Chapter 534 The Tracking Bird Returns

After three days of non-stop flight, the familiar scenery below indicated that they were getting closer and closer to the Tiger Clan tribe.

The novelty of continuously riding in the "aircraft" has long been replaced by the fatigue of the long journey.

Bai Wanwan was held in Zhu Xiu's strong arms and found the most comfortable position to lean against. She slept in a daze most of the time, feeling as if her bones were about to be shaken apart.

She woke up again midway through, rubbed her sleepy eyes, sat up a little straighter, and peered down.

The mountain ranges revealed a familiar outline, and she asked in a hoarse voice, still groggy from just waking up, "How much longer until we arrive?"

“We’re getting closer,” Xin Feng, who had been keeping a close eye on their surroundings, replied with a gentle smile and handed her a water pouch. “I estimate we’ll be back in the tribe in about another day of travel.”

Bai Wanwan took the water pouch, took a sip, and stretched languidly, feeling her stiff muscles relax a bit: "That's great... This journey is too long. Luckily, Yin Ze is here, otherwise, just crossing the forests and mountains would take who knows how many days."

She sincerely remarked that flying had indeed greatly shortened travel time.

The little ones in the basket seemed to be awakened by her movements and voice. Their fluffy little heads popped out from the edge of the basket that Yan Lie was guarding, blinking their big round eyes and making soft "woof woof" sounds as they tried to climb out.

Shuanghua was also exhausted, so Yanlie took care of the cubs the whole way.

He carefully held the edge of the basket with his hands to prevent them from falling out: "Good boys, don't move around, it's dangerous up high."

Seeing this, Bai Wanwan stretched out her hand: "Here, give it to me, they've probably woken up and are hungry."

She took the heavy basket from the back and placed it beside her legs. Then she took out the prepared jerky strips from the animal skin bag she carried with her and handed them one by one to the little cubs who couldn't wait to stretch out their little paws.

The little ones sat obediently in the basket, holding the jerky bigger than their faces with their two little front paws, gnawing on it with great effort, making satisfied "gurgling" sounds. Their adorable appearance melted Bai Wanwan's heart, and she couldn't help but smile, her fatigue disappearing completely.

She reached out and gently poked the fluffy forehead of one of the tiger cubs, saying softly, "Little glutton, eat slowly. We'll be home soon, and you'll see your tiger father soon."

A slight pang of guilt crossed her mind when she thought about this.

When she was pregnant with these two cubs, Chief Rong was not by her side, and the cubs did not see their biological father beast for the first time until long after they were born.

The cubs didn't have the same worries she faced. After finishing a piece of jerky, they raised their wet, shiny eyes and stared at her longingly, clearly not having had enough.

Bai Wanwan smiled and shook her head, continuing to take out jerky and enjoy this brief but heartwarming feeding time.

Just then, the system in her mind suddenly issued a notification, followed by Peanut's distinctive electronic voice: "Host, the tracking bird's feedback signal indicates that it is circling in the nearby area. Please have Yin Ze land immediately."

Bai Wanwei's heart skipped a beat.

A tracking bird?
It's back? Does that mean... we've heard from Hua Han? Is he somewhere nearby?
"Yin Ze!" she blurted out almost immediately, without time to explain, her voice urgent, "Quick! Land! I have an emergency!"

Yin Ze did not hesitate at all when she spoke. The huge phoenix wings immediately adjusted their angle, let out a low cry to signal everyone to sit tight, and then began to dive down, heading towards the dense mountain range below.

The powerful airflow made it almost impossible to open one's eyes, and Zhu Xiu's arms tightened to protect Bai Wanwan and the cub.

Soon after, Yin Ze landed steadily on a relatively flat clearing in the forest. The huge impact startled the surrounding wild animals, causing them to scatter and flee, clearing the area in an instant.

Shuanghua was almost thrown off balance, but luckily Yanlie reacted quickly and pulled her back. Bai Wanwan was also startled and quickly stepped forward to support her, "Aunt Shuang, are you alright?"

"It's nothing, I was just still half asleep."

Shuanghua was now fully awake and turned to look around. "Is this time for rest?"

"Yes, Aunt Shuang, take a rest for a while, I have something to do."

She didn't have time to say much to Aunt Shuang before turning around and looking around.

After looking for a while without seeing any trace of the bird, Peanut anxiously asked in his heart, "Peanut, where is the bird? I haven't seen it."

"Host, please remain calm. The tracking bird is approaching," the system calmly replied.

Her unusual anxiety and actions immediately alerted all the beastmen.

"Wanwan, what's wrong?" Zhu Xiu and Xin Feng spoke almost simultaneously, their sharp eyes scanning the surroundings for any potential dangers.

Yan Lie also slung the basket containing the cub over his shoulder and quickly approached her, his eyes filled with concern and vigilance: "What happened? Are you feeling unwell?"

Bai Wanwan took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "It's the tracking bird...it's back. Maybe...maybe there's news of Hua Han. He might be nearby."

The name "Hua Han" caused a subtle change in the expressions of the males.

Zhu Xiu's eyes, glowing with a red light, narrowed slightly.

A complex expression flickered across Xin Feng's gentle face. "He knew you were in the Merfolk King's Palace, yet he came here alone?"

"I don't know what happened either. I'll ask him properly when I see him."

As they were speaking, a strangely shaped bird, its body shimmering with a faint silver light, flew out from the depths of the dense forest like lightning. Its speed was astonishing, and its trajectory was difficult to track.

It nimbly darted around the branches and leaves, flying straight toward Bai Wanwan, and finally landed lightly on her outstretched palm.

Just as the tracking bird landed, a series of clear images flooded into Bai Wanwan's mind like a tide.

In the scene, Hua Han leans against a moss-covered rock in a disheveled state. His once fiery red fur has become dull and lifeless, covered with deep wounds that reveal the bone, and blood has stuck the surrounding fur together.

He was breathing heavily, his chest heaving. Although his eyes still held the cunning characteristic of the fox clan, they could not hide his deep exhaustion and weakness, as if he had just experienced a life-or-death escape.

Bai Wanwan's heart clenched suddenly, as if gripped tightly by an invisible hand, the pain almost suffocating her.

"He's injured!" she exclaimed, looking up sharply at her beastmen, her eyes filled with worry. "Quick! Let's go find him! The tracking birds will lead the way."

The moment she moved, Zhu Xiu firmly grasped her wrist.

Zhu Xiu's expression was unusually serious, and he spoke in a steady voice: "Wanwan, we are about to reach the Tiger Clan. The safest way is for us to return to the tribe first, send the cubs back safely, and settle them in. After that, I will accompany you, or we can all come out together to look for Hua Han."
