Chapter 60: The Ship Crashes
"Report to the Admiral!" A panicked soldier's voice shattered the tranquil atmosphere within the ship. "Radar has detected multiple unidentified aircraft approaching us at an extremely high speed. We've entered tracking mode!"

Bai Leon's expression froze when he heard this. He gently placed the sleeping Su Yaoyao on the floating chair beside him, took a few steps to the operating table, and stared at the holographic screen.

On the screen, the icon representing the spaceship was surrounded by densely packed flashing red dots, like a group of vicious wolves waiting for an opportunity to strike.

"Turn on stealth mode and go around." Bai Leon gave the order without thinking, his voice low but full of unquestionable majesty.

The soldier quickly tapped on the keyboard, activating the ship's stealth system, and a faint blue light appeared around the ship.

However, just a moment later, the soldier reported again in a desperate tone: "General, we can't get around, the enemy is still approaching!" Everyone's heart sank, and a chill instantly surged into their hearts.

Those small aircraft were extremely fast and caught up with the flying ship in the blink of an eye.

They surrounded the flying ship in a triangular formation, and then shot out black energy beams from the front of the aircraft, like sharp blades, piercing the flying ship directly.

The airship shook violently, the alarm sounded sharply, and the lights in the cabin flickered.

"Everyone, enter combat mode! Activate defensive shields!" Bai Leon roared, his voice drowning out the alarms and roars. "Prepare for a counterattack!"

Rig and Pani quickly took their positions. Rig rushed to the weapon control area, operating his hands rapidly, trying to lock onto the enemy aircraft and counterattack; Pani focused on the defense system, trying his best to maintain the strength of the shield.

"What's going on?" Su Yaoyao was awakened by the alarm, with a hint of panic in her sleepy eyes.

"Don't be afraid, everything will be fine." Bai Leon comforted Su Yaoyao while paying close attention to the battle situation.

The soldiers stood on full alert, holding their weapons tightly, ready to deal with any enemy that might break through the shield.

A thrilling interstellar air battle has begun.

Under the enemy's violent attack, the energy shield of the flying ship flickered like a candle in the wind, emitting a "sizzling" whine of its dying. Every impact of the energy beam caused the ship to tremble violently, and items in the cabin flew everywhere, creating a mess.

Bai Leon stared at the screen, his eyes sharp as a torch, his brain working rapidly, trying to find a way out. He decisively ordered:

"Rig, concentrate your firepower on the enemy's leading aircraft and disrupt their attack formation! Pani, pay attention to adjusting the shield energy distribution and prioritize protecting the engine and cockpit!"

The two responded quickly, but everything seemed futile in the face of the enemy's overwhelming technological advantage.

Rig's hands danced wildly on the weapon control panel, veins bulged on his forehead, and sweat blurred his vision. He tried his best to lock onto the target and pressed the launch button. The ship's weapon system sprayed out streams of fiery artillery fire.

However, the enemy aircraft easily avoided the attack with its advanced avoidance system.

The enemy's offensive became increasingly fierce, with more energy beams shooting towards the flying ship like dense arrows, and the cracks on the shield spread rapidly like a spider web.

Pani's fingers danced mechanically on the defense system control keys, his face as pale as paper, and his voice trembled with despair: "The shield energy is only 10% left, it can't hold on!"

Just as he finished speaking, a thick beam of energy hit the engine of the spaceship, causing a violent explosion instantly. Flames shot up into the sky, and the spaceship lost control like a kite with a broken string, falling towards an unknown desolate land.

The sounds of alarms, explosions, and people's screams in the cabin were intertwined. Su Yaoyao widened her eyes in horror. Bai Leon protected her tightly behind him, using his body to block the flying debris for her.

"Bai Leon..." Su Yaoyao's voice trembled, tears welled up in her eyes, and fear overwhelmed her like a tide.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here," Bai Leon comforted her, but his eyes also revealed a hint of hopelessness. Under the immense force of the crash, the ship's hull was torn open, its instruments and equipment damaged, and thick, acrid smoke and dazzling sparks billowed out.

Bai Leon hugged Su Yaoyao tightly, while Rig and Pani also huddled in the corner. No one knew whether they would live or die this time.

With a deafening roar, the flying ship crashed heavily into the desolate land, raising a cloud of dust that lingered for a long time.

The desolate land fell into silence again, with only the occasional "hissing" sound of metal cooling from the wreckage of the spaceship.

After an unknown amount of time, a small landing craft with a strange shape slowly landed next to the wreckage of the spaceship.

The hatch opened, and a group of people in black tight combat uniforms filed out. They wore special protective masks on their faces, revealing only a pair of cold eyes.

The leader was a tall man who walked slowly towards the wreckage of the spaceship with steady steps and searched among the ruins.

The moonlight shone on him, outlining his stern features. His eyes revealed indifference and ruthlessness, as if he disdained everything in front of him.

"Lord, here!" one of the men shouted excitedly.

Mingye walked over quickly and saw Bai Leon, Rig and Pani lying in a mess under a pile of wreckage, covered in wounds.

The blood had long since dried, forming dark red scabs on their dusty faces and torn clothes.

Mingye looked at the mess in front of him, a mocking sneer on his lips, his voice low but clear, with undisguised contempt:
"The flying ships developed by the Empire are simply garbage." The tone of his voice was as if he was standing on top of the world and looked down on everything.

Suddenly, Mingye's gaze froze. He keenly noticed that Bai Leon's posture was extremely strange. His body was curled up protectively, with his arms tightly protected under his body, as if he was hiding some rare treasure.

Mingye's dark green pupils narrowed slightly, like a poisonous snake ready to strike, dangerous and alert.

Without any hesitation, he suddenly raised his foot and kicked Bai Leon with all his strength.

Bai Leon's body was kicked away and fell heavily to the side, revealing Su Yaoyao under him.

In an instant, Mingye's pupils suddenly contracted, and a hint of disbelief flashed in his eyes. It was a female!
The men around him also let out a loud exclamation. It was the first time they had seen such a beautiful female.

Under the moonlight, Su Yaoyao's face was like a fairy in a dream. Even though she was unconscious, it was difficult to hide her innate softness and fragility.

These men, who were used to seeing blood and cruelty, were stunned.

"Take him away!" Ming Ye ordered without hesitation, his voice filled with unquestionable majesty.

The men stepped forward quickly, but just as they took a step, Mingye stopped them sternly: "No, I'll do it myself." There was a hint of urgency in his tone that he himself didn't even notice.

Mingye squatted beside Su Yaoyao and picked her up. He found that the little female's body was so soft as if she had no bones, and his movements became much gentler.

He returned to the landing craft, and his men followed him in one after another.

The hatch slowly closed, as if quietly closing an unknown fate.
