Chapter 513 Not cut out for it?
This doesn't mean Liu Xiaoli doesn't want her daughter to mature; in fact, she wants Liu Qianqian to grow up more than anyone else so that she can help share some of the burden.

However, I always feel that my daughter has grown up, but the direction of her growth seems a bit strange.

Liu Xiaoli couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong, but her intuition told her that her daughter was starting to look further and further away from how she remembered her...

Then she saw Liu Qianqian impatiently throw the documents aside, take out a PSP from her bag, turn it on silent, and start playing.

Well, not all places are getting farther and farther away.

Liu Xiaoli patted her head and quickly finished browsing the remaining information.

“I roughly understand that we can ignore the problems at Oriental Films for now. Although no one knows that we are the ones making things difficult for EEG, we can’t make too many enemies at once,” she said.

“Moreover, Oriental Films doesn’t have as diverse a business as EEG, so targeting them wouldn’t be too difficult,” Liu Qianqian immediately added.

“Not bad.” Liu Xiaoli nodded approvingly. “Once we acquire Golden Harvest and become the largest capital in Hong Kong’s entertainment industry, it will be much easier to suppress or buy it off.”

"Oh..." Liu Qianqian drawled out.

Liu Xiaoli frowned: "Oh, what do you mean?"

“Oh, right,” Liu Qianqian shrugged. “Since Mom has already made plans, I can do my own thing.”

"I was just praising you for being mature and sensible, how come you've fallen apart again in the blink of an eye?" Liu Xiaoli was furious.

"You just praised me? I didn't hear that?" Liu Qianqian blinked, looking puzzled.

"I'm praising you in my heart," Liu Xiaoli said, coughing lightly after realizing what she had said.

"Oh dear, so I can read minds now," Liu Qianqian said sarcastically.

"Xixi!" Liu Xiaoli gritted her teeth, then took a deep breath and changed the subject, asking, "How is Wang Junxin doing?"

"Hmm...it was alright," Liu Qianqian shrugged as she recalled.

"How about making her your personal assistant?" Liu Xiaoli asked again.

"No," Liu Qianqian refused.

"Didn't you think it was okay?" Liu Xiaoli asked, somewhat surprised.

"Just because you think it's okay doesn't mean you have to be my personal assistant?" Liu Qianqian scoffed. "You might as well give Caiyu to me."

“Caiyu is going to be sent to his side…” Liu Xiaoli sighed, “Alright, Qianqian, she’s the first runner-up in next year’s Miss Hong Kong pageant.”

"So what?" Liu Qianqian shrugged. "Miss Hong Kong doesn't have the same status as before. Besides, Zhao Liying, who used to be Mimi's rival, is now very loyal to her."

“I already said that Caiyu needs to be sent to his side,” Liu Xiaoli continued to sigh.

“I didn’t say Caiyu,” Liu Qianqian spread her hands. “My meaning is very clear: my personal assistant, go find her yourself.”

Liu Xiaoli frowned, stared at her daughter for a long time until she looked away, and then said, "Alright, you decide."

"Thank you, Mom." Liu Qianqian visibly relaxed and even pretended to bow while waving her flowers, which made Liu Xiaoli's eyes twitch.

"Don't rush, there's still a mission to complete," she immediately added.

"Another mission?" Liu Qianqian complained without even hearing the rest.

Sure enough, they've grown, but they haven't really grown.

"Sisi, you'll have to take charge of running the family business sooner or later," Liu Xiaoli said with a sigh.

“Just leave it to Yangyang,” Liu Qianqian said nonchalantly. “I’m not cut out for it.” “What do you mean you’re not cut out for it?” Liu Xiaoli said angrily. “I’m not cut out for it either, so how come I still managed to go my own way?”

"That's all because of him..." Liu Qianqian suddenly stopped talking, and her expression became a little strange.

Liu Xiaoli's face flushed slightly: "Before meeting him, didn't my mother single-handedly... pull us out of the mire?"

"Oh, right, right, right." Liu Qianqian rolled her eyes dismissively; it wasn't like she hadn't simulated certain futures before.

"Liu Qianqian!" Liu Xiaoli was angry.

“I mean, he’s Yangyang’s father. He would never abandon his daughter. With him protecting her, even if Yangyang’s abilities are average and she doesn’t have a system, she can still operate steadily as long as she doesn’t mess around.” Liu Qianqian shrugged. “I’m different. I don’t have a father.”

"Xixi!" Liu Xiaoli was even angrier.

"Alright, alright," Liu Qianqian turned and walked out. "I know what Mom wants me to do: simulate more movies produced by the future Oriental Film Company, and then use them as favors to win them over. I will try."

Liu Xiaoli ultimately did not follow, but waited until her daughter went out before sitting down in a high-backed chair and letting out a deep sigh.

Compared to her initial simulated future self, she has broadened her horizons and accomplished a great deal, so she naturally understands what the absence of a father figure means in a child's growth.

"Could this be... why..." Liu Xiaoli suddenly thought of the several futures she had recently simulated. Although the information was fragmented because the time was set relatively far in the future, she still noticed some clues.

Some embarrassing things that should have disappeared have resurfaced, leaving her feeling ashamed and utterly perplexed.

"What a tragedy..." Liu Xiaoli sighed as she leaned back in her chair and stared at the ceiling.

However, compared to how she trembled when she first simulated such a thing, she is much calmer now, perhaps because she has seen more of the world.

"Forget it, let's think about what to do next and how to meet with Li Yunxin." Liu Xiaoli cheered up again.

Once outside, Liu Qianqian hurriedly carried the child back to her bedroom and then went into the bathroom, where she turned on the tap and splashed water on her flushed face several times.

"What are you thinking about? How did you end up talking about...that?" Her tone was full of reproach, but her eyebrows showed a rather charming look.

After wiping her face clean and taking a few deep breaths, she went to her desk, took out her phone, and made a call.

"Honey, it's me. What are you doing in the capital?"

"Remember to follow up on the assistant's matter for me. Angela said she's already trained him."

“It’s different. I’m a Hong Kong resident now, so of course it would be best to find someone with Hong Kong residency.”

"It's all because of you. Why did you have to choose Zhao Liying as your assistant? I want to be a TV Queen and an Oscar winner too!"

"Um... what has he been up to lately? He should be back in the capital by now, right?"

"What? You stole food! What? They stole food too!"

"You jerk! Do you even consider me your best friend?!"

"Ignore you!"

She slammed the flip phone shut, still trembling, gritting her teeth in anger.

Just because I wasn't there... just because I wasn't there! Tang Yan and Liu Shishi are one thing, since they're just objects in their hands, but Yang Mi!
"Calm down! Calm down... calm down my ass!" Liu Qianqian paced back and forth in the bedroom, her fists clenched tightly.

She tried hard to control her emotions, but the thought of Yang Mi doing something like that made her unable to hold back.

Putting aside the mutually beneficial cooperation over the past few years, we were at least friends who played games together and teamed up together. Yet she ran off to steal food before I even got back. Does she even care about me anymore?
This is no longer something that uncles and aunts can tolerate; it's something that nephews and nieces, grandparents, uncles and aunts cannot tolerate!
