Final Lord

Chapter 236 Another Wonder

Chapter 236 Another Wonder

Wang Bufu was utterly captivated by the two natural wonders.

While Bai Ling was dozing off, Wang Bufu carefully studied the special effects and functions of the two wonders.

According to Wang Bufu's experience, most natural wonders have special effects that are not explicitly stated.

Sure enough, he found two in just over ten minutes of exploration.

"The White Spirit Tree King is not merely a defensive structure. Like a normal tree, it sheds leaves, blossoms, and bears fruit. The materials harvested from it are high-level extraordinary or even epic-level materials..."

The water of the Miracle Spring is drinkable; drinking it greatly increases short-term health and mana regeneration, but it reduces your Miracle Points.

When Wang Bufu's finger touched the hexagonal crystals floating in the spring water, the crystals suddenly collided randomly, making a jumbled tinkling sound.

"Ok?"

Wang Bufu frowned, suddenly noticing something unusual.

[Slaying the Root Transport Bug (Normal Tier 3) grants +16 Miracle Points]

[Slaying the Root Tear Bug (Transcendent Tier 1) grants +31 Miracle Points]

Current Miracle Points: 1247/100000

"No! Absolutely not! There's something wrong with the Miracle Points value."

Based on this kill point calculation

"The rootworms I've killed in the last two days alone should have provided the fountain with over 3000 Miracle Points, how could it only have 1247 now?"

Wang Bufu looked at the description of the [Supreme Miracle] special skill.

"When the points exceed 2, 10 are automatically consumed to generate a wonder... Could it be that..."

Wang Bufu's pupils constricted sharply: "The root worms I killed recently just caused my Miracle Spring points to overflow?!"

He suddenly stood up, bumping into a branch hanging from the Silver Tree King. The metal leaves rustled as he moved: "The White Spirit Tree King, the Spring of Life, the Spring of Miracles... and that's not all. There's also a newly formed natural wonder!"

Thinking of this, Wang Bufu trembled with excitement.

If his guess is true, that would be astonishing. At this point, the best course of action is to wake Bai Ling. Bai Ling is sensitive to everything in her world. But Wang Bufu is reluctant to wake her; he'd rather spend more time searching slowly, and if all else fails, he'll wait until Bai Ling wakes up the next day to ask her.

"The entire harpy corps is mobilized to search the White Spirit World once again."

……

Heska flapped her wings and flew swiftly, skimming over the lush forests and winding streams of the White Spirit World, her eyes searching everywhere with lightning speed, not missing a single unusual detail.

"Captain, look, the color of the grass to the northeast has changed."

The words of a harpy distracted Heska, and she looked toward the meadow to the northeast.

This meadow was unlike any other; the blades of grass were noticeably larger, with a bright, pale blue sheen, rustling and tinkling in the wind like countless tiny wind chimes whispering. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth, mingled with the distinctive sweet, slightly fishy smell of some kind of fungus. Heska keenly sensed the unusual sight. She swooped down, her sharp gaze sweeping across the center of the meadow—where a mushroom ring, about twenty meters in diameter, stood. Seven distinct types of mushrooms were arranged in perfect geometric patterns, their caps shimmering with a dazzling light, like works of art meticulously crafted by a master craftsman.

"Target spotted! Reconnoiter carefully!" Heska shouted, and the other harpies immediately circled down.

Upon closer inspection, they noticed that the soil inside the mushroom ring was spirally concave, and the naturally formed patterns shimmered with a faint blue light under the moonlight. Even more eerie, the ground in the center of the ring trembled slightly, as if something was breathing underground.

"Captain, there's another cave here!" A harpy pushed aside the grass around the mushroom ring, revealing a dark, burrow-like cave. The edges of the cave entrance were covered with a sticky network of mycelium, like a barrier deliberately woven by some kind of creature.

Heska cautiously tossed a pebble into the cave, and a hollow echo resounded from within. Immediately afterward, a spore mist carrying the metallic smell of rust erupted forth! The banshees quickly retreated, but Heska was unlucky enough to get a little bit of spores on her.

Fortunately, the spores appear to be harmless.

“This mushroom ring… it’s alive!” Heska’s pupils contracted. She noticed a rustling, wriggling sound coming from deep within the cave after the spore mist dissipated, as if countless mycelia were climbing up the cave walls.

Suddenly, the mushrooms in the mushroom ring simultaneously released spores, and many harpies were infected by the spores, showing some obvious adverse reactions.

"It's weakness, Captain, I can't lift my wings."

"Poisoned, my health is decreasing..."

"Retreat! Report to the lord immediately!" Heska ordered sharply. The banshees grabbed their spore-infected companions and soared into the sky, while the grassland behind them had fully "awakened."

The mycelium of the mushroom ring extends out like tentacles, rapidly decomposing and absorbing the nearby vegetation; from the dark caves, several strangely shaped fungal-inhabited war beasts crawl out, their appearance somewhere between insects and fungi, their compound eyes gleaming with the same cold bronze light as the mushroom ring.

……

"My lord! The mushrooms in the northeastern grasslands can bite!"

Heska stumbled and fell into the White Spirit Forest, where she found Wang Bufu inspecting the forest. Some spirit spores were fluttering down from between her wings.

The blind chicken smelled the odor, its nostrils twitched instantly, and it shouted nervously, "Everyone hold your breath! Don't smell that!"

He said angrily, "You reckless fool, how could you bring back poisonous spores? Don't you know that mushroom spores can spread in the air? What if they make the lord sick?"

Heska looked panicked and quickly stood still. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I didn't feel any discomfort..."

"That's because the spores on your body are very cunning!" The blind chicken excitedly ran to Heska's side, its nose twitching as it carefully sniffed the spores on Heska's body.

"Aha! Epic-level spores! My nose is a ruler, I absolutely cannot be mistaken, these are definitely epic-level mushroom spores!"
The effect of this spore is to affect your nerve reaction speed and greatly reduce your thinking ability, no wonder you rushed over so mindlessly.

"Don't move. I'll treat you."

With a gentle flick of his finger, the blind chicken caused some invisible tiny spores to coalesce, forming a long line that disappeared into his body.

The moment all the spores were dispersed, Heska suddenly realized that she could have reported the situation to Wang Bufu telepathically when she was near the White Spirit Forest, but she had completely forgotten this and insisted on flying to Wang Bufu's side. This was also the effect of the spores; it was truly terrifying.

"Heska, is there anyone else in the same situation as you?" Wang Bufu asked with a serious expression.

“And another thing!” Heska hurriedly said, “They were flying too slowly, so I abandoned them…” At this point, Heska’s expression changed drastically: “Oh my god! How could I abandon my teammates! What have I done?”
