Chapter 1560 Panic
Grandpa Xiao didn't rush back to his ancestral home after this trip.

It was a rare occasion for the whole family to be together. He turned to his second grandson, Xiao Wanli, who had just returned from the countryside, and said, "Now that you're back, work hard. I've already spoken to people, and you should hear news about your wife's job soon."

Xiao Wanli was very grateful: "Grandpa, I understand. Don't worry, I will work hard and won't bring shame to the family."

Hearing this, Guo Yan'er, who was sitting not far away, quickly said, "Thank you, Grandpa."

The old man's eyes were full of satisfaction. When the family needed someone to go to the countryside, his second grandson volunteered. It wasn't that he couldn't keep the person there, but his second grandson resolutely went to the countryside for the sake of the family.

Even though I've retired now, I can still arrange a job for my granddaughter-in-law, as a way of making it up to them.

The old man looked at his two grandsons-in-law who had rushed over from the military and said, "Kunming has been transferred back to the Beijing military unit for some time now, and he should have adapted by now. Although you and Yancheng are not in the same unit, I hope you can help each other out."

The two naturally nodded in agreement: "Grandpa, don't worry, we'll remember."

Then he looked at his eldest son, Xiao Changjiang: "Changjiang, you are the eldest son, so the family is in your hands from now on."

For some reason, Xiao Changjiang felt a little flustered when he heard his father say these things: "Dad..."

Just as he was about to say something, he heard Old Master Xiao say, "I've worked hard all my life, it's time for me to enjoy my retirement. From now on, unless there's something else, your Aunt Miao and I won't leave the clan's territory anymore, and this family will be in your hands."

As he spoke, he looked at Miao Yiqiu beside him and took a metal box from her hand: "Changjiang, this is what I prepared for you. You can distribute it to him."

Everyone looked at each other, unsure of what was wrong with the old man.

Xiao Changjiang opened the tin box and found a stack of cash and several bankbooks.

When he saw it clearly, he was stunned: "Dad, what's this?"

Old Master Xiao smiled and said, "It's better to distribute some things to you while I'm still sober, so as to avoid future conflicts."

There were two savings accounts with 2,000 yuan each, one for the son and two savings accounts with 1,000 yuan each for the second grandson, Xiao Wanli, and the youngest grandson, Xiao Wanheng, also known as Xiao Shitou. It's self-explanatory; one account was compensation given to him for Xiao Wanli's rural assignment, and the other was a direct compensation for Xiao Shitou's future needs since he was still young.

Next are three savings accounts with 600 yuan each, for my eldest grandson Xiao Wancheng, my third grandson Xiao Wanpeng, and my daughter Xiao Nianchun.

The last daughter gave a savings book with 300 yuan, and each great-grandchild received 50 yuan, including the one in Duan Ruirui's belly.

No one expected that the old man still had money. They wanted to say something but didn't know how to start.

Seeing that the tin box was empty, the old man smiled and said, "I won't say any more. Just keep it safe, work hard, live a good life, and help each other out."

After the family reunion dinner, the old man and his wife returned to their ancestral home the next day.

Xiao's mother originally wanted Chuxue to stay a few more days, but Fu Yancheng drove to pick her up on the agreed day.

She looked at her grandchildren, then at her son, and tried to negotiate, "Yancheng, they're doing quite well here. How about letting them stay a little longer?"

Fu Yancheng looked at Chu Xue and asked her with his eyes: What's going on?
Chu Xue gave him a look that said, "Tell me later," and quickly said, "Mom, Aunt Wei's grandson is still young. We can't let the grandmother and grandson be separated for too long. If Aunt Wei goes back first, I won't be able to take care of him."

Fu Yancheng chimed in, "When I have time off, I'll bring them back for a short stay. I just hope Mom won't mind how noisy we are."

Aunt Wei had already packed her things neatly and was just waiting for the order.

When they arrived at the family compound and found only the couple inside, Fu Yancheng asked, "What's going on?"

While changing her daughter's diaper, Chu Xue said, "Of course, she took a liking to Aunt Wei, who was a great help. You don't know, ever since Aunt Wei left, she has handed over all the household chores to Aunt Wei."

He glanced at the door and said, "No matter what I say, she always finds a way to shut me down. Luckily, you responded in time, or I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to control myself and would have turned on her."
