Chapter 645 The child's essence is pure.

"Xiaocao, thank you for the compliment, I'm honored." Jiang Die's eyes lit up with a smile, and she reached out to pat Xiaocao's head. "How about I take you and Xiaoguang to get your hair done this weekend?"

Xiaocao didn't respond, but gently reminded her, "Sister Xiaodie, hurry up and take Zhanzhan and Momo to school, it's almost time."

"Okay." Jiang Die smiled and patted Xiaoguang's head. "See you tonight."

Xiaocao and Xiaoguang watched Jiang Die, Zhanzhan, and Momo walk out.

Zeng Guilin said softly, "Xiaocao, Xiaoguang, come and have breakfast."

After the siblings finished breakfast, they started helping with the housework.

When Deng Rui and Jiang Dashan came downstairs and saw this scene, they said helplessly, "Xiaocao, Xiaoguang, why are you working again? If Yuanyuan sees this, she'll scold me again."

It must have been tough for Zeng Guilin to clean up such a large villa all by herself. She had been looking for a new housekeeper, but no matter how many she looked, none of them were to her liking.

Xiaocao stuck out her tongue. "Aunt Rui, we were just about to help when you found out."

"Stop doing that, I'll help when I get home from get off work," Jiang Dashan advised. "At your age, your most important thing is to focus on your studies. Haven't you chosen a new school yet?"

Deng Rui: "I'll ask Yuan Yuan in a bit, you go have breakfast first."

"Okay." Jiang Dashan nodded.

As he finished breakfast and was about to leave, he reminded her, "Rui, remember to ask Yuan Yuan if she can handle it. If not, I'll try to find some connections. If you fall too far behind in your studies, you won't be able to catch up."

Xiaocao and Xiaoguang watched Jiang Dashan leave.

"How strange," Xiaoguang muttered.

Upon hearing this, Deng Rui asked curiously, "Xiaoguang, what's so strange?"

Xiaoguang looked at her, his childish face showing confusion and bewilderment: "Why are some fathers good, and some fathers so bad?"

Upon hearing this, Deng Rui sighed softly to herself.

She gently stroked Xiaoguang's head and said in a soft tone, "People are sometimes like flowers. Some flowers bloom beautifully and vibrantly, while others wither and rot."

"I see." Xiaoguang nodded, seemingly understanding.

Recalling his sister's embrace of Zhanzhan and Momo just now, he looked at Deng Rui, hesitant to speak.

Deng Rui could tell he had something to say but was hesitant to say it, so she asked with amusement, "Xiaoguang, is there something you want to tell me?"

"Yes!" Xiaoguang nodded vigorously, mustering his courage to ask, "Aunt Rui, can I hug you?"

"Hug me?" Deng Rui's eyes lit up with a smile, and she happily agreed, "Okay."

Xiaoguang leaned closer, and his small body was quickly enveloped in a warm and soft embrace.

Deng Rui subconsciously raised her hand to pat his back, then turned her head to look at Xiao Cao, smiling and asking, "Xiao Cao, do you want a hug?"

Xiaocao nodded her head like a chick pecking at rice.

Deng Rui reached out her hand to her, "Come here quickly."

Xiaocao leaned in without hesitation, feeling instantly at ease as she was enveloped in a warm embrace.

But what followed was a huge sense of despondency, and her eyes quietly reddened.

Meanwhile, the cats and dogs in the courtyard outside were discussing what Xiaocao had just said, and slowly realized that something was wrong.

Blueberry frowned: "Are Xiaocao and Xiaoguang leaving?"

Pudding guessed, "Maybe it's because Xiaocao just said she was going to read the ancient poem one last time."

Xixi couldn't help but worry: "Teacher Xiaocao is gone, so who will teach us from now on?"

Bubu, however, was secretly pleased: "Isn't it good not to have class? Those sentences are too difficult, I can't remember them!" "No, I have to go find Yuan Yuan and ask her clearly." After saying that, Blueberry left with light cat steps.

Jiang Yuan didn't get a good night's rest. As the sky outside her window gradually turned from pitch black to pale white, and finally, as the light of day broke, she quietly made a major decision in her heart.

Jiang Yuan gently lifted the air-conditioning blanket and stepped off the bed onto the soft carpet.

She finished washing up and had just stepped out of the room when Blueberry jumped in through the window.

Only Fu Xiaoxiao was sleeping soundly in bed.

Blueberry turned and walked toward the bathroom, her footsteps as light as a feather falling to the ground.

The bathroom was quiet.

Unable to find anyone, Blueberry nimbly slipped away through the window.

When Jiang Yuan arrived on the first floor, she could see Xiao Cao and Xiao Guang snuggling up to Deng Rui on the sofa in the living room, watching TV with her. A sense of comforting warmth filled the air.

She stopped in her tracks, then turned and walked towards the garden, taking out her phone to dial Deng Rui's number.

Deng Rui paused for a moment when she saw the caller ID before answering, "Yuan Yuan, what's wrong?"

Xiaocao and Xiaoguang suddenly froze, and the suppressed sense of loss in their hearts resurfaced.

The siblings assumed Jiang Yuan was calling because people from the welfare agency had arrived and Deng Rui needed to escort them to the door.

After Deng Rui hung up the phone, both siblings were very nervous.

"Xiaocao, Xiaoguang, you two look around first, I have something to do." Deng Rui said softly before getting up and walking towards the garden.

Blueberry rushed to Jiang Yuan's side first and asked hurriedly, "Yuan Yuan, are Xiao Cao and Xiao Guang leaving?"

Jiang Yuan looked down at it, raising an eyebrow slightly: "Blueberry, how did you know?"

“Xiaocao told us,” Blueberry sighed. “She said she would read the ancient poem to us one last time today, but the more we think about it, the more something seems off.”

Jiang Yuan squatted down in front of Blueberry, stroked its fur, and said with a smile, "Don't worry, Xiaocao and Xiaoguang won't leave."

Blueberry's cat-like eyes widened: "Really?"

Jiang Yuan nodded: "Really, when have I ever lied to you?"

Blueberry tilted her head and thought for a moment, then realized there really wasn't one. "Then I'll go tell everyone the news."

“Okay.” Jiang Yuan smiled.

As Blueberry was leaving, she saw Deng Rui arrive, meowed "Mom," and then, with a cheerful cat-like gait, transformed into a little cheetah and dashed away.

"Yuan Yuan, what happened?" Deng Rui's heart jumped when she heard the serious tone in Yuan Yuan's voice on the phone.

Jiang Yuan pursed her lips and said softly, "Mom, Si Heng said yesterday that he found a welfare institution that can accept both Xiaocao and Xiaoguang..."

Deng Rui frowned and interrupted her, "Should we send them to a welfare institution?"

Jiang Yuan explained, "Yes, that's the normal procedure. None of Xiaocao and Xiaoguang's relatives are willing to take on the role of guardians and raise them..."

Deng Rui's eyes instantly reddened, and her voice choked with emotion: "The two children have had such a hard time, going through something like this, and then going to an orphanage like that..."

She was a sentimental and soft-hearted person, and the thought of Xiaocao and Xiaoguang being helpless made her heart ache.

Deng Rui gripped the hem of her clothes tightly and asked anxiously, "Yuan Yuan, can't we let them stay at our house like this for now? At least until they recover from the grief of losing their mother..."

She really liked Xiaocao and Xiaoguang. Although they used to sell rotten fruit at the market to cheat people out of money, they were forced to do it by heartless people. It wasn't their intention. The two kids were innocent at heart.
