Chapter 608 Heading to New York
It was 9 a.m. local time. Fang Qingye spent almost an hour completing all the immigration procedures. Dragging her suitcase, she arrived at the waiting hall and soon spotted a man in his thirties with yellow skin and black eyes holding a sign with the three Chinese characters "Fang Qingye" written on it.

He walked over.

"You must be Mr. Fang Qingye?" the young man greeted him warmly. "I am Jiang Feng, the director of the New York office of Bangcheng Trading Group. Mr. Qiao arranged for me to pick you up personally."

"Thank you."

Fang Qingye was going to New York alone and also had to deal with the traffic accident case involving Xia He, so she definitely needed help. Fang Qingye called Qiao Yongfeng and told him her idea.

Qiao Yongfeng readily agreed, saying he had spoken to the people at the company's New York office and they would provide all necessary assistance.

The two got into a Mercedes-Benz, and Jiang Feng asked, "Mr. Fang, has Mr. Qiao arranged for us to book a hotel for you? Do you need one now?"

"Not needed for now, take me to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in Queens."

“Okay, James, go straight to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in Queens,” Jiang Feng said to the black driver.

But I was a little curious.

Why did he go to the hospital?

Qiao Yongfeng only told Jiang Feng on the phone that the office would provide Fang Qingye with comprehensive assistance after he arrived in New York, but he did not tell him the purpose of Fang Qingye's trip to New York.

Visiting a patient?

Jiang Feng immediately thought of an answer.

The fact that he traveled all the way from Shanghai to New York shows how important this patient was to him.

Male or female?

Jiang Feng thought to himself, but he knew he couldn't ask questions recklessly.

After a two-hour drive, they arrived at Queen Sinai Hospital. Fang Qingye got out of the car, and Jiang Feng quickly put down her suitcase.

"Mr. Fang, just give me a call if you need anything, and I'll be there whenever you call," Jiang Feng said.

"Thank you."

Fang Qingye hurriedly entered the hospital with her suitcase. Following Tian Qian's instructions, she went to the 16th floor of the inpatient department and found Xia He's ward.

It was a private room. Looking through the glass in the door, you could see Xia He wearing a hospital gown, half-lying on the bed with her eyes slightly closed and her face pale.

Fang Qingye gently pushed the door open and went in. Hearing the noise at the door, Xia He opened her eyes and saw that it was Fang Qingye. She quickly tried to sit up but suddenly felt a pain in her ribs and her face showed a look of pain.

"No, don't move." Fang Qingye quickly put down her suitcase and sat on the edge of the bed.

"You, how did you get here?" Xia He's voice was weak.

“Tian Qian told me,” Fang Qingye replied.

“I told Tian Qian not to tell you after we got back to China, but she… sigh.”

“Telling me is the right thing to do. How much longer are you going to keep this from me? Are you going to make me live with this insecurity for the rest of my life?!” Fang Qingye said.

"Sigh," Xia He sighed softly, then suddenly remembered something and asked hesitantly, "Does Bai Ou know?"

"I know. She also asked me to pass on a message to you, hoping you are doing well," Fang Qingye replied with a smile.

He didn't say the second half of his sentence; now is not the time to say it.

"Oh, I'm so sorry to her," Xia He said softly again.

"No, it's me who's sorry to both of you." Fang Qingye gently held Xia He's hand; it was icy cold.

"How is your health now?"

"It's nothing, the doctor said I just need to lie down for a while longer." As she spoke, Xia He generously pulled back the blanket, and Fang Qingye saw that her lower left leg was wrapped in bandages.

"Sigh," Fang Qingye looked at Xia He, who had lost even more weight, with affection.

"Why are you sighing? Once I'm healed, I want to play badminton with you again," Xia He comforted Fang Qingye.

"Yes, yes, I'll definitely help you fight it out," Fang Qingye quickly replied. Just then, a middle-aged woman who looked like a caregiver from Southeast Asia walked in and looked curiously at Fang Qingye sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Her name is Geronimo, she's a caregiver, of Filipino descent, and she's the one who takes care of me," Xia He introduced softly, then introduced Fang Qingye to Geronimo.

The woman smiled kindly at Asakasa Aoba.

"Where's Qingqing?" Fang Qingye thought of her daughter again.

“She’s being taken care of by a nanny at home. Do you want to see her? Why don’t you go home? I’ll call the nanny,” Xia He said with a smile.

"Don't worry, let me go find the attending physician to ask about your condition first." Fang Qingye remembered this.

Xia He immediately said to Geronimo in English, "Geronimo, take Mr. Fang to see Dr. Jack."

"Mr. Fang, please come with me."

Geronimo took Fang Qingye to the doctor's office, where they met Xia He's attending physician, Jack, a white man in his forties with a full beard.

Fang Qingye introduced herself as Xia He's friend, who had come from China specifically to visit Xia He.

"Mr. Jack, how badly is Ms. Xia injured?"

"Although the injury was severe at the time, the surgery was successful and the recovery is going well. Now, what I need is rest and rehabilitation training. The steel nails in my lower leg will be removed depending on the recovery progress."

"thanks, thanks."

Dr. Jack then explained to Fang Qingye the precautions for caring for patients, including regular changes of dressings, timely administration of antibiotics, rehabilitation training, and psychological support after discharge.

"These details will be recorded in the doctor's order form when you are discharged from the hospital," Jack concluded.

"Thanks."

Fang Qingye returned to the ward and told Xia He everything.

Xia He sighed softly after hearing this.

"Don't worry," Fang Qingye said softly, holding Xia He's hand again. "I'll always be with you."

"Um."

Fang Qingye chatted with Xia He for a while longer before deciding to visit her daughter.

"I've already called Sister Hu Quanjing and told you about the situation. She and her daughter are at home. You can go there now," Xia He said gently.

“Okay, I’ll go see my daughter and come back to visit you this afternoon,” Fang Qingye said.

"No need, you can stay home with your daughter."

"Both you and your daughter need to stay with them."

After saying goodbye to Xia He, Fang Qingye left the hospital and randomly found a KFC nearby to fill her stomach. Then, following the address Xia He had given her, she took a taxi straight to her apartment.

After taking the elevator to the 16th floor, Fang Qingye excitedly rang the doorbell.

Hearing footsteps inside, I looked through the peephole and saw someone observing. They even asked a question in Mandarin with a Cantonese accent.

"Who are you?"

"Fang Qingye."

The door opened, revealing a thin, middle-aged woman around fifty years old.

"Mr. Fang, please come in. Miss Luo has already told me."

"Hello, Sister Hu, where's Qingqing?" Fang Qingye asked anxiously, putting down her suitcase.

“They’re playing in the nursery,” Hu Quanjing said, pointing to a room inside.

Fang Qingye hurried over. The door was open, and she saw a very pretty little girl sitting on the floor, playing house with a doll. She seemed to hear footsteps and turned her head to look at Fang Qingye curiously.
