Dragon Tribulation of All Realms

Chapter 308 Catastrophe, Setting Sun

Chapter 308 Catastrophe, Setting Sun

"What calamity and setting sun..."

Atas Dragon Transformation, a unique creation of the Celestial Realm, the world of Cataclysmic Sun. It allows a powerful Witch King to transform into an even more powerful Atas Dragon. This is a fundamental and radical transformation, unlike the druid's mere inflated skin. However, unlike the druid's philosophy of merging with the natural environment, Atas Dragon Transformation itself signifies the ultimate desecration of the arcane path.

Because this is a path of blood sacrifice. The Atas Dragon Transformation Technique, or any stage of the Demon Dragon Transformation, requires the consumption of vast amounts of sentient life energy to advance the ritual. In other words, performing this ascension ritual requires the consumption of enormous quantities of plants, animals, and humans. Only then can one progress from one step of Demon Dragon Transformation to the next.

It's a classic cannibalistic style.

Heaven and earth do not bless us.

And so, Wu Chen began to understand why Valyria had suddenly suffered a cataclysmic disaster.

Perhaps it was because an Atas dragon had crossed over? Or perhaps, among the many kings of Valyria, one was attempting to achieve Atas dragonification? Of course, it's more likely that a combination of natural disasters and human calamities occurred, and the Valyrian dragon king attempting dragonification simultaneously opened a portal to another dimension. After all, the origin of dragons is actually Essos, and before the destruction of Valyria, the dragon kings living there had raised dragons for many years.

Anything is possible.

The truth has long been buried in the fragments of history.

What Wu Chen is certain of now is that there are no longer any living beings worthy of his attention in this land that Tiamat reshaped into Mesopotamia. Furthermore, if he were to spend some time exploring the depths of this land where secrets still remain, he might be able to find a hidden path to another world, connecting it to the worldview of the Cataclysmic Sunset Kingdom.

as well as……

Knowledge flowed through his eyes.

The Atas Dragon Transformation Technique he acquired was not the complete version. However, this fragmented manuscript was sufficient for him. After all, he could already transform into a dragon, so upgrading this single combat form was not something he needed to focus on too much.

The whole text can be used as a reference, and even fragments can be absorbed. Knowledge from different systems collided in his mind, and more inspiration quietly emerged.

only……

"An ancient dragon-level dragon king..." Wu Chen raised his head and looked north. In his ever-increasingly keen senses, the ominous clouds over the continent of Essos were gradually intensifying.

He had no idea what kind of fierce battle was taking place there. Yet he was preparing to step into it. If his memory of the Cataclysmic Sunset World was correct, then the prerequisite for executing the Atas Dragon Transformation Technique was the ability to cast ninth-level arcane magic and at least sixth-level psychic abilities.

Without a doubt, this is the level of a legendary mage. A legendary wizard capable of performing the Atas Dragon Transformation spell could naturally easily defeat an average Ancient Dragon. Even if this advancement technique is somewhat incompatible with the A Song of Ice and Fire universe, and the Valyrian Dragon King did not achieve full success after completing the ritual, it should still possess at least the strength of an Ancient Red Dragon in this world.

Hopefully, the negotiations won't turn into a fight to the death.

He pondered for a moment, then lingered a little longer on this newly formed land. Once the trial run of New Babylon proceeded without any obvious errors, and he had grasped and absorbed some of the essential elements of the fragmentary Atas Dragon Transformation Technique, he set off on his journey to Essos.

........................

Heading north along the Summer Sea, Wu Chen didn't choose to fly at high speed through the clouds this time. Instead, he sailed slowly northward at an altitude of about two thousand meters. Before seeing the coastline of the continent of Essos, he had countless speculations about the battle situation on this continent. However, as the coastline became clearer in his eyes and the specific situation on the land came into view, everything that was happening on the continent of Essos was still beyond his expectations. He saw flames, he saw death.

First came villages, one after another reduced to ruins and ashes. Countless human and animal skeletons lay scattered on the ground. Materialized curse energy flowed between the ruins and the wilderness, while all living things had perished some time ago.

All dead.

Whether it's a human, an animal, or an insect, it's the same.

Near the coastline, large swaths of dead fish have piled up on what was once the beach, battered by the waves. The rotting bones form a stenchy wall.

There are no survivors.

Tiamat, carried on Wu Chen's back, let out a mournful lament.

The first settlement they encountered with any sign of life was a city called Valantis. It had once been a powerful and free city-state known as the Queen of the Summer Sea. It was once prosperous and powerful, with hundreds and thousands of merchant ships coming and going in its harbor every day. But now, however, the entire harbor was filled with broken shipwrecks.

Monsters with enormous wings are gathering here. They resemble small dragons, yet possess the heads and horns of demons. The vast temple once dedicated to R'hllor, the god of light, has become their breeding ground, and countless skeletons have piled up within it, eventually burying the statue of the Red God.

It is Valyria.

The Valyrian Dragon King conquered the city, but then slaughtered all living creatures. He allowed the winged beasts he had brought from Valyria to ravage the city, leaving no survivors and not even a single ship to escape the battlefield.

Wu Chen lingered here for a short time. He wiped out the monsters that resembled dragons and demons, and buried the entire city. He did not allow Tiamat to exercise her power of creation here, to bring the destroyed kingdom back to life. Because he had a premonition that the current plight of Valantis was not an isolated case.

He then continued his journey, heading further north along the coastline. Soon, another trading city came into view.

That was Rhys, and its situation was the same as Valantis'. Thousands of dragons had slaughtered everyone in the city and unleashed deadly fire upon the wilderness and wastelands outside.

Further up lies Mil. A still-erupting active volcano stands atop the ruins of the trading city. Numerous volcanic worms, spewing lava, tumble and leap in the lava pools. And beneath the volcano, no one escaped its first eruption.

It's the same everywhere.

Further north, in Terosi and Pentos, only fire and death remained. Mutated fire-elemental monsters with distinct Valyrian characteristics annihilated all resistance, leaving no survivors. And none of the ships that witnessed this catastrophe managed to escape the ravages of war.

They were all dead. Nothing alive, nothing but monsters, remained. The earth was corrupted and defiled, reduced to the same ruins as Valyria had been.

Finally, Wu Chen arrived at the first destination that resonated with him – the most powerful trading city, Braavos, which was not far away.

And there he saw a falling sun.
