Chapter 213 Amber
Helan moved slightly closer, carefully observing the damp meadow, but only found a few specks of light that were vaporizing; he couldn't even see the shadow of a beetle.

A halo of light suddenly appeared on the fern grove further away, and twelve butterfly-shaped creatures with fern-like compound eyes were sucking on the crystals on the silver fern leaves. Each time their mouthparts pierced the leaves, the entire silver fern would ripple with waves of light from its roots, like a neon light tube that had been switched on.

Helan took a deep breath. All her knowledge of insects and plants crumbled before this magical land.

She dared not touch anything here, fearing that touching it would cause something bad.

She moved with extreme caution, as if walking on thin ice floes.

“But it doesn’t matter.” Helan raised his head, his mind flashing back to Wang Bufu’s teachings and his experiences in the trials of war. “We have clones!”

Her body trembled on the spot, splitting in two and summoning a phantom that was also invisible.

Phantom cautiously approached the meadow at her command, touching the silver ferns and green grass.

The plants touched by the phantom emitted a shimmering glow, but aside from the light, they seemed harmless. This relieved Heran. She manipulated the clone away from herself and sent it to catch the glowing insects.

"The rest of the team members will spread out in groups of three, arranged in a clockwork pattern, to scout ahead. Use your clones to lead the way, with your main body following behind. The well-trained banshees immediately dispersed, and Helan led two team members to select a direction to search.

But the meadow was much larger than Helan had imagined. They flew for a full fifteen minutes, and the surrounding scenery remained unchanged.

Helan didn't linger and immediately led his team back when the time was up.

When she returned to the bushes, she immediately saw three masked banshees, still in stealth mode, anxiously waiting for her.

"Captain! We've detected a major anomaly at three o'clock..." a harpy exclaimed urgently. Heran immediately recognized the importance of this information after hearing the description. She didn't rush into action but waited for her teammates to return before regrouping and flying towards the three o'clock direction with the three members.

Upon reaching its destination, Helan's wings hovered in mid-air, its emerald pupils reflecting a clear lake. A deep blue halo pierced the lake's surface, making the shadowy mass lurking at the bottom of the lake even clearer.

It was an extremely long worm encased in amber!

The 46-meter-long worm's body was formed by countless dark purple tentacles intertwined together, each tentacle covered with dense spore cysts. The worm's body was covered with messy flesh and broken metal, and its appearance was very similar to that of the decaying root nest.

Amber-like substances seeped out from the cracks in the crystal rocks at the bottom of the lake, wrapping around the worm's body layer by layer like living gel, forming a translucent cocoon that encased the worm inside.

The harpies stepped back a considerable distance before whispering amongst themselves.

"Captain, this worm's appearance is so similar to the Corrupted Root Nest that it must be related to the Goldless Cult. Maybe the tunnel that Captain Blind Chicken discovered was left by it."

"We feel a strong pressure as soon as we get close to the worm. It must be much more powerful than the Corrupted Root Nest." "I think there are two possibilities for that amber cage: either the power of this forest has controlled it, or it was set up by the followers of the Goldless Cult."

If it's the first scenario, that's fine, but the second one would be terrible.

"Quickly tell the Lord Father this news. I have a feeling that if it bursts out of the amber, it will be terrifying."

Helan nodded and said, "Tess, immediately switch places with the lord's clone and send the message back. The rest of you follow me to continue the reconnaissance."

Ten minutes later, Helan and her team had another success.

Across the lake, hundreds of amber-shaped crystal pillars pierced through the rock strata of the lake shore, each containing a human figure draped in an earth-yellow robe.
