Chapter 44 The Root of Ten Reincarnations

The dragon clan also wants to go there and take a look!
What a simple idea!

Ye Xuantian nodded: "The ancient dragon and phoenix clans were both proud. Now that you have the luck of the four seas, it is only natural that you have such ambition. Then you should practice hard here. When you achieve success in the future, I will take you to see that way."

Ao Jun immediately prostrated himself and said, "Disciple thanks Master! Disciple dares to ask where Master is going next?"

Ye Xuantian: "You have mastered the Three Caves of the Dragon Clan to perfection. With these methods on the chessboard, I will not abandon you. Don't worry. Next, I will first see how far your second senior brother can go after gaining the power of the underground tunnel, and second, I will go to the fifth shackle of the underground tunnel to trick him."

"Where is the fifth shackle?"

"The ghost house, the Ksitigarbha Temple!"

……

"Jin Chanzi has met Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva!" Jin Chanzi was surrounded by dazzling golden light and the Buddhist rhyme was mighty. After all, he had the Buddha's Sanskrit voice in his ears. At this time, Jin Chanzi only had a sincere heart towards the West.

Looking at such a golden cicada, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva felt a lot of emotion in his heart.

"During the time of Hongmeng, the two saints from the West wanted to turn me into part of the nourishment of the Heavenly Dao. I refused to become nourishment of the Heavenly Dao, nor did I want to become a puppet of the Heavenly Dao, so I made a great wish and fell into the underground tunnel."

"What I didn't expect was that they had planned my vow to be forever imprisoned in the underworld a long time ago. People only thought I was righteous and said I made this vow in order to achieve sainthood through merit."

"Some even said I was going to land in the Ghost Palace, just like Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun, to fight for a share of karma for the West."

"But what they don't know is that it was the two saints who made me guard the underworld with Western karma. It's not that I don't want to leave the underworld, but rather that I can't leave the underworld."

"I will not become a Buddha until hell is empty. If hell could be empty, that would be a miracle. However, it is because of this great vow that I have locked my body here and the tunnel. I never thought that after the Conferred God Tribulation, I would actually meet someone who shares my plight!"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was muttering there, and as he spoke, his eyes became more moist.

There was a hint of coldness in Jin Chanzi's eyes: "Ksitigarbha, are you expressing your dissatisfaction with the Two Saints?"

Jin Chanzi's icy voice restored some clarity to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. He wiped away his nonexistent tears and looked at Jin Chanzi: "Lord Buddha, am I wrong?"

The shadow of Tathagata appeared behind Jin Chanzi: "It's just guarding the tunnel, but it can be exchanged for a nearly immortal life. Such a good thing is something others can't even ask for, and yet you don't even cherish it."

"It seems that the Buddha is very envious of my position. How about this, the Buddha takes my position and I go to your Buddhaland to sit there for a while?"

"Ksitigarbha, you are so outrageous!"

"I'm just responding to the Buddha the way he responded to me. Can't the Buddha bear it?"

"Hmph! If the West can't gain enough merit during this calamity, do you think the power of your incense will still be so strong? I've heard that Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun has already obtained part of the Taiyin Law. If the merit of this calamity really goes wrong, I believe the Jade Emperor will take the opportunity to pull you out of the cycle of reincarnation in the underworld."

This time, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva did not strike back at the Buddha, for he knew full well that the Buddha was not lying. The Emperor of Heaven simply wished to bring the Underworld under his control, ideally abolishing even the Taiji Miaoyan Palace. This way, the number of reincarnations would be transferred to Heaven, with the Ten Kings of Hell reporting directly to the Jade Emperor.

Seeing Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's silence, the Buddha said, "I know you are unwilling to be imprisoned in the underworld, but this is your mission. After all, you and Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun are the only ones who possess the power of reincarnation."

"And as I said before, how many people in this world can achieve near-immortality with just a single wish? I don't know how many people are eyeing your position. Don't be ungrateful for the blessings you have."

Seeing that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva still didn't say anything, the Buddha finally calmed down and said with a smile, "In the past few days, I have observed changes in the way of heaven. The causal connection between the kalpa and my Western world has become much weaker. Therefore, I have no choice but to let Jin Chanzi enter the cycle of reincarnation early. You should arrange for his reincarnation and act in secret. Before anyone notices us, you can take away the merits of this kalpa!"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva looked at the slightly dazed Jin Chanzi and shook his head: "I'm afraid it won't work!"

"What do you mean? Are you going to betray the West?" the Buddha said coldly.

"Lord Buddha, your talk of righteousness won't work on me, and there's no need to threaten me. Two ancient saints wanted to sacrifice me to the Heavenly Dao, but they both failed. Moreover, I'm still connected to the shackles of the Underworld, so you can't do anything to me!"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva spoke a lot of words in an eloquent manner, and the temperature of the Buddha's body dropped a lot.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was not affected at all: "The reason I said no is because he has hidden cultivation. As long as he takes the path of reincarnation, he will definitely be born with strange signs. As soon as he lands, he will be observed by all parties, especially Taiyi Jiuku Tianzun."

"In this way, as soon as he is born, he will no longer have the possibility of bearing the calamity." The Buddha took over the words of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.

"Then let him be reborn as a mortal, and let Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva guide him in secret, so that he can embark on the path of cultivation and preaching. How do you think that would be?"

The Buddha's words left Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva silent for a long time. He calculated with one hand and finally said, "It seems feasible, but the Buddha has determined the cause and effect since he took action. I'm afraid it will take the tenth generation to successfully spread the teachings."

Hearing this, the Buddha nodded and said: "It will take no more than five or six hundred years, just one Nirvana."

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva nodded and said, "In that case, please leave!"

Almost at the same time that Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva finished speaking, the shadow of the Buddha began to gradually dissipate.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva looked at Jin Chanzi, his lips curled up slightly. "If a man does not work for himself, he will be punished by heaven and earth. Your mind has been wiped out by the Buddha. You are just a puppet. Using five hundred years of your life in exchange for my deep involvement in this catastrophe is the most beneficial to me!"

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva made a hand gesture, and the next second, a light gate appeared in front of him. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva waved his sleeves, and Jin Chanzi disappeared into it.

Di Ting, who was beside Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, slowly raised his head and said, "Master, five hundred years seems a bit long. Master, aren't you afraid of the long night and the many dreams?"

"There's no other way. The one from Huaguo Mountain is too unpredictable. If the time is too short, I'm worried that the merit I can snatch from him won't be enough to support my sainthood!"

"This is a simple matter! Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva just needs to cooperate with me!"
