Chapter 504 Withdrawal
The figure who could stir all his emotions was no longer by his side, and the power that bound Jin Ying seemed to have loosened.

When Jin Ying closed his eyes and opened them again, his brooding and unpredictable aura had subtly changed. Although he still had the same face, his eyes looked different.

He frowned as he looked in the direction where Bai Wanwan's group had disappeared. A strange and subtle throbbing pain came from his heart, and a feeling of emptiness lingered.

He subconsciously raised his hand to his chest, a look of confusion and intense reluctance appearing on his handsome face.

Each time he lost control of his body, he would experience emotions he had never felt before.

This feeling left him bewildered, unfamiliar, and unsettling.

He frowned, seemingly extremely uncomfortable with the feeling of being entangled by invisible threads.

To sever this nascent worry that was already causing him distress, he shook his head violently, as if trying to shake off those inappropriate emotions from his mind.

Then, without hesitation, he chose the opposite direction from Bai Wanwan's group, quickened his pace, and left almost hastily, without looking back, leaving himself no room for hesitation or regret.

The wind in the wilderness swept across his lonely figure, quickly erasing even the last remaining trace.

Bai Wanwan didn't turn around. Jin Ying's gestures of goodwill were so obvious that she couldn't reciprocate.

As darkness fell, the shadow of embers had long since vanished, and the strange feeling in my heart gradually dissipated with the night breeze.

She looked at her companions, whose expressions had clearly relaxed, and said, "It's getting late, so let's find a place nearby to rest for the night and continue our journey tomorrow morning."

“Okay.” Zhu Xiu responded first, his eyes quickly scanning the surroundings and soon locking onto a sheltered mountain wall.

Yin Ze also noticed what appeared to be a cave over there. "There's a cave over there. I'll go check it out."

A moment later, Yin Ze returned. "There's a naturally formed cave there. The entrance isn't big, and the cave is safe and dry. We can spend the night there."

After saying this, the males led the females and cubs toward the sheltered mountain wall.

Several males immediately got to work, demonstrating their efficient survival skills in the wild.

Yan Lie and Jin Yi quickly cleared away the rubble and dead branches inside the cave; Xin Feng and Hua Han took out thick and soft animal hides from their luggage and carefully laid them out at the deepest part of the cave to create a warm and comfortable temporary nest; Yin Ze set up some small guard traps around the perimeter.

Soon, the once cold cave was transformed and filled with a warm atmosphere.

Bai Wanwan and Shuanghua moved in with a few little ones who were tired from playing and starting to yawn.

The animal hide cushion is soft and warm, carrying the scent of sunshine and grass, making people feel at ease.

The males then divided the work themselves: Zhu Xiu and Yan Lie were responsible for the first half of the night, Jin Yi and Hua Han were responsible for the second half, and Xin Feng and Yin Ze took the time to rest, in preparation for any eventuality or to take over during the daytime journey.

They tacitly chose the best guard positions inside and outside the cave entrance, their figures blending into the night.

That night, perhaps because she was about to return to her true home and see her beloved cubs and chieftains, Bai Wanwan lay on the soft animal skin, but was so excited that she tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

Shuanghua, who was beside him, had long since fallen asleep from days of travel, her breathing even. Xinfeng, who was lying not far away and pretending to sleep, keenly sensed her movement, quietly got up, and walked silently to her side. He gently stroked her cheek with his large hand and asked softly, "Not asleep?"

His voice sounded deep and pleasant in the silent cave.

Bai Wanwan gently rubbed against his warm, dry palm. "Hmm, can't sleep. Missing the kids at home... It's been months since I've seen them, they must have grown so much. I wonder if they've been naughty, if they've gotten hurt, if they've..."

Her voice carried a deep longing and a hint of barely perceptible worry.

A mother worries when her child travels far; no matter how strong she is, her concern for her child always lingers in her heart.

Xin Feng's heart softened instantly. He gently stroked her hair with his fingertips and comforted her softly, "Don't worry, the cubs are safe in the Tiger Clan. With Chief Rong in charge and so many powerful Tiger Clan warriors protecting them, there won't be any mishaps. They must be looking forward to your return every day."

Mentioning the chieftain... with his cold and stern face and decisive actions, yet showing rare tenderness only in front of her and Zaizai, Bai Wanwan's heart trembled slightly.

She had to admit that she missed him terribly, missed his strong embrace, and missed his passionate and domineering moments when he broke through the facade of abstinence.

"Xinfeng," she asked softly, with a hint of eager anticipation, "how long will it take us to get back?"

Xin Feng calculated the distance and replied, "It's the warm season now, and the sea is relatively calm. If we travel at full speed without stopping along the way, it will take about ten days."

He paused, then looked at her. "If you're really in a hurry... you can have Yin Ze take you back alone. He's a flying beastman, the fastest."

Bai Wanwan immediately shook her head, "Forget it, I want to go back with everyone. Besides, can Yin Ze take all of us with him?"

She also doesn't want to separate from any of her partners again.

"His natural abilities were quickly depleted during the long flight carrying all of us and our luggage."

Bai Wanwan understood, and suppressed her anxiety.

She shrank further into the animal skin, making room for herself next to me. "Then lie down with me for a while, and we'll discuss it properly tomorrow morning."

Originally, because Shuanghua was present, the males tacitly kept their distance, and no one had the privilege of approaching Bai Wanwan to rest.

Xin Feng looked at her expectant eyes and sighed. Even if he would be misunderstood by everyone tomorrow, he couldn't bear to refuse.

He carefully lay down beside her, stretched out his arm to pull her soft body into his embrace, letting her rest her head on his arm, and gently patted her back rhythmically with his other hand, like soothing a cub: "Okay, sleep now, I'll stay with you."

Perhaps it was the familiar and pleasant scent of fresh herbs emanating from Xin Feng that made her feel incredibly at ease, or perhaps it was the magical hypnotic power of his steady heartbeat and gentle pats that made Bai Wanwan's tense nerves gradually relax, her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and finally she fell into a deep sleep in his arms, a slight smile still lingering on her lips.

The next morning, as dawn broke, everyone woke up.

After a quick breakfast, we began to discuss the specific itinerary.

Zhu Xiu spoke first, roughly drawing a route on the sand with a twig: "If we rely on Yin Ze to fly, crossing this vast sea is the fastest way. Even so, flying at full speed, we will need to rest on at least a few islands along the way to allow Yin Ze to recover his talent. If all goes well, we should be able to reach the other side in seven or eight days."
