World War I

Chapter 169 Very Awesome

Chapter 169 Very Awesome

"But there is no evidence to prove why the car suddenly broke down at that time."

"He escaped from the trap that Luo Ye and Andrei set up, which fully demonstrates how powerful that person is."

Sonia laughed and said, "If we're talking about skill, your nephew is the most impressive. How did he find that guy's cabin, and even predict it? Don't you think that's absurd?"

"It's absurd, but this incident has put my mind at ease. He has nothing to do with Product Number One."

The police car drove into the police station, and all they saw was Luo Ye pacing anxiously back and forth in the police station's courtyard, looking like a helpless trapped beast.

Two days later.

"Colonel, think about it. Why isn't he calling? Why isn't he calling back? Is Mark playing a trick on us?"

"Wait a little longer, wait a little longer. I think it's a good thing. Chris probably hasn't been sent for experiments."

"How do you talk?"

"Sorry, I take back what I said. Let's change the subject. I find it a little strange that those two stupid women didn't come looking for trouble with us."

"You mean Billie and Sal?"

"Of course, those two stupid women, and that big brother's men haven't come looking for trouble either. Maybe they've been suppressed by Andrei."

"Who knows? There's no progress on One-Eye's side either. He's looking for a job. He got fired from the lumber mill because of those two women. Are they plotting something big or doing something underhanded? When they left the police station, they were even more aggressive than the big boss."

Luo Ye: "I don't have time to figure out what they're doing. When women are being mean, they often whisper sweet nothings in men's ears. I wonder what those two women are saying about us again."

"This is probably really troublesome. I looked up Yaroslav III, and he's incredibly powerful."

"My concern is for Chris, our colleague."

"us?"

"Yes, as long as I'm the police chief of Kursk town, you won't get away. I'll take you down with me even if I die."

"Captain, you've gone mad. Take Sal for example, she seems very cunning. She won't let this go so easily. Her husband was even injured by a sheep."

"Okay, so what do you think she's doing right now?"

------

As Turgenev and Roye were talking, they were by a secluded lake in a thick reed bed south of Kursk.

Sal and Billie are going on a picnic. It was Billie's idea to relax and unwind so they can deal with those lousy cops at the Kursk town police station later.

Six hours ago, Sal secretly sent her husband's bodyguards to cause trouble for Tom Hiddleston, and because of Hiddleston, they were disfigured.

Just as the two women were about to go swimming in the river, several bodyguards cornered Tom Hiddleston in front of an abandoned church in the suburbs.

Tom Hiddleston remained silent.

Thump, thump, thump! Before the four burly bodyguards could even understand what was happening, they were all lying on the ground. They had never encountered such a violent and burly man in their lives. One of the bodyguards had four ribs broken by Tom Hiddleston's punch. This man's fighting ability was many times stronger than that freakish SWAT officer from the police station.

After making a phone call, Tom Hiddleston threw all these people into the van that was originally intended to kidnap him.

After swimming, Billie and Sal took the barbecue grill out of the car and waited quietly for good news from the bodyguards.

The vehicle appeared by the lake, and Billie laughed, "They're here! They'll have to make him pay!"

The car drove straight up to the two of them, nearly hitting Sal. "How do you drive? Are you blind?"

The car door opened, and Billie's eyes nearly popped out of her head. "Oh my god, Sal, look!"

With his face bruised and swollen, four bodyguards were tied up like dogs and thrown out of the car. Tom Hiddleston stood with another man who looked rather sleazy.

Tom Hiddleston threw out a shovel and a hoe. "You two, dig the hole. Do it well. This kind of physical work suits you."

"You, you, what do you want to do?"

"Mark, get started!" Mark rushed forward and quickly ripped off Sal's shirt. "Aren't you going to dig properly?"

The two women were terrified and quickly started digging. The mud by the lake was even softer. Although the two women were delicate, they still dug a big pit. Tom Hiddleston threw it in without any hesitation.

"Bury them, or you can bury them all."

The two sobbing women finally realized what was about to happen and clung to Tom Hiddleston's legs, begging for mercy.

"If you don't make a move now, you'll all be the ones who die."

The bodyguards were gagged and could only watch helplessly as they were buried alive, bit by bit.

When the two finished their work and were too exhausted to stand, Mark grabbed Sal by the hair and forced her face down onto the ground—

Tom Hiddleston watched Mark's madness with great interest. Before long, he pulled the terrified Billie into the van, where Billie's screams and pleas for mercy rose and fell in waves.

An hour later, the van left, and all traces by the lake were cleaned up. The two women's car was sunk to the bottom of the lake.

As dusk fell, Billie and Sal were taken to the fortress, and amidst their desperate screams, their bodies were placed into metal crates—

At 8 p.m., Yaroslav III's car was traveling on Highway 7 when it was struck by an unlicensed truck. The truck tumbled over a dozen times before falling into a deep ditch. By the time the traffic police received the report, Yaroslav III had already been dead for some time.

This matter alarmed Director Knuckles.

"Luo Ye, you didn't do this, did you?"

Luo Ye was also a little surprised when he received the call. His wife, Sal, had gone missing, as had her best friend, Billie.

"Chief, how could I have done it?"

"Hmm, that's unlikely. Tell me something. How did you find that substation that night? Magic, or sorcery?"

"Chief, we're discussing a case."

"Alright, the case occurred within the territory of Kursk town, it's likely a murder. Use your amazing tracking and prediction skills to find out who murdered Yaroslav III. Go to the scene now."

"Director, I can go, but I want to make it clear first that my functions are disabled tonight, so my presence won't be of any use."

"Whether it works or not, you have to be there, understand, you idiot."

Luo Ye seemed to understand, yet also seemed not to understand.

He drove to the scene, but he was just a bystander, not even that. The county police chief and deputy chief were all there, and even the county magistrate was present.

Moreover, no clues about the suspect vehicle were left at the scene, so what's the point of investigating?
It was already late at night when I got back to the town police station.

"Chris—"

Luo Ye slapped his forehead. It hadn't been long, and he had already become dependent on Chris. If she were here, no matter how late Luo Ye returned, Chris would serve him with a sweet and sly smile, making coffee, brewing tea, massaging his shoulders, and so on. Of course, she would also take the opportunity to extort money from him.

The police station is flush with cash; they haven't touched their $1.5 million. If Chris were here, Luo Ye would be generous with his treatment and spending. But now, the three people in the police station who love money the most are not around.

Good things should be shared, including feelings of satisfaction, a sense of belonging, and joy.

Having more money is certainly a good thing, but it's also a loss if there's no one to share it with, as it can make people lose their sense of accomplishment and honor.

Especially in front of Chris.

Turgenev appeared at an inopportune moment, carrying a bottle of liquor. "Drinking can numb your soul. Come on, drink! You always mock my special police force, now look at your police station. Come on, drink! I won't drink until I'm drunk!"

When Luo Ye woke up, it was seven in the morning. He had been sleeping in his office chair, but Turgenev was nowhere to be seen. He wondered which manufacturer had produced those bottles of vodka last night; they were incredibly potent and had a strong aftereffect.

Luo Ye looked around and found Turgenev sleeping in the helicopter. When he called him, the guy was still dreaming.

Composing himself, Luo Ye checked his phone for any missed calls.

"If Mark doesn't call soon, I'll go crazy. All he wants is money, damn it, doesn't he have the guts to ask for it?"
