Dragon Tribulation of All Realms

Chapter 207 The Container of the Demon God

Chapter 207 The Demon God's Vessel

When exactly did it all begin?
Wu Chen recalled that his memory was finally fixed on the battlefield at the top of the Scattered Bone Ridge when he first returned from Earth—he returned to Nien with a huge boost of willpower from Earth, and because he was unwilling to miss his ultimate, he released that Blazing Torrent towards the target that was already in a losing position.

That attack did indeed eliminate all threats on the Bone Ridge, but it could also have been the source of a leaked secret. Perhaps those demons truly couldn't see into the dream where their 'friend' resided. But that doesn't mean they couldn't obtain information that 'this person named Duster is abnormal.'

—That plane.

Distant memories flooded his mind. Even though it was only a month ago, it felt like an eternity to Wu Chen—he remembered the scene when he first arrived in Nien, and the airliner that crashed in the wilderness outside the Misty Tower. The exploding fuel had concealed many secrets, but the premise for their true concealment was that no powerful force had noticed it.

Is it really that difficult to go back a certain period of time?

How much resource consumption would be required to recreate the scene before the crash?
Wu Chen wasn't sure; he wasn't particularly skilled in this area. But even so, he knew—

Even now, I'm not entirely without the confidence to uncover the secrets of that area.

He exhaled silently.

The red light flickering beneath the ruins of Yharnam was faintly expanding—something he should have realized long ago, long ago when his dream self inexplicably donned the guise of 'Shattered Shield.' Perhaps the Shattered Shield family did exist in the Second Era and participated in this campaign. But if one were to shift their perspective, this coincidence would seem far too contrived.

What is his connection to the Shattered Shield?

The biggest connection is simply that he took action to save Frigga.
Ah, indeed. Such a connection alone is enough to satisfy many hidden needs. After all…

"Of all the family names in Windhelm, the only one I can recall is Shattered Shield."

Because he only knew about the Shattered Shield, the identity of the Shattered Shield belonged to him. This is proof that the authority within the dream has been slightly transferred. It is also a sign that the influence of the deeper dream is interfering with the surface.

He raised his palm.

The sealed hall beneath the earth shattered with a deafening roar, sending shockwaves through the entire Windhelm sewer system within the deepest dream. One after another, tall figures clad in heavy trench coats strode out of the darkness, slashing down their blades upon all living or inanimate objects that could potentially become vessels for Morag Bal's power.

It could be a knife, a battle axe, a greatsword, a heavy hammer, or a cane.

They are agile, and their weapons can transform. Slaying monsters is as easy as crushing ants. For they are hunters of Yharnam, manifestations of the Witch's Dream.

“I should have discovered it sooner.” Wu Chen snapped his fingers.

More ruins of Yharnam pressed down, their immense mass crushing the vampire-transformed dragon to the ground. Vast amounts of foul blood gushed from the ruins, burning atop the blood manifested by Morag Bal.

His journey through the sewers reminded him of the little girl from Yharnam, and thus, images of Yharnam appeared in this dream. This is the evidence that the true owner of this dream had already been silently replaced by him.

However, the red light still burst forth beneath the ruins.

The roar that erupted was like the furious howl of a demon god.

“The dragon is real.” Elemental spheres appeared beside Wu Chen, and a protective layer immediately formed around him. That was the chaotic spiritual energy he could only use in the Heavenly Realm of the Kingdom, but when he realized this was his dream, this power and skill were also bestowed upon him. “But your power is real too.”

"You forcibly transferred a dream corrupted by your power to me, expecting me to use my own unique power within this dream."

Wu Chen recalled his past in Nirn. He had only stayed on this land for less than ten days, yet he had come into contact with far too much vampire power. Whether it was the Bone Ridge or the Kinai Forest, he was essentially dealing with Morag Bal's kin.

The more battles one fights, the more one exposes. One's secrets are thus gradually revealed to the demon god. Not directly using the remains of the vampire wizard Gerd to purchase the 'Twin Souls' was perhaps a very fortunate decision. However, carrying that portion of his body tissue with him for a period of time may still have leaked some information.

Information from dreams.

To traverse worlds, one needs to rely on the power of dreams—this is understandable in the world of Mondas. However, once the Demon God possessed and controlled the projected dragon, it also turned its attention to him.

—Because I am the key.

—The only usable and free key.

The struggling dragon stopped. The boiling blood light then faded. A familiar figure reappeared in Wu Chen's sight; it was Lei Mei.

Her long hair had turned a deep crimson, unlike before. But deep within her eyes, a light of defiance and resistance still flickered.

“You couldn’t escape, Mr. Duster.” She looked at Wu Chen, her tone filled with pity and regret. “This road was indeed a way out; you could have escaped successfully using this road.”

She wasn't lying. Because her very existence was a form of rebellion. Wu Chen's being guided here wasn't entirely due to the Demon God's decision. And it was indeed because of her guidance that Wu Chen noticed the anomalies in the dream.

"Possessed and controlled by a demon god, thinking you've escaped, but in reality, you're just having the demon god's power gradually seep into your body?" Wu Chen shook his head, a cold smile playing on his lips. "You consider that an escape?"

“At least you still have a chance to struggle. A chance to resist.” Lemma sighed. “But now, you must face the power of the demon god.”

Her eyes gradually turned deep red, and Ramaya's defiance and resistance were silenced by the power of the demon god. Her body then transformed, taking on another form that Wu Chen was familiar with.

It's Callisto.

Wu Chen should have killed him, but spared him temporarily due to other considerations. Perhaps it was just an instinctive, self-serving choice. And now, Callisto's true identity has been fully revealed.

He was already part of the demon god long ago.

Morag Bal already had him.

His true purpose here should be to serve as a vessel for the demon god, allowing this powerful being residing in Annihilation Harbor to unleash its power after the complete ritual. But now, it has been activated far too early.

“My master has given me a task; He wants me to ask you a question.” A crimson light of power burned in the eyes of the hapless necromancer. “Obey, or torture and death.”

He was no longer Callisto—even though he still possessed the personality and body of that clumsy necromancer. A massive shadow loomed behind him. And the worm-like staff that Wuchen had abandoned on the surface of the dream world was now in its grasp.

Wu Chen simply raised his hand and gave him the middle finger.

"Well, then, that's it."

It raised the worm's staff.

However, just as it was about to make its move, a sword slash that appeared out of nowhere severed its body!
