Chapter 21 Who is the thief?
Before I could wait, I really thought about it. If it was really a rescue team, should I follow them?

A group of people rushed out of the building.

After the crackling sound of gunfire, there was the sound of a car starting.

When Shi Nianzhen saw someone coming towards her, she immediately squatted down to prevent the passing cars from seeing her.

Five cars in a row passed by her car and went in the direction she came from.

If you drive in this direction, you will arrive at the shopping mall that she has emptied out.

She raised her head slightly and watched them leave through the rearview mirror.

Many of the zombies around were also attracted away by their movements.

"If they are going to look for supplies, I hope they won't be too disappointed." Shi Nianzhen whispered.

Shi Nianzhen waited patiently.

She didn't get out until she could no longer see or hear the car, and then she drove to the downstairs of her house.

This neighborhood is full of apartment buildings.

Not big, but very new.

Most of the people living here are actors who work in the film and television city all year round.

For example, someone like Shi Nianzhen.

I come here when I need to join the crew for filming, and leave when I have to go back to school. The house has been vacant for more than half a year.

At least half of the houses in the community are in this condition.

There are relatively few zombies here.

After the killing by that group of people just now, there are even fewer zombies.

As soon as Shi Nianzhen entered the front door, he saw several zombies lying in a mess, with dark red blood flowing all over the ground, and they were trampled into a mess.

It looks like the team just now killed him.

"Oh, what a find!"

Shi Nian was really happy to throw them all into the warehouse, and found that these people's methods of killing zombies were not as good as those of mechanical dogs and drones, but they were also very efficient.

Whether it was a gunshot wound or a knife wound, there were very few mistakes, and most of them were headshots.

He is more agile than her and it is obvious that he is not an ordinary person.

Could it be the rescue team?

The thought of the rescue team she had waited for so long, who didn't come until she walked out of the house, finally came after she no longer needed help.

Shi Nianzhen felt a little complicated.

If she hadn't chosen to leave the house, she wouldn't have been able to wait for the rescue team.

"In the end, people can only rely on themselves."

Shi Nianzhen climbed the stairs and collected the zombies on the ground along the way. He collected two more in the corridor at the door of his house.

I gained a lot along the way.

Shi Nianzhen walked through the security gate with a satisfied smile, but when she saw the scene in front of her, her eyes almost popped out of her head in shock.

"Hold the grass?"

The door was wide open, the lock was broken, and the entrance was a mess with footprints.

His heart beat rapidly as Shi Nianzhen rushed into the house. He took one step and froze at the door again.

"Aren't those people a rescue team? They came to my house looking for supplies?"

Shi Nianzhen had a hunch that something was wrong, so she looked at the neighbor's house diagonally across the street. The door there was intact.

Along the way, the zombies that were killed were all in the corridor, and the fresh bloody footprints never left the corridor.

In other words, those people went straight to her house.

Then she couldn't go in, in case there was someone else inside.

Shi Nianzhen was panicking, but her mind was calm. She immediately sent a drone in.

"No, no, I don't hate my enemies so much that they want to kill me at the end of the world."

"Is that to rescue me?"

"But you left without seeing me?"

That can't be to save her.

What are you looking for?
Is it something useful in the end times?

Otherwise, it would be impossible to explain why these people came here specifically.

Shi Nianzhen was thinking a lot in an instant. Only half a minute later, the drone reported that it was safe.

Leaving the mechanical dog standing guard at the door, Shi Nianzhen walked into the house where he had been hiding for two months.

After passing the entrance hall, there is the living room. It is not big but the south-facing floor-to-ceiling windows make it very bright.

After the end of the world, Shi Nianzhen felt desperate every day while hiding here.

Every day when I wake up, I stand by the window and watch to see if the zombies have disappeared, if anyone has gotten out, if the rescue team has arrived...

The longer she waited, the more desperate she became. Later, she no longer waited by the window, but lay down in various places in the house, on the bed, sofa, carpet, floor, bathtub... When she was most desperate, she rolled on every inch of the floor.

I broke down and cried, but it didn't help.

Standing here again at this moment, Shi Nian really felt that he had probably used up all the despair in his life.

Especially when she was stabbed by Zhou Qing, it probably drained away her last bit of despair and drove her to madness.

Shi Nianzhen recalled her previous despair and thought of the power she now possessed.

The panic in my heart disappeared.

Just do it and that's it.

The living room is a mess.

Apart from specifically encouraging myself and saying that I would definitely clean up the house a little during the few days when the rescue team arrived, the rest of the time I either lay down to sleep or read a book to distract myself.

Books and papers were scattered all over the place.

Pillows and blankets were also piled haphazardly on the floor.

She hardly cleaned the house in the past two months, and there were used tissues and fallen hair everywhere from crying.

It's like a doghouse, and even a burglary cannot create such a mess.

Shi Nianzhen came in and took a look around, but didn't find anything missing.

Shi Nianzhen's brows furrowed tighter and tighter as he rushed into the bedroom.

As soon as she came in she noticed something was missing.

On the bedside table!

Her mother left it to her!

The red notebook is gone!

Everything written there was specially written by her mother, the life experience she left for her.

Tell her how to deal with any situation she encounters.

It is the mother version of "One Hundred Thousand What to Do".

That notebook has helped her overcome one difficulty after another since her mother passed away when she was twelve years old.

Shi Nianzhen gritted her teeth, tears in her eyes, and resisted the urge to search the room immediately. She forced her throat open, called for a drone, and scanned every corner of the room before she began to look.

The two-bedroom, two-living-room house is not big, and she doesn't live here for long, so she can basically see everything at a glance.

Shi Nianzhen searched the house three times at the fastest speed in his life.

Everything else is still there, except the notebook.

Shi Nianzhen stood in a messy room, her teeth chattering.

"Who is it?"

She couldn't bear it any longer and punched the wall, which cracked with a sound.

Shi Nianzhen's chest heaved a few times. He smashed the window glass with one punch, broke the guardrail with two punches, and extended the drone out.

"Go find those who just left."

"Especially if they've searched the room and left fingerprints."

"Report your whereabouts immediately upon finding them."

Shi Nianzhen pointed in the direction those people left and immediately let go.

The drone flew away at top speed.

Shi Nianzhen looked back at the messy room, trying hard to suppress the anger in his heart, forcing himself to calm down and think about who would come to take the book.

Not many people know about that notebook.

An assistant, an agent, and a few close friends.

Except for the assistant, no one is in Shudian City.

But the assistant sister is from an ordinary family and shouldn’t know anyone with a gun.

Even if she knew, the experience written in that notebook would be useless in the end times.

It’s not just for the few recipes in it, right?

The assistant’s cooking skills are better than my mom’s, so she wouldn’t come and steal.

Shi Nianzhen couldn't understand why the notebook was valuable to the assistant.

If you can't figure it out, you can only verify it.

She bought a warehouse specifically to store the things in this house.

I hope I oversaw it.

But even after putting everything in, there was still no notebook.

Shi Nianzhen stood in the empty house, clenching his fists.

"Very good, no matter who you are, don't let me catch you, otherwise you will be dead!"
