Chapter 300 Declaration of Sovereignty
Jin Yi had completely concealed his emotions, but when his gaze fell upon her bright face, a barely perceptible ripple still appeared in his eyes.

His voice, however, was as calm as a deep pool: "The chieftain asked me to bring these two baskets of potatoes over. The rest... are all at your disposal."

"All under my control?" Bai Wanwan's lips twitched.

She planted these potatoes to help the Golden Lion tribe survive the snow season famine.

I can't possibly finish all of this.

"Ah."

Jin Yi nodded, half of his face hidden in the shadows. "The clan chief said that these were planted when you were pregnant with the cubs, and they should belong to you rightfully. When it comes to distribution, it's entirely up to you."

Bai Wanwan originally had no intention of holding these potatoes.

She didn't need that much, but thinking of the orcs who had made things difficult for her, she nodded without hesitation.

“Alright, since the clan leader has made this arrangement, then I will be in charge of the distribution.”

If two large baskets of potatoes were piled up inside the house, the already cramped stone house would feel even more cramped.

Just as she was frowning and thinking about where to store it, Jin Yi noticed what she was troubled about and said, "This stone house has a cellar, didn't you notice?"

"A cellar?" Bai Wanwan looked around in surprise. "Where is it? I really didn't find it."

"Come with me." Jin Yi turned and walked into the inner room.

Besides Xin Feng and Jin Yi, there were two males helping with the moving inside, but Zhu Xiu and Yan Lie were nowhere to be seen.

Bai Wanwan followed Jin Yi's steps and casually asked Xin Feng, "Where did Zhu Xiu and Yan Lie go? It's so late, why haven't they come back yet?"

“Yan Chi and the others have had a good harvest today,” Xin Feng explained gently. “Zhu Xiu and Yan Lie should go and bring back a few more prey.”

As they spoke, they arrived at Yan Lie's room.

Jin Yi walked to the stone bed, raised his hand, and easily lifted the stone slab on the bed.

Bai Wanwan took a closer look and saw that the stone steps wound down to reveal a cellar!
“The cellar isn’t big, but it’s more than enough to store your family’s food.”

As Jin Yi spoke, he gestured for the two males to carry the potatoes downstairs.

Two males, carrying huge baskets, cautiously made their way down the slope.

"I'll go get some fire." Xin Feng turned and left.

Soon, only she and Jin Yi remained at the cave entrance.

Bai Wanwan curiously peeked out, and Jin Yi noticed her movement and asked in a low voice, "Want to go down and take a look?"

She was indeed curious, and even if Jin Yi hadn't mentioned it, she would have gone down to find out later.

"Hmm, how big is it down there?"

"Want to know? I'll go down with you and take a look."

Jin Yi stepped aside to make way for her, indicating that she should go first.

Bai Wanwan lifted her skirt and carefully stepped onto the stone steps.

Below was pitch black, and the only sound was the conversation of the two males who had gone down first.

"Young clan leader, should we put the whole basket down or empty it?"

"Just pour it out and pile it in the corner," Bai Wanwan answered for Jin Yi first.

She slowly moved down the steps, noticing that Jin Yi had followed her in.

As the two were descending the stone steps, Bai Wanwan suddenly slipped and fell backward.

The expected pain did not come; a strong arm firmly encircled her waist and pulled her back with a slight effort.

Bai Wanwan was caught off guard and bumped into Jin Yi's arms. The impact made her chest ache.

"Are you okay?"

Jin Yi's ear tips turned red, but his voice remained steady.

"fine."

After responding softly, Bai Wanwan realized that the arm around her waist had not loosened its grip.

In the dim light, through the thin animal hide, she could clearly feel his burning body temperature.

Bai Wanwan suddenly looked up at him, a smile playing on her lips, "How long does the young clan leader plan to hold me?"

Jin Yi snapped out of his daze and withdrew his hand as if he had been electrocuted.

The soft warmth in his arms suddenly left, and he clenched his fist.

Before they could speak, a beam of fire illuminated the cellar from above, also illuminating the subtle expressions on their faces. Xin Feng approached, holding a torch. In the light, Jin Yi turned his face away, while Bai Wanwan watched him with great interest.

She knew that Jin Yi and she had been intimate when she was poisoned by the thorn flower last time.

But she thought Jin Yi had no feelings for her and planned to pretend she didn't know and let it go.

But just now... he seemed reluctant to let go?
Having been with three beastly husbands, how could she not see through his intentions?
This is somewhat different from her previous assumptions and understanding.

Xin Feng walked down from above, holding a torch, and keenly sensed that the atmosphere between the two was somewhat strange.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

Bai Wanwan looked away and smiled at Xin Feng, "It's nothing."

After she finished speaking, she turned around and looked at the space, which was about six or seven square meters.

The potatoes had been dumped in the corner and were now scattered everywhere.

Jin Yi's gaze followed her, finally settling on her slender back.

He kept reminding himself that Bai Wanwan already had three beast husbands and would leave the tribe in the future, so there was absolutely no possibility between them.

But my gaze always involuntarily follows her figure.

Let's do it this way, let's indulge ourselves this once.

Anyway... they'll all leave eventually.

The narrow cellar felt even more cramped with the presence of the five orcs.

Moreover, the cellar was cramped and contained nothing else.

He immediately lost interest. "I've finished watching, let's go upstairs."

Two males carrying empty baskets passed by. Bai Wanwan stepped aside to let them pass, but stood still.

Xin Feng held up the torch, his gaze shifting from her to Jin Yi, as if he understood something.

"Wanwan, let me go up first to provide you with light."

"it is good."

Xin Feng slowly walked uphill, but did not hear any movement behind him.

He left the cellar quietly without looking back or asking any questions.

In the dim light, Bai Wanwan and Jin Yi stood facing each other.

"Young clan leader, aren't you going up?" She smiled, her eyes shining brightly in the dim light.

Jin Yi's eyes flickered. "You go first."

Instead of leaving, Bai Wanwan took two steps forward and approached him: "Young clan leader, don't you have anything to say to me?"

At this moment, an unprecedented impulse surged in Jin Yi's chest: to tell her, to let her know the feelings he had suppressed for so long.

Bai Wanwan took another step closer, almost pressing herself against him.

She tilted her head back, her breath mingling with his: "Silence means you have nothing to say?"

Jin Yi's pupils contracted, and his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

At that very instant, a sound came from the ground.

"What are you doing standing here? Where's Wanwan?" Zhu Xiu's deep voice pierced through the cellar.

“She’s downstairs,” Xin Feng replied calmly.

"Oh?"

Zhu Xiu appeared at the entrance, his vertical pupils flashing in the darkness. "The young clan leader is here too?"

Jin Yi snapped out of his daze and forcibly looked away from Bai Wanwan.

He replied in a deep voice, "Yes, the chieftain asked me to bring some potatoes over."

Bai Wanwan knew this wasn't a good time to ask questions, so she gave him a meaningful look, turned around, and went up the steps.

Grasping the hand that Zhu Xiu offered, he exerted a slight force, and she left the stone steps.

Even after leaving the cellar, Zhu Xiu did not let go of her hand.

He looked directly at Jin Yi, his voice carrying a clear sense of asserting dominance: "I'm sorry to trouble the young clan leader to make this trip in person..."
