Chapter 21: Making Trouble

Han Hui checked her watch. It was half past two. With the guerrillas equipped with defenses and the weapons she had provided, they should have no trouble dealing with the Japanese given their advantageous position. However, her marksmanship wasn't great, and her combat experience wasn't extensive. Staying with the guerrillas to fight the Japanese wouldn't be very effective. On the other hand, she could bring her strengths to bear once she reached the county seat.

Before dark, Han Hui rushed to the outskirts of the county town and entered the city using the old method.

When Hei Hu saw Han Hui, he frowned and said, "Why are you going into the city again? Didn't I tell you to come back after the storm is over?"

Han Hui said helplessly, "My sister has a fever, and the medicine prescribed by the barefoot doctor is useless. She's had a fever for two days and it hasn't subsided. If it continues, she'll become a fool. My parents are at their wits' end. We have no choice but to go to the city to get medicine."

There is really no way to save your life by waiting for medicine.

Han Hui asked, "Brother Hu, do you have any canned food here? Canned luncheon meat and canned ham are our favorites. I want to buy some more."

When you can’t cook, canned luncheon meat and canned ham are good choices.

Hei Hu said he had sold her all the canned goods he had stockpiled. "We've known each other for so long, and I still don't know your real name?"

"Jiang Cheng."

Hei Hu knew it was a fake name the moment he heard it, but he still praised it for being nice: "I've sold all my canned goods to you. These past few days, things have been so tense that everyone's hiding and no one dares to do business, but..."

Seeing him deliberately pause, Han Hui said tactfully, "But what?"

Hei Hu said, "But I know that Gangcun Linzuo has all kinds of goods, and in large quantities."

Han Hui had heard of this name before, and said with a half-smile, "This Gangcun Linzuo is from the same hometown as Pingtian Guangquan. It is said that he has a big business."

Hei Hu didn't expect that she actually knew all this. "Yes, the goods like biscuits and canned meat in Fengxian are all obtained from him. If anyone dares to purchase goods from other places, he will use all kinds of insidious tricks to kill you if he finds out."

Since ancient times, monopoly business has been the most profitable. Gangcun Linzuo has the military as his backing, so he naturally acts arrogantly.

"What, you have a grudge against him?"

Hei Hu admitted frankly, "Yes, I lost six of my brothers to him, and the families of three of them were killed by this beast."

Han Hui knew he was trying to kill someone with a borrowed knife, but she didn't care: "Pingtian brought a large number of troops to encircle and suppress the guerrillas today. Now the county town is empty. If you want to take action, tonight is the best opportunity."

Hei Hu didn't expect Han Hui to be so well-informed. He used to be worried about Hirata Hiroizumi and didn't dare to attack Gangcun Linzuo, but now he wants to take a gamble: "You say, as long as I can do it, I will do it without hesitation."

Han Hui wanted to go big: "I want to make tonight a nightmare for the traitors and Japanese invaders in Feng County, as well as their families."

Hei Hu was a smart man and immediately understood what she meant: "Gangcun has something. If you can get it, your plan can be implemented."

"what?"

"Fire oil."

After Hei Hu's explanation, Han Hui understood that kerosene was a flammable substance just like gasoline, but the flash point of kerosene was much lower.

Hei Hu lowered his voice and said, "Pour the kerosene into a glass bottle and throw it out. When the bottle breaks, the kerosene will explode and burn."

Han Hui's eyes lit up. This was a great item, perfect for the situation. She asked, "Where can I get kerosene and a glass bottle?" Hei Hu said he could get the glass bottle, but he couldn't get the kerosene.

Han Hui understood. They were trying to use her to kill Gangcun and get the kerosene. But it didn't matter. She was there to cause trouble anyway, so killing one more Japanese merchant would be easy. She didn't hesitate and asked Heihu to take her there.

Hei Hu was waiting for Han Hui to say this, but he also had his own plan: "Gangcun lives not far from the security team. He can attract the security team by shouting a few times. He has hired six bodyguards himself."

If someone wanted to assassinate Gangcun at home, they only needed to shout and the security team would arrive. In this case, killing him would easily get themselves involved. As for assassinating him outside, it would be difficult to rely on luck without knowing his whereabouts.

Han Hui frowned and asked, "You want me to assassinate Gangcun? It's too dangerous. My parents and brother won't agree."

He made up a story for himself to confuse Hei Hu and prevent her from tracing his true identity.

Hei Hu shook his head and said, "No. Gangcun loves money like his life. If he knew that something went wrong in his shop, he would definitely rush over."

He planned to set up an ambush on the way to the shop and kill Gangcun as soon as he showed up. He knew Han Hui's ability and just wanted to avenge his brother himself.

Her life was at stake. She knew that if she failed in the game, she would also die in real life, so Han Hui was very cautious: "Where is the shop?"

"Zhuangyuan Street."

This Zhuangyuan Street is the most lively and prosperous street in Fengxian County, and it sells high-end goods that ordinary people cannot afford.

Han Hui deliberately frowned and remained silent. Emptying the Japanese shop wouldn't be a burden. She didn't respond immediately because she was worried that if she agreed too quickly, Hei Hu would have other ideas.

Hei Hu thought she killed the traitors and was worried about harming innocent people: "The shops on Zhuangyuan Street are basically owned by relatives of the Japanese or merchants. Even if there is a fire, the losses will be suffered by those Japanese."

Han Hui wanted to empty the goods from the Gangcun shops, but Hei Hu wanted to burn down the Japanese shops and their goods. Setting them on fire would be even better, because if the warehouses were empty, Hei Hu would think of the Japanese granaries and arsenals.

Han Hui said, "Give me a barrel of gasoline."

Hei Hu immediately went to the back and brought out a bucket of gasoline. He said to Han Hui, "Let's meet up at the house we met last time. There are a lot of glass bottles stored there."

If something goes wrong, just leave through the tunnel. If you are not discovered, just be a kerosene bottle there.

After Han Hui agreed, she followed Hei Hu to Zhuangyuan Street. The two of them were in an alley, and Hei Hu pointed to the largest shop across the street and said, "That's Gangcun's shop. They sell things in the front, and the back is a warehouse. But everyone in there has a gun, so be careful."

Han Hui looked at her watch and said, "It's half past eight now. I'll start at ten o'clock."

This amount of time is enough for Black Tiger to prepare.

After watching Hei Hu leave, Han Hui went to the puppet government office building. Although it was night, many rooms were lit, and the innermost room on the left side of the second floor was still busy. With the Japanese army entering the mountains, these traitors were also busy.

After inspecting the pseudo-government office building, Han Hui went to the granary. The security was much tighter than her first visit. Not only were there more soldiers and patrols guarding the gates, but there were also sentries in the courtyard, and people were even living inside the granary. Fortunately, the security had been lax before, otherwise not a single grain of food would have been transported.

Han Hui did not go to the garrison. The defense there must be tighter than the granary, so there was no need to waste time.
