God of Pets

Chapter 393 Residents of Abyss City

Chapter 393 Residents of Abyss City

The residents of Abyss City and Gu Chengfeng and others all summoned various masks. After putting them on, their bodies and appearances underwent tremendous changes.

The soldiers under Gu Chengfeng's command transformed in a fairly uniform manner, while the residents of Abyss City transformed in vastly different ways, with almost no discernible pattern.

Gu Chengfeng gritted his teeth and ordered his soldiers to defend the city alongside the residents, but the collapse was faster than expected.

The demon army, with its pets as the vanguard, broke through the city walls the moment they reached the top. In the chaos, pets were constantly being killed by the demons and their pets.

Even Gu Chengfeng's soldiers couldn't stabilize the situation and were directly scattered.

If it weren't for the pet army holding the line at the front, risking their lives to temporarily block the demons, the city would probably have already fallen by now.

These demons were incredibly powerful; a single attack caused many pets to fall.

There are quite a few powerful cultivators in Abyss City, but under the onslaught of such a legion, the strength of a single cultivator is too limited.

Everyone was terrified; before they made contact, there was still a glimmer of hope in their hearts.

Now that they have actually come into contact with them, they have discovered that the demons are even more terrifying than they imagined. At the same level, the demons have an overwhelming advantage.

Its strength, speed, and depth of vital energy far surpass those of human cultivators of the same level.

Each demon seemed to be a chosen one among humans, killing ordinary cultivators as easily as killing chickens, and their defeat came so quickly.

Moreover, their military bearing is more orderly than that of humans, and their battle formations are more skilled.

If it weren't for the pets blocking the way, half of the soldiers and residents defending the city would probably be dead by now.

"The demon... when did it get to this point..." The old priest's face was ashen. He was fighting desperately, but he was powerless to turn the tide.

"It's over!" Gu Chengfeng knew that the situation was hopeless. Abyss City couldn't even hold out for an hour. They would probably all die here today.

Suddenly, a pink sword light flew out from the city wall, streaking across the void and heading towards the commander at the rear of the enemy camp. In just a flash, it arrived in front of the demon commander.

The Peach Blossom Sword is indestructible; it can take a person's head from the midst of a vast army as easily as taking something out of a bag.

The demon commander, riding on the back of a six-legged demon beast, made no attempt to dodge the Peach Blossom Sword that pierced through like lightning. A black dragon-shaped pet roared from his body, extending a dragon claw that actually grabbed the Peach Blossom Sword.

The Peach Blossom Sword trembled in the dragon's claws, seemingly powerless to break free.

But the next second, the Peach Blossom Sword suddenly broke free from the dragon's claws, instantly piercing through the black body, transforming into a pink sword rainbow, and flying back into Jin Taohua's hand.

The black dragon's body was pierced with a large hole, but the black energy inside surged and it quickly repaired itself.

"Jin Taohua, the number one female demon in the world, truly lives up to her reputation." The commander waved his hand, and the standard-bearer behind him waved the battle flag, which actually made the demon army temporarily stop attacking the city.

As the demons and their pets surged down like a tide, Gu Chengfeng and his companions were filled with suspicion and uncertainty, wondering what the demon commander was up to.

The demons are known for their slaughter, leaving nothing but devastation in their wake, not even a single survivor. But today, the demon commander is acting strangely. Not only has he trained his demon army to advance and retreat with perfect discipline, but he has also stopped his attack at this crucial moment to speak with Jin Taohua.

Jin Taohua also ordered the Blood Spirit troops to temporarily cease fighting, and coldly looked at the demon commander, saying, "You only found out today?"

The demon commander was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter: "Jin Taohua is indeed Jin Taohua, far superior to those trashy humans. You are an exceptionally outstanding human, just like us demons, a human with a higher level of evolution. If you are willing, you can come back with me. Humans cannot accept you, but we demons are willing to accept you."

"What's your name?" Jin Taohua asked the demon commander.

"Feng Zhantian of Wind Demon City," the demon commander answered proudly.

"Feng Zhantian, you have good taste," Jin Taohua said calmly.

Feng Zhantian laughed, but before he could speak, Jin Taohua continued, "Unfortunately, in my eyes, demons are just like other humans, trash with extremely low levels of evolution, and there is no difference between them."

Feng Zhantian's expression changed, and the demon warriors were all furious and excited. They immediately wanted to fight and massacre the city, chopping Jin Taohua into mincemeat.

Chen Guan, who was following behind Jin Taohua, was somewhat surprised to see that although the demon warrior was angry, he did not take action without orders.

Legend has it that demons are extremely bloodthirsty and unable to control their emotions, making it difficult for them to form a fighting force; this is simply their nature.

But these demons we see now are indeed incredibly ferocious, yet they clearly possess the ability to fight as a unit, making them somewhat different from the legends and even more terrifying.

Feng Zhantian actually suppressed his ferocity, stopped looking at Jin Taohua, and turned to look at the old priest on the city wall: "Old priest, you are also a demon, you should know the nature of us demons, and you also understand that these people in Abyss City are no longer regarded as our kind by humans. Take them under my command, and I can let you continue to live in Abyss City, let you live better than before, and gain the respect you deserve."

Chen Guan was somewhat surprised, not expecting the old priest to be a demon.

"Whether one is a demon or not is not determined by appearance, but by belief. Although I have the body of a demon, I am still human," the old priest said.

Feng Zhantian laughed mockingly: "You consider yourself a human being, but will others consider you one? Let alone you, everyone in this Abyss City, even those who are not demons, have countless connections with demons. Even they have been abandoned by humans, let alone you, a true demon."

"Old priest, why bother offering your kindness to someone who doesn't appreciate it? Wouldn't it be better to be a free and unrestrained demon? Why insist on being a slave to humans and not being accepted by them?"

Feng Zhantian's gaze swept across the city wall, and when he saw Gu Chengfeng, he continued, "You are Gu Chengfeng, right? Tell him, do the people of your City of No Tears even consider the people of Abyss City as human beings?"

“They are all human, of course.” Gu Chengfeng was startled. He hadn’t expected that this demon Feng Zhantian would even know his name. It was clear that there must be spies in the City of No Tears.

Feng Zhantian said disdainfully, "Hypocritical humans. If we really considered them human, we wouldn't have let them stay in this Abyss City."

"When humans first built this Abyss City, it was to exile those who gave birth in the secret realms to this place, to isolate them from the world and let them fend for themselves. Rather than saying that the people here are all criminals, it would be more accurate to say that they are all pitiful parents. They just wanted a child, what's wrong with that?"

Looking at the houses on the city gate tower, Feng Zhantian continued, "Those people killed your children, exiled you here, and made you live a life that is neither human nor ghost. They are your enemies. You should not be my enemies. We are the friends who should stand together."

Feng Zhantian's words caused many residents of Abyss City to waver.

Just as Feng Zhantian said, those exiled by Abyss City were not criminals at all, but ordinary cultivators who had violated the rule against childbirth in the secret realm and had given birth to children there.
