Chapter 216 Uchiha Sasuke (Two Chapters Combined)

Orochimaru's vessel selection ceremony is a twisted and cruel survival game, just like the method of raising Gu poison.

In this ritual, only the one who survives to the end is qualified to become Orochimaru's vessel.

In the dark dungeon, dozens of brainwashed slaves huddled like ants in an iron cage, their empty eyes flashing with a morbid fanaticism, as if what was about to happen was not death, but supreme glory.

"Let's begin." With Orochimaru's hoarse voice, the iron cage opened with a bang.

In an instant, the prisoners, like wild beasts awakened, pounced on each other in a frenzy.

One of them suddenly opened his mouth, revealing yellowed teeth, and bit down hard on the other's throat, causing blood to gush out like a fountain.

Some people even broke the iron bars with all their might, using them as weapons. The sharp edges gleamed coldly in the dim light, and they viciously stabbed into the bodies of others.

Blood quickly soaked the stone floor, and the pungent smell of blood filled the air. Screams, roars, and frantic howls mingled together, creating a chilling symphony of death.

Kabuto pushed up his glasses, a drop of blood splattering on the lens. He watched the bloody selection process, a smile unconsciously creeping onto his lips.

As Orochimaru's most capable assistant, he understood these people's psychology all too well. By instilling extreme pain and fear, and then giving them false hope, he could cultivate absolute loyalty.

"Lord Orochimaru, was Kimimaro selected in the same way back then?" Kabuto asked softly.

"No." A strange light flashed in Orochimaru's golden snake eyes. "He was special. That child...born to yearn to become my vessel, but unfortunately..."

Kabuto knew what Orochimaru regretted.

Kimimaro's bloodline limit is very powerful, and theoretically he is the most suitable vessel for reincarnation. Unfortunately, he suffers from a serious illness that cannot be cured, and he can only rely on drugs to temporarily prolong his life.

Such a frail physical condition clearly does not meet the standards for Orochimaru's vessel.

As time went by, the sounds of fighting gradually subsided.

In the center of the arena, the last survivor stood swaying, his body covered in wounds, yet he still raised his hands high, hoarsely calling out Orochimaru's name.

"Very good." Orochimaru licked his lips with his long tongue. "Prepare for the reincarnation ceremony."

Having acquired a new body, Orochimaru sent people to fetch Sasuke Uchiha while simultaneously working on creating a container to house the tailed beasts.

When Kabuto Yakushi, Orochimaru's right-hand man, learned of their plan to extract the tailed beasts from the Jinchuriki, he was initially shocked, but this was quickly replaced by excitement.

The thought of participating in such amazing research made his fingers tremble slightly with excitement, and his eyes behind his glasses shone with fervent light.

Qin Ye couldn't help with the research, so he left the base, jumped onto a tree branch, and sat down cross-legged.

[Introduction: Even though the enemies are numerous, they can all be killed with one strike!]

"395," Qin Ye murmured softly, his slender fingers gently stroking his chin.

Compared to the amount of Life Essence obtained in the Ling Cage world, this number is pitifully small.

But there's nothing he can do; he can't farm points in the Naruto world, so he can't kill all the ninjas in that world.

Qin Ye stared at the number, pondering whether to invest the life essence into his body now, or save it all and invest it all at once after the runes were fused.

The former will boost combat power in a short period of time, while the latter will yield greater benefits.

Just as Qin Ye was pondering, a slight sound came from the mountain wall of the base. Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a white figure slowly walking out of the door.

Kimimaro's pale skin gleamed coldly in the sunlight. His gaze lingered briefly on Qin Ye's location, but he paid no further attention. With a flash, he disappeared into the depths of the dense forest, leaving only a few fallen leaves swirling in the air, whipped up by the strong wind.

Qin Ye knew what Kimimaro was going to do, but he wasn't interested in it.

He closed the panel and ultimately decided to preserve the essence of life first.

With his current combat power, he is already capable of handling various situations. Unlocking a new avatar will not bring a significant increase in combat power. Moreover, if he unlocks a weak avatar, it would be a huge loss. It is safest to invest in the World Rune.

The night was as dark as ink, deep and tranquil.

The bright moonlight shone through the gaps in the leaves.

Qin Ye sat cross-legged on the tree, surrounded by fine red arcs of electricity.

These electric arcs were unlike ordinary lightning, exuding a sharp aura like swords and spears, with wisps of destructive energy emanating from them.

With a long, drawn-out breath, the crimson lightning suddenly subsided.

Qin Ye slowly opened his eyes, a flash of lightning appearing in his dark pupils. He turned sharply toward the depths of the dense forest, where the darkness was even more intense than elsewhere.

rustle
The sound of crunching fallen leaves grew louder as the footsteps approached. In the moonlight, a pair of scarlet eyes shone in the darkness, and as the footsteps drew nearer, the figure gradually became clearer.

With jet-black hair, a cold and aloof profile, and a blue short shirt emblazoned with the Uchiha clan crest, he was none other than Uchiha Sasuke, whom Qin Ye had met once before, and Orochimaru's chosen new vessel.

In his efforts to bring back Sasuke Uchiha, Orochimaru lost many of his elite subordinates, including his most capable Kimimaro.

Uchiha Sasuke, barefoot, stopped in front of the mountain. He warily surveyed his surroundings, his brows slightly furrowed.

"Orochimaru, I'm here! Give me your power!"

"tsk"

A low chuckle suddenly rang out in the darkness. This unexpected sound startled Sasuke, causing his entire body to tense up instantly, like a frightened cheetah.

He turned around abruptly, his Sharingan swirling, and clearly spotted the figure at the source of the sound in the pitch-black darkness.

The moment Sasuke saw who it was, his pupils contracted sharply, and all color drained from his face. He instinctively took several steps back, his heels bracing against the rock wall behind him. Cold sweat trickled down his forehead, gleaming coldly in the moonlight.

"It's you!"

Sasuke's voice was filled with fear and shock. The horrific scene of Kakashi-sensei being killed was still vivid in his mind. Whenever he recalled it, he would feel a chill run through his body, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

In the first few days, he was often awakened by nightmares in which the figure wielding the knife was like a demon from hell, grinning menacingly at him.

And now, this demon from his dreams was actually standing right before his eyes. Facing Qin Ye, Uchiha Sasuke could no longer maintain his usual cold demeanor. Orochimaru and everything else were completely forgotten. All he wanted now was to get away from this place, away from that man.

Just then, a voice sounded behind him.

"Night, don't frighten my new vessel."

Upon hearing that familiar, hoarse voice, Uchiha Sasuke turned around abruptly.

Then he saw a cave that had opened up in the mountain wall behind him, and Orochimaru was standing at the entrance of the cave, which was lit by a dim candlelight, staring at him with a playful expression.

"Orochimaru"

Sasuke Uchiha's throat bobbed, he looked around, and asked, "Are you all in cahoots?"

“Not really.” Orochimaru stepped forward and gently placed his hand on the back to comfort him. “At most, he’s a partner. Don’t be afraid, he won’t do anything to you. Let’s go.”

Orochimaru's Reanimation Jutsu has a cooldown period; each use must be spaced out by three years.

Therefore, Uchiha Sasuke was relatively safe during these three years.

We'll see how much he grows in these three years.

Half a month later, a light rain was falling under the gloomy sky.

Bored out of his mind, Qin Ye leaned lazily against a stone pillar in the training ground, watching Uchiha Sasuke practice snake-style ninjutsu with nonchalant indifference.

Chakra condensed in Sasuke Uchiha's hand, transforming into a winding white snake with menacing fangs, hissing and flicking its tongue.

At this moment, Kabuto Yakushi hurriedly came over and informed Qin Ye that the tailed beast's vehicle was complete.

Upon receiving this news, Qin Ye's previously lazy gaze suddenly sharpened, and his figure vanished from the spot like a ghost.

Kabuto paused for a moment, then pushed up his glasses, his eyes flickering behind the lenses. He turned and walked away quickly, clearly eager to get back to the lab.

He didn't want to miss the scene of the tailed beast being extracted.

He also wanted to know whether his research with Lord Orochimaru these past few days had been of any use.

Sasuke Uchiha stopped his training and stared coldly in the direction where the two had disappeared. He had no interest in Orochimaru's research, but anything that could move that unfathomable guy was definitely not simple.

Thinking of this, he stopped using his ninjutsu and followed.

The experimental area inside the base.

Qin Ye examined the 'vehicle' in front of him, which resembled a ceramic water vat, and frowned slightly.

Although it was covered with densely packed curse marks, this thing didn't look like it could imprison a tailed beast at all.

"Is this the tailed beast vehicle you spent half a month building?" Qin Ye's voice was filled with obvious doubt. He turned to Orochimaru and said, "It looks too small to even fit a sea bream."

Faced with Qin Ye's questioning, Orochimaru gave a sinister laugh: "Ye, the size of the vehicle has never been the key. This is a model I made based on the Amber Purification Bottle. Although it can't compare to the Six Paths Ninja Tools, with my cursed seal, it should be able to seal a tailed beast without any problem."

Qin Ye was still not entirely convinced, but since things had come to this point, he decided to give it a try.

With that thought in mind, he released Killer Bee from the pouch.

When Orochimaru saw the Jinchuriki, a glint of light flashed in his golden vertical pupils. He squatted down and impatiently pressed his fingers on Killer Bee's abdomen, drawing some complex curse marks on Killer Bee's belly before signaling Qin Ye and the other two to retreat.

As Sasuke Uchiha looked at the somewhat familiar patterns, a figure flashed through his mind, and a sense of irritation arose in his heart.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Shh, be quiet." Kabuto pushed up his glasses, the lenses reflecting a cold light: "Lord Orochimaru is conducting a very important experiment, don't disturb him."

Orochimaru took a deep breath and formed hand seals.

His hand seals weren't very fast, but each one was clearly visible.

As he completed the last seal, he abruptly shifted to a sword-finger gesture and hissed:
"Untie the tail seal!"

The next second, the seal on Killer Bee's abdomen was torn open like a wound, and the dark runes spread rapidly all over his body like a spider web.

The raging tailed beast chakra surged forth, creating a chakra storm in the laboratory. Killer Bee, who was unconscious, suddenly opened his eyes wide and let out a heart-wrenching howl.

Orochimaru didn't stop. He yanked open the lid of the water tank, and his hands moved again, this time so fast that they almost left afterimages.

Immediately afterwards, the cursed seal on the surface of the water tank suddenly lit up with a ghostly light, generating a strange suction force that drew in strands of tailed beast chakra emanating from Killer Bee, forming a rotating chakra vortex.

"It's done! As expected of Lord Orochimaru."

Yakushi Kabuto, standing to the side, excitedly pumped his fist, offering a small but significant compliment.

If we were to ask who among Orochimaru's many subordinates was the most rational, it would undoubtedly be Kabuto Yakushi; and if we were to ask who admired Orochimaru the most, it would also be this man.

He was quite intelligent, so he was able to understand how groundbreaking Orochimaru's research was.

"You're extracting the Tailed Beasts?" Sasuke Uchiha finally understood, his brows furrowing as he recalled his battle with Naruto at the Valley of the End half a month ago.

If he had that power, combined with Orochimaru's cursed seal, he could definitely kill that man.

As time passed, Killer Bee's tailed beast chakra gradually weakened, while the cursed seal on the water tank became increasingly deep and bright.

After the last drop of tailed beast chakra was extracted, Killer Bee's body went limp and lay motionless, clearly dead beyond any doubt.

Seeing this, Orochimaru flicked his finger, and the lid of the water tank flew off, fitting perfectly onto the opening of the tank. A spiderweb-like cursed seal spread up, completely sealing the entire vehicle.

"Phew, it's over." Orochimaru stared greedily at the Tailed Beast vehicle, licking his lips with his long tongue. "Next, the next step is to study how to completely annihilate the Tailed Beast. This will definitely be a long experiment, so we need to be patient."

Qin Ye knew that Orochimaru's last words were meant for him.

He didn't say anything, but if Orochimaru dared to make any trouble for him, he wouldn't mind killing this ninja scientist.

However, just when everyone thought it was over, a sudden change occurred.

Suddenly, the water tank that sealed the tailed beast emitted a faint 'crackling' sound, and cracks appeared in some places.

Everyone was shocked, their faces filled with astonishment.

Startled, Orochimaru quickly formed hand seals to try and solidify the curse seal on the vehicle.

But it was no use; the cracks on the vehicle continued to spread.

"Oh no, it's going to explode!"

Orochimaru's face twitched. He had overestimated the Eight-Tails as much as possible, but he still couldn't seal it.

He really didn't know what to do now. If the tailed beast broke free, it wouldn't matter if his place was destroyed, but it would be difficult to catch the tailed beast again. He might even offend the guy with the knife next to him.
