Chapter 610 I Don't Want to See Him
Receiving her smile and understanding, Yan Lie's tense nerves finally relaxed completely, and a relieved smile appeared on his handsome face: "Okay, where are you going? I'll go with you."

"No need, I'm going to check on Chief Jiaoyuan. You take care of the kids and play. I'll be back soon."

Seeing that Hua Han and Xin Feng were with her, Yan Lie thought for a moment and nodded in agreement: "Then come back soon."

"Okay," Bai Wanwan smiled and waved to him before leaving with Xin Feng and Hua Han.

After they walked through the open area near their home, they reached the Tiger Clan's spacious main street.

She saw many newly joined foreign beastmen faces. The anxiety on their faces seemed to have dissipated a lot. They were working and talking with the tiger beastmen. She could even see cubs from several different tribes playing together.

Under the sunlight, the tribe was in perfect order.

The sturdy stone houses were arranged in a neat and orderly fashion, and the drying animal hides and cured meats indicated an ample food reserve. The male and female animals and their cubs wore smiles on their faces. Everything was in stark contrast to the dilapidated and desolate tribes she had seen outside, as if it were a peaceful oasis in a chaotic world.

Orcs who know her, whether of their own kind or not, will stop in their tracks and greet her respectfully and warmly: "Holy Mother Bai Wanwan!"

His voice was filled with sincere respect.

Bai Wanwan responded with a smile to each of them.

Jiaoyuan waited at his residence for a long time, but his female cub still did not come. A look of anxiety flashed across his mature and dignified face.

Just then, a male tiger carrying prey passed by. He reached out and stopped him, intending to ask directly where his female cubs lived so he could go find them himself.

Just as he was about to speak, he caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of his eye.

Frost!

His gaze involuntarily locked onto that graceful yet aloof profile.

Seemingly sensing that an orc was looking at her, Shuanghua raised her head.

Their eyes met.

However, Shuanghua's eyes remained completely unmoved, as if she were looking at a pebble on the roadside. She slowly turned her gaze away and continued walking forward without even pausing for a moment.

An indescribable emotion—whether it was anger, confusion, or something else—instantly seized Jiao Yuan.

He immediately gave up asking questions, turned around without hesitation, and strode after him.

Shuanghua hadn't gone far when a tall figure blocked her way.

Jiaoyuan completely ignored the barely noticeable male next to her, his gaze fixed solely on Shuanghua. His voice was deep, carrying the habitual oppressive air of someone long accustomed to being in a superior position, yet also containing a hint of displeasure born from being ignored, which he himself was unaware of: "Shuanghua."

Shuanghua stopped in her tracks, but instead of looking at him, she gently said to the male orc beside her who seemed somewhat at a loss because of Jiaoyuan's appearance, "Let's go home."

She tried to bypass Jiaoyuan and continue on her way.

This deliberate neglect caused an unnamed fire to suddenly ignite in Jiao Yuan's heart.

He strode forward and blocked Shuanghua's path once again.

He was tall and imposing, exuding the awe-inspiring presence unique to a clan leader. He looked down at the familiar yet unfamiliar face. "Shuanghua, it's been so long. Why are you hiding when you see me?" Shuanghua was forced to stop and finally raised her eyes to meet his gaze.

Her eyes were calm, almost indifferent, and the familiar warmth of her memories was nowhere to be found.

"Hmm," she responded indifferently, her tone completely flat, "because I don't want to see you."

Don't you want to see him?

Jiao Yuan's brows furrowed instantly, forming a deep crease.

He had never seen Shuanghua treat him with such indifference, even with such clear rejection.

Despite the many differences in the past... they are blood relatives!

They are old friends with whom I have spent many years!
Why don't you want to see me?

His voice carried a hint of suppressed frustration and confusion as he tried to break the ice with their past relationship. "We are of the same race and grew up together. It's been so long since we last met. I wanted to see how you were doing."

Shuanghua seemed oblivious to the subtle softening in his words. Her reply remained concise and distant, even carrying a sense of distancing herself: "Now you see. With Wanwan in the Tiger Clan, I'm doing very well."

After saying that, it seemed there was nothing more to say between them.

Seeing Shuanghua turn to leave again, Jiaoyuan was driven by a strange mix of emotions and took another step forward almost subconsciously, trying to stop her once more.

However, this time, the unassuming male who had been quietly staying by Shuanghua's side took a firm step to the side and stood firmly in front of him.

Jiaoyuan's attention was entirely on Shuanghua, and he hadn't noticed the male beside him at all. After being blocked, a strange anger suddenly flared up. "Get out of the way!"

However, faced with his powerful aura, the male named Qiugang, though his expression was solemn, had an unusually firm gaze. He stood rooted to the spot, refusing to yield an inch, silently fulfilling his duty of protection.

Seeing this, Shuanghua frowned, her tone revealing obvious impatience and distance. She looked at Jiaoyuan and said clearly, "Jiaoyuan, there's nothing left to say between us. Please leave and don't disturb my life anymore. Qiugang, let's go."

After saying that, she didn't look at Jiao Yuan again and resolutely turned away.

Chief responded with an "Mm," remaining vigilant and carefully protecting Shuanghua's side. As she slowly left, his eyes remained fixed on Jiaoyuan's movements.

Jiaoyuan stood there, watching Shuanghua's figure gradually disappear under the protection of the male guards. This time, he did not chase after her.

A complex, somewhat powerless anger surged within him.

He watched Shuanghua's figure recede further and further away from him, as if she were about to leave his world, just like Wanwan.

After an unknown amount of time, or perhaps only a short while, a familiar voice sounded behind him, interrupting his turbulent thoughts.

"You're looking for me?"

It's curved!
The icy, oppressive aura surrounding Jiao Yuan receded instantly like a tide. He immediately suppressed all outward emotions and quickly turned around.

When his gaze fell upon Bai Wanwan standing not far away, a smile that could only be described as "kindness" appeared on his usually angular and stern face. His eyes softened, and his voice became gentle: "Wanwan, you've come?"

He paused, afraid that this sudden visit would seem abrupt, and quickly added with an explanation in his voice, "I heard that this continent has been in chaos lately, and your father is really worried about you, so I thought I'd come and see how you're doing."
