happened several times. We sent divers down, but they never came back up."

Shi Xia raised an eyebrow.

Someone died?
"No body was found."

Although Chief Wei said that, no one believed that the person was still alive.

“Such a big project can’t be stopped just like that. The initial investment was too large, so I thought of you. Could you go and take a look?”

"Row."

Shi Xia didn't hesitate. The baby could drink formula, and she didn't need to travel for long; it was only a domestic trip, and she could be back in three or four days.

"Thank you, Shi Xia."

"No need to thank me. I accepted the benefits and position you offered, so it's only right that I do something."

Shi Xia sees things clearly. If you don't want to do anything and still want to enjoy your own benefits, that's just wishful thinking.

"Then when are you leaving?"

Shi Xia got up.

"Tell them not to send any more people down there. I'm leaving tomorrow. Take care of the kids today."

"it is good!"

Chief Wei left.

Shi Xia didn't go back to her room; this was her private time.

The sun was shining brightly today, and Shi Xia moved a deck chair to the front door to bask in the sun.

The warm sunlight felt so comforting on her eyelids that she fell asleep in no time.

Inside the bedroom, Big White stood on his special little chair, lying down and looking at the three chubby baby dolls.

The eldest kicked its little foot, probably due to a vibration or some other sensation, while the second eldest waved its little arms unwillingly. The big white dog got up and gently flapped its wings twice at the second eldest, who then snuggled back to sleep.

I fanned the eldest brother again, and he slowly fell asleep.

Big White slowly lay down and continued watching the baby.

When Wen Cheng'an returned, he saw Shi Xia sleeping at the door. He didn't need to look to know that Da Bai was inside watching the baby.

Da Bai, the nanny, is more dedicated than anyone else, and spends more time looking after the child than the father does.

Wen Cheng'an didn't pick up Shi Xia. Instead, he went inside, got a blanket, and gently covered her up so she could continue to rest.

I don't sleep well because I spend too long feeding at night.

He tiptoed into the house, put away the food he had brought back from the cafeteria, and then made a soup.

My aunt isn't home today.

After Shi Xia finished her postpartum confinement, her aunt went back home.

It wasn't that she didn't want to help take care of the child; it was that Shi Xia felt she didn't need to.

She doesn't need to cook, clean, or hold the baby 24/7. She has Baymax, Little Gold, and Little Eagle by her side when she goes to the toilet, and an old sea turtle to play with her.

In Shi Xia's opinion, it was enough.

When she's about to leave, just call her aunt over; the old couple has their own lives to live too.

Shi Xia woke up because she was hungry.

"Is it evening already? I've been sleeping for so long?"

"No, it was Chief Wei who told me to come back first."

Wen Chengan walked over and handed Shi Xia a warm towel.

"Wash your face, shall we eat first?"

"Yeah, I'm hungry."

After wiping her face and regaining some energy, Shi Xia sat down to eat and looked towards the bedroom, asking, "Still not awake?"

"They're awake. Little Gold is inside playing with them."

It turned out to be the case.

"Eat your food properly, and if you don't cry or make a fuss, we'll pretend we don't know anything."

Wen Cheng'an had a great attitude, and Shi Xia was no less so. They nodded and said, "That makes a lot of sense."

The two exchanged a slightly sly glance and continued eating. After taking only a couple of bites, they noticed the resentful-looking Big White lying under the table.

Big White: You two are really inhuman!
After the meal, Shi Xia and Wen Cheng'an began to research milk powder.

When Shi Xia gave birth, many people sent her baby formula.

There are three bottles for each baby.

I just haven't given it to my three babies yet, so I'll look into it now.

After the formula was prepared, there were sounds coming from the bedroom.

The little eagle used its head to push open the door, its head feathers standing on end.

It would rather go hunting for ten days than play with its cubs anymore.

"Little eagle, you've worked hard."

Shi Xia quickly calmed down the general who was taking care of the child, giving him plenty of supernatural abilities.

Little Eagle has transformed from a homeless man who had been wandering for a month into a handsome, elite-looking young man.

Their eyes even brightened a bit!
Wen Cheng'an watched, thinking to himself: This is just like smoking opium.
Little Eagle went out, and Shi Xia went in with the milk bottle.

"Here you are, here you are, dinner is served."

The bottle was put into the older child's mouth. At first, the older child didn't eat, but after tasting a little bit of the flavor, their little mouth slowly started moving.

It's getting faster and faster; they're accepting things very quickly.

Shi Xia smiled, it was worth it for adding so much supernatural power to the water she used to make the formula.

The scent should be familiar.

Next, the second and third sons also ate, and Wen Chengan was happy to see this.

With this, Shi Xia no longer needs to get up at night to breastfeed.

The two looked at each other and said in unison, "From now on, we'll feed her formula."
