Douluo Dalu: Immortal Dragon Clan

Chapter 217 Mo Yan: Ah Cheng, are you really that kind?

"No, Cheng, you're really being kind by sending me two at once?"

Mo Yan transformed into a tiny figure the size of a palm, standing steadily on Tian Mucheng's lap, his eyes twitching warily, his pupils swirling with doubt and disbelief.

She had only hoped that Acheng would send one helper, but she never expected that there would be twice as many people. Her fingertips unconsciously rubbed the hem of her skirt, and Mo Yan's heart was pounding: This kind of pie falling from the sky is probably hiding a trap.

Tian Mucheng rested his chin on one hand, casually twirling the gilded wristband on his wrist, his voice as if wrapped in a thin layer of ice: "Aren't you usually the laziest? Two ready-made laborers have been delivered to your door, so why do you look like you've been tricked?"

Mo Yan gave a cold laugh, looked up to meet the mountain-like figure in front of him, his hair swaying gently as he floated in the air: "If you were really that kind, you wouldn't always single me out as an example at every strategic meeting."

She knew perfectly well that Tianmu Cheng was full of tricks and might have dug a pit for her to fall into.

Seeing Mo Yan with her arms crossed and her eyes wary as if guarding against a natural enemy, Tian Mucheng sighed helplessly. He knew that if he didn't reveal his secret today, this young lady would probably refuse to leave. So he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Alright, what do you want to know?"

"Why did two of your fifth clones suddenly appear? This is too abnormal!" Mo Yan stomped on his semi-transparent, light-colored shoes, stirring up a circle of tiny, bright red starlight.

Tian Mucheng stroked his chin, lost in thought, his Adam's apple bobbing as he pondered: "I originally intended to use two kinds of authority to create clones of twin martial souls, but who could have imagined..."

He suddenly chuckled, a sly glint in his eyes, "The incompatibility of powers led to a berserk state that directly created two independent clones. Isn't that an unexpected bonus?"

"An accident?" Mo Yan rolled her eyes dramatically, the red crystal on her earring shimmering and casting an afterimage. "You dare say that again with your hand on your heart?"

"Fine, don't give up." Tian Mucheng's arms trembled slightly, his mental energy coiling around his fingertips like spider silk, as if he was about to initiate a remote communication. "It just so happens that Jin Tianming of the Sun Moon Empire, and those guys from Star Luo City, have been eagerly waiting for help to come over."

Before he could finish speaking, Mo Yan had already nimbly jumped onto the back of his hand, poking his tiger's mouth with her fingertips: "Who said you didn't want it?"

A sly smile crept into her eyes as she calculated how much energy she could save with two free henchmen. She failed to notice the triumphant curve of Tian Mucheng's lips as he lowered his gaze. When Mo Yan discovered the "special" nature of these two clones, she would be in for a world of hurt.

"Do you have any more questions? If not, get out!"

Hearing this blunt order to leave, Mo Yan's shoulders slumped instantly, her eyes reddened, and she put on a pitiful look: "Acheng, we finally get to see each other again, do you really want me to leave?" Her voice carried a hint of coquettishness, with the last syllable rising slightly.

"Get out!" Tian Mucheng shouted coldly, severing the mental link directly.

"Oh~" Mo Yan drawled, deliberately feigning disappointment. After the mental link was severed, he slowly opened his eyes. Dugu Luo, who was standing next to him, immediately stepped forward, his tone respectful yet tinged with curiosity: "Lord Mo Yan, what does the Holy Lord want with you?"

Mo Yan stretched, her knuckles cracking, and replied casually, "Send me some new girls. Go take a look." With that, she sat up in bed, yawned widely, rubbed her slightly messy hair, and slowly walked towards the door.

Upon seeing this, Dugu Luo quickly put down what she was doing and followed Mo Yan with small, quick steps.

Not far from the door, Mo Yan ran into Ling Luo Chen and Xi Xi.

She squinted, yawned, and waved, "Good morning, you two." Just as she was about to leave with Dugu Luo, Ling Luochen hurriedly stopped her, "Mo Yan, I heard there's been some trouble in Shrek City, do you want to go and take a look?"

Xi Xi quickly stepped forward, looking slightly anxious: "I heard someone is spreading rumors about you, saying that those people are imitating you and causing trouble."

Upon hearing this, Mo Yan's eyes cleared up instantly, and a helpless smile appeared on his lips.

She sighed softly, thinking to herself: No wonder Ah Cheng was so "kind," he probably sent me two troublesome guys.

"Alright, anyway, A Luo and I are going there to pick someone up." Mo Yan's lips curled up slightly, a hint of interest flashing in his eyes. "We can go and watch the show, see just how capable these two new colleagues are!"

Ling Luochen and Xixi exchanged a glance, then one grabbed Dugu Luo's wrist and the other grabbed Mo Yan's arm, and without another word, they ran towards Shrek City, their skirts billowing in the air with urgency.
On the cobblestone streets of Shrek City, the air seemed to solidify into viscous amber.

The shouts soliciting business at the shop entrance came to an abrupt halt. The eyes of the young men and women passing by, the shop owners, and even the customers raising their glasses were all drawn as if by a magnet to the two people facing off in the center: Bai Yu, a girl with white hair like frost, and Lei Ze, a man with a gloomy expression.

An invisible pressure, like a heavy lead weight, pressed down on everyone's shoulders, freezing them in place, unable to move even their fingertips.

"Why am I here?" Bai Yu's voice was as cold as shattered ice. Her slender jade fingers unconsciously caressed her chin, and her obsidian-like pupils shone with a probing light.

Before she could finish speaking, she suddenly leaned close to Lei Ze, the scent of cedarwood wafting from her hair carrying a questioning tone: "The one who should be asking this is me! Isn't the protection of the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile School enough? Why did you have to come out and die? Do you really think that just because you have a backer, your family or faction will let you off the hook?"

"They've had enough of your cowardly nature!" Bai Yu curled his lips, his sarcasm as sharp as a viper's hiss. "It's laughable that the Thunder Element family faction has raised such a spineless coward as you."

Razer's Adam's apple bobbed, his pale lips moved but he couldn't utter a single word of rebuttal. His fist, hanging by his side, trembled slightly, his knuckles turning bluish-white, but he finally let go helplessly.

"Shut up!" Two angry shouts rang out at the same time. Ning Tian and Wu Feng took half a step forward almost simultaneously, but were firmly pinned to the spot by an invisible shackle.

Wu Feng's red hair danced wildly in the wind like burning flames. The veins on her neck bulged, and her voice was like tearing silk: "He suffered a serious illness when he was young, which damaged his foundation. How dare you not mention it at all?!" This usually fiery girl now had her almond eyes wide open, her gaze like a blade piercing Bai Yu.

Bai Yu raised an eyebrow slightly, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes. She looked Wu Feng up and down. In A Cheng's memory, this red-haired girl shouldn't be so impulsive and protective of her own. But the smile on her lips grew deeper, like a strange ripple on a deep pool: "You think that's all?"

She deliberately dragged out the last syllable, slowly pacing around Lei Ze, each step feeling like it was treading on everyone's hearts, "He didn't tell you, did he? Back then, he almost killed the Holy Lord with his own hands!"

These words were like a bombshell, exploding in the crowd.

Ning Tian and Wu Feng instantly lost all color in their faces and stood there dumbfounded, while the onlookers looked at each other in confusion, and whispers of discussion surged up like a tide.

Razer's face instantly turned paler than snow. He staggered back half a step, knocking over a roadside stall. The sound of the wooden frame collapsing was particularly jarring in the deathly silent street.
