Chapter 207 Hijacking
The family compound, the home of Wen Chengan and Shi Xia.

Shi Xia sat inside the room without turning on the lights.

Shi Xia sensed the quiet and darkness around her and smiled helplessly.

She actually felt very lonely. It was true that she was used to the hustle and bustle, and when she returned to her own space, she always felt that something was missing.

What's missing?

Without Wen Cheng'an's clinginess, without his sweet calls of "wife," there's no more.

Shi Xia sighed and prepared to get up to turn on the light.

"Shi Xia, are you home?"

Sister Cheng from next door came over. Seeing that the lights in Shi Xia's house were off, she called out worriedly.

Shi Xia pushed open the door and turned on the light.

The dim light shone on Shi Xia's face as she smiled slightly at Sister Cheng.

"At home, sister-in-law, come in and sit down."

"I'm at home. I made some steamed buns. You haven't had dinner yet, have you?"

Sister-in-law Cheng knew that Shi Xia didn't cook, and Wen Cheng'an would cook when he came back in the evening, but today none of Wen Cheng'an and the others came back.

Shi Xia wasn't embarrassed at all.

"I really haven't eaten."

Sister-in-law Cheng liked Shi Xia's authenticity, and carried the porcelain bowl into the house.

"Eat it while it's hot."

"Row."

Shi Xia turned around to get a bowl and chopsticks, and ate all four big steamed buns in front of Sister Cheng.

"good to eat!"

Sister-in-law Cheng was taken aback. Had she taken too little?
Shi Xia understood and said, "It's so delicious, I'm already stuffed."

Sister-in-law Cheng was relieved and drank the tea in her hand, which Shi Xia had poured for her.

"Shi Xia, several men haven't returned yet, and no communications soldier has come to deliver a message for extra training. This situation basically means they've been on an emergency mission and didn't have time to say a word."

As Sister-in-law Cheng explained, she glanced at Shi Xia's expression.

"We are military wives. The military comes first, and the wives come second. Being a soldier's wife means spending too many days like this. We not only watch over them, but we also worry about them."

"When your Battalion Commander Cheng went on his first mission, I couldn't sleep at home for nights on end, but I got used to it after a while."

"I do care, but life goes on. We can't just come back and see us not living a good life at home, can we?"

Sister-in-law Cheng said a lot, and Shi Xia understood. She was there to comfort her and also to tell her about the difficulties of being a military wife.

"Sister-in-law, I know, thank you."

"No need to thank me, they're all neighbors, they're all comrades-in-arms, people you could entrust your life to on the battlefield."

Sister-in-law Cheng left only after seeing that Shi Xia was truly alright.

Shi Xia saw her off at the door and watched as Sister-in-law Cheng returned to the next room before looking towards the shadows behind her.

"Come out."

Scattered footsteps approached, and Lin Sisi emerged from the shadows, her shoulders hunched, looking pitiful.

"Shi Xia, will you let me stay for the night?"

"Sure, but you'll sleep in the rocking chair."

Shi Xia didn't want anyone else to sleep in her and Wen Cheng'an's bed.

"it is good!"

Lin Sisi went home to get a blanket and spent the night lying on the rocking chair at Shi Xia's house.

Her family members also went on a mission, leaving no trace. Lin Sisi wasn't mentally prepared for this.

The next morning, Lin Sisi got up very early and even made breakfast.

"Well, you've inherited some of Aunt Lin's skills."

"It's probably three or four points."

Lin Sisi peeled a boiled egg and placed it in Shi Xia's bowl, asking, "Did you fall asleep last night?"

"She's asleep." Shi Xia was just kidding; she really wasn't asleep.

Strangely, she wasn't actually that worried about Wen Chengan's safety; she just felt uneasy about having one less person.

Habits are truly a terrible thing.

Upon hearing this, Lin Sisi exclaimed admiringly, "You're amazing! I was so worried. Every time I closed my eyes, all I could see were terrible images in my mind. Then I started telling myself that it was all fake, all fake, and that I should hurry up and go to sleep, and not think about it. What if it came true?"

"As a result, my mind was a mess, and I had dreams all night."

Lin Sisi chattered on and on all morning. Before leaving, she took her blanket and told Shi Xia that she wouldn't be coming over tonight and that she needed to get used to her own little life.

"Okay, call me if you need anything."

"Yeah, knowing you live behind my house makes me feel much more at ease."

Lin Sisi left because she had to go to work.

Shi Xia had some free time, so she simply returned to Hai San Island and took the fishermen out to sea to fish.

For three consecutive days, Shi Xia went out to sea to fish.

Every morning, she would leave the family compound and go to Hai San Island. After returning home, she would eat the meal her grandfather had prepared, and then take the fishermen out to sea to fish. She would return around four or five in the afternoon, eat her meal, and then go back to the family compound.

On this day, Shi Xia had just returned and hadn't even entered the family compound when she was called away at the gate of the military base.

For some reason, her heart skipped a beat.

Shi Xia followed the young soldier to Commander Wei's office, where all the top leaders of the army were located.

Shi Xia's face darkened. She went inside and sat down.

"Shi Xia, Wen Cheng'an's team of eight went on a mission. Logically, we should have picked them up today, but we didn't. They must have run into trouble."

“We are arranging for someone to go in to meet you. We believe you have the right to know, so we called you here.”

Shi Xia nodded and asked what the mission was.

“One of our Chinese cargo ships was hijacked by pirates. On board were not only normal cargo, but also, more importantly, our scientific researchers who were arranged to return on the cargo ship.”

"Currently, they are being held hostage by pirates, just like the crew members. Wen Chengan's team is here to rescue this person."

Shi Xia understood, stood up, and looked at the map.

"Pirates? Here?"

"Yes."

Chief Wei nodded, and Shi Xia, her eyes fixed on that one spot, asked, "Are they very brazen? How much have they hijacked?"

"They are rampant, and their weapons are very advanced. They must be backed by someone."

Shi Xia thought so too.

This world naturally shows you its beautiful side; it doesn't let you know the dark side of many things.

"I need the information."

"can."

Shi Xia took the documents, quickly flipped through them, and memorized the basic information of the researchers and crew members.

Not only that, she also looked at the information of the other team members besides Wen Cheng'an, as well as the information of the team that went to pick them up.

After memorizing everything, Shi Xia stood up.

“I will go. You need not consider my existence in any of your actions and arrangements.”

Chief Wei understood. Shi Xia was a surprise card; no one knew what she would do, including herself.

"Shi Xia, be careful. You can't have legal status if you encounter danger abroad, do you understand?"

"know."

When Wen Cheng'an and his comrades go on missions, they don't keep anything that represents their identity. If they die, they are just unclaimed corpses.

Shi Xia left without alerting anyone.

The people on Haisan Island thought she was in the family compound, and the people in the family compound thought she was on Haisan Island.

In reality, Shi Xia left the seabed alone and headed to the famous strait in Southeast Asia—MLJ.
Shi Xia moved very fast. She left the seabed, and Little Eagle and Little Gold were called out by her whistle and flew far away.

As night fell, Shi Xia landed on a shore.
