Dragon Tribulation of All Realms
Chapter 214 No Longer Mediocre
Chapter 214 - No Longer Mediocre
There was no need to hide his identity, as he had always been wearing the academy robes given to him by Hera. Since this was a public cemetery, no one had been surprised by his unusual attire before.
Furthermore, he did not wear the mask that he claimed to be God, nor did he cover his face.
and so--
He turned his head to look at the source of the voice—a rather formally dressed, yet relaxed and spirited woman. She looked like a successful girl next door, her movements and tone quite approachable.
It seems that Wu Chen's mindset is quite well-developed in the minds of her superiors—they know the most appropriate way to make their first contact with Wu Chen.
Unfortunately, the rulers of this land were ultimately too proud to admit their mistake. Otherwise, this first contact would likely have been more anime-like.
"What's wrong?" Wu Chen shifted his gaze back to the tombstone in front of him.
“I’ve come mainly to thank you.” She bowed slightly to Wu Chen. “Thanks to your help, my colleagues at the Sakurajima Embassy all survived. One hundred and seventy-eight other Chinese citizens also survived. You saved their lives.”
"They've all been withdrawn?"
“Hmm,” the woman responded. “The evacuation of Furo went smoothly, but there are still some people who…”
Those people were once in the convention center.
Those people are now in the royal secret chamber.
Wu Chen raised his hand, and she shut her mouth. Wu Chen's magic then unfolded, and the spatial portal that the royal secret chamber pointed to opened to its maximum size.
It was a vortex several meters high—and a commotion arose not far away the moment it materialized. There were no impolite sounds of guns being cocked, but many people exclaimed in surprise, astonished by this power that interfered with spacetime.
The vortex stabilized, and the portal opened wide. The believers who had been forcibly transferred to the secret dimension by Wu Chen were now able to see the light from the outside world. They immediately let out sounds of joy and frenzied shouts.
"Praise be to you! Great Lord!" "Gods bless! God bless!" "I will follow you for all eternity! Please allow your humble believer to pay homage to you!"
Their voices were loud and boisterous.
Their voices stopped at the raised palm of Wu Chen.
The bond of faith still exists between them and Wu Chen, and Wu Chen has done what he promised them.
"This..." The pupils of the envoy from the Eastern Continent visibly contracted.
And then, in the next moment, he returned to normal in front of Wu Chen.
“You can go and settle them now.” Wu Chen didn’t look at the portal, nor at his followers. He knew that many of the inhabitants in the secret chamber were spies and agents from various countries. And he had no interest in wasting his time on them, or anyone else.
The woman made a gesture.
A well-trained force quickly sprang into action, swiftly and silently entering the cemetery and stepping into the secret dimension opened by Wu Chen. As the effects of the wide-area soothing spell were activated once more, the survivors, who had been somewhat devout and fanatical just moments before, immediately became orderly and obedient again.
"them……"
“They’re fine.” Wu Chen’s will swept across the woman’s name tag—her surname was Fang, so he would just call her Commissioner Fang. “The magic calmed their nervous system, preventing their emotions from fluctuating too much in a short period of time. The magic will not last more than half an hour. You can check for any aftereffects yourselves.”
"On their behalf, I thank you again, Wu Chen."
“No need for thanks, it’s just a matter of mutual benefit.” Wu Chen waved his hand. Now, he no longer needed to hide or pretend, to conceal information that couldn’t be kept hidden for long in the first place. “I need the power of faith.”
"...You're really straightforward."
The evacuation was proceeding smoothly, even though many of the survivors belonged to Sakurajima. But at this point, no one cared about such a trivial variable. "I've just figured some things out," Wu Chen replied, his gaze returning to the tombstone before him. "I should achieve something, I should have grand goals. I should build a vision and fight for it, and ultimately, I should fulfill my cause and ideals."
"The Eastern Continent is willing to contribute to your cause," Commissioner Fang replied without hesitation. "What can we do for your cause, Wu Chen?"
A slight disturbance broke out in the evacuation procession. A girl dressed as a shrine maiden did not cooperate with the soldiers' evacuation. Instead, she defied the effects of the calming spell and ran to a spot a few meters behind Wu Chen—she knelt down, prostrated herself on the ground, and then remained silent.
Wu Chen remembered her. She was Wu Chen's first follower and the first local he met on the land of Sakurajima. Her name was Hayakawa Shiori, and she realized the truth that her god no longer needed followers.
It can be considered a kind of predestined connection.
Wu Chen raised his hand towards her, and she breathed a long sigh of relief. She quickly got up, stood quietly, and stood not far behind Wu Chen.
"I intend to find out the reason for all this, and then deal with it," Wu Chen said, revealing his wish and his goal.
He now understands what he can do alone, and what he should do—he needs to figure out why that phone ended up on his head, and what triggered the otherworldly projection phenomenon. And after solving these mysteries, he must find a way to end this otherworldly catastrophe and dispose of it properly.
This is a responsibility he must bear, because the phone ended up in his hands. He profited from it, and thus had the opportunity to control and reshape his own destiny; therefore, he should naturally bear the corresponding responsibility and pay the corresponding price.
Even if his 'friend' only request was that he throw the phone into the ocean of nothingness when he no longer needed it.
Now, the decision has been made.
He turned his head and looked towards the end of the earth, towards the east of the sky. Ordinary people had no way of knowing what was happening at the end of his vision, just as most people in the Eastern Continent were unaware that Fuluo no longer existed.
"How's the fighting going over there?" he asked.
Commissioner Fang turned her head slightly, and the miniature communicator on her ear granted her access to authority and intelligence.
“It’s very bad.” She gave a bitter smile. “Those two monsters classified as ‘dragons’ are now fighting each other on Sakurajima. Three minutes after you left Furo, Furo was completely destroyed. And now, seven large cities on Sakurajima have been severely damaged in the aftermath of their battle. The casualties are incalculable, and the World Government’s army…”
It's only natural that the military can't do anything.
No matter how powerful the army is on this planet, it cannot fight against natural disasters, because they are not strong enough.
Wu Chen nodded and continued to ask her questions.
“How many countries are watching this place right now?” he asked.
"The major powers are all..." He received an answer.
The next moment, brilliant light burst forth from his hand.
The light of magic, the light of resurrection.
The light penetrated deep into the ground beneath the tombstone.
And right before everyone's eyes, two blurry human figures materialized out of thin air amidst the radiance!
“Then…” Wu Chen’s spellcasting was accompanied by his words.
"I want to become the Lord of Mount Tai."
