Chapter 394 Serpent Beastmen
Bai Wanwan subconsciously turned her head to look at Zhu Xiu, only to see that he had a calm expression and no ripples in his scarlet snake eyes.

“I am a wandering beast, and the other snake-beastmen have nothing to do with me.” He spoke calmly, but his voice trailed off with a chill. “Do with me however you like.”

Let alone a complete stranger, even if it were one of his own kind who had abandoned him, if they dared to harm Wanwan or any of the beastmen she cared about, he would not hesitate to tear them to shreds.

Yin Ze's eyes reddened as he turned and grasped Bai Wanwan's hand: "Wanwan, you go back to the Tiger Clan with the cubs first. I'll come find you after I rescue Sister Ci."

Bai Wanwan shook her head, her gaze resolute: "I'll go with you."

She is not powerless; at crucial moments, the laser gun in the system space might become a trump card to turn the tide.

As they were talking, Kong Lai staggered over, dragging his battered body.

His face was deathly pale, and he swayed with every step, yet he forced himself to keep his back straight.

"Yin Ze... I'll go with you." His voice was weak, but his eyes were like sharpened blades. "Even if it costs me my life... I'll kill that beast with my own hands!"

"How can you go with your injuries like this?" Yin Ze frowned, spread his wings and was about to take off. "Rest assured and recover. I will definitely bring Sister Ci back."

Bai Wanwan grabbed his wrist: "Let's go together, it'll be safer if we can look out for each other."

She looked up, her eyes reflecting the morning light. "Yin Ze, trust me."

After a moment of stalemate, Yin Ze finally sighed and said, "Fine."

"and many more."

Bai Wanwan suddenly turned around, strode towards Kong Lai, and took out a jar of ointment from the animal skin bag. "Treat the wound first. Sister Ci wants to save you, but if you collapse, how heartbroken she will be to see you like this when she comes back?"

She paused, then lowered her voice, "Jin Yi and Xin Feng will stay to take care of the children, so please... look after them for me too."

Kong Lai gripped the medicine jar tightly, his knuckles turning white: "I have to go."

His voice was hoarse, like it had been ground down by rough gravel. “That’s my female…my life. If something happens to her, I don’t want to live alone.”

Bai Wanwan stared at him for a moment, "Are you really going? Even if you don't go, we'll bring Sister Ci back anyway."

"I must go."

Bai Wanwan had no choice but to nod: "Okay, let's go together."

When she returned to Zhu Xiu's side, Yan Lie had already lowered his body and was preparing to leave.

"Jin Yi, Xin Feng, I want you to stay and take care of the baby. It's not safe for us to go out with them. Would you please stay here with the baby and wait for us to come back?"

Knowing that she wouldn't easily change her mind once she made a decision, the two males, even if they wanted to follow and protect her, couldn't afford to waste any more of their time.

"Okay, Xinfeng and I will stay here to take care of the baby and wait for you to come back."

"Well, wait for me."

Before leaving, Bai Wanwan left three of the males that Chief Rong had entrusted to her, just in case.

She nimbly climbed onto the tiger's back, then turned to Jin Yi and the other two and instructed them: "If there is any danger, immediately take the cubs back to the tiger clan."

Xin Feng hesitated for a moment, then finally said in a deep voice, "Yes, be careful."

Time was of the essence, and after Bai Wanwan responded, the group of orcs quickly left the Peacock Tribe.

Bai Wanwan lay on Yan Lie's back, the whistling wind in her ears.

She turned her head and asked Kong Lai, "Where did that snake-beastman last appear?"

“The Black Mountain to the east…” Kong Lai’s voice trembled, filled with anger at his own incompetence.

“I fought him, and we didn’t even last five rounds… It was my incompetence.”

He pounded his chest violently, the stench of blood from the reopened wound mingling with regret.

"Stop! If you reopen the wound, how will you save Sister Yin Mei?"

Yin Ze, standing to the side, remained silent, his gaze fixed intently ahead.

At that moment, he had only one thought in his mind: he had to bring Sister Ci back safely.

Bai Wanwan didn't disturb him, turning to look at Zhu Xiu beside her. "Zhu Xiu, do you know anything about the snake-beastmen? How should we find them?"

"Let's go to the nearest snake tribe first." Zhu Xiu's snake tail slid across the dry branches, making a soft rustling sound. "If we can't find any trace of them, we'll search the mountain."

The group traveled day and night, managing to shorten the three-day journey to two days.

As the morning mist enveloped the valley, a tribe hidden between two mountains, long deprived of sunlight, gradually came into view.

The rugged stone houses are built against the mountain cliffs, never seeing the sun, and even the air is filled with a damp, cold, and fishy smell.

Upon entering that area, a chilling aura swept over her, causing Bai Wanwan to shiver involuntarily. The next moment, however, Zhu Xiu wrapped his tail around her back.

His scales were cold, yet they inexplicably made her feel at ease.

"Don't be afraid, we're here." The giant snake suddenly turned its head, its vertical pupils reflecting her tense profile.

Bai Wanwan poked his back with her fingertip: "Hmm, I was just thinking, I should visit your birthplace sometime..."

"I've almost forgotten what's worth visiting."

"Of course we're going!" Bai Wanwan's face also revealed a ruthless look. "We're not going to let you off the hook like this. None of those who bullied you will get away with it. We'll settle the score with them properly when the time comes."

A low chuckle escaped Zhu Xiu's throat, the tip of his tail gently wrapping around her ankle: "The king cobra's territory lies far in the depths of the swamp. However..."

He paused, his scarlet tongue brushing against her earlobe. "Having your protective words is more satisfying than flattening that place."

"Hiss... hiss"

The sharp hiss of a snake abruptly interrupted the tender moment.

Seven or eight large, spotted snakes darted out of the bushes, but retreated in terror the moment they saw Zhu Xiu.

The instinctive fear of being suppressed by their bloodline made their bodies tremble like leaves.

Zhu Xiuyou walked to the front, his vertical pupils cold: "Summon your clan leader."

As soon as he finished speaking, a golden ringed snake slithered into the dense forest.

"Don't do anything rash, what...do you want something?"

The snake-beastmen waiting outside mustered their courage and asked them.

"Well, something's come up. A snake-beastman abducted one of our females. Was it one of your people?"

"No, you must have made a mistake."

As soon as the snake-beastman finished speaking, a hunchbacked old man appeared from the trees, leaning on a bone cane.

His face was etched with deep wrinkles, and his gaze visibly trembled as he swept over the crowd: "Gentlemen... why have you trespassed upon my snake clan?"

Five days ago, a snake-beastman abducted a female phoenix.

Bai Wanwan jumped off the snake's back, staring intently at the old man who had appeared. "Hand him over, or shall we search him ourselves?"

The old patriarch slammed his bone staff into the ground and shook his head in denial, "Absolutely impossible! Our orcs have always strictly adhered to the clan rules and never go out to ambush females."

"Whether it's true or not, I advise you to investigate immediately. If you can't give us a satisfactory answer, neither you nor your people will live to see the light of day tomorrow."

As Bai Wanwan finished speaking.

"Roar!"

Yan Lie raised his head, his roar shaking down withered leaves.

Zhu Xiu's snake scales gleamed with a cold, metallic light, releasing the powerful pressure characteristic of a mutated beast.

Yin Ze's wings have been fully spread, and he is ready to strike.

The air froze into ice at that moment.
