Chapter 364 The Motivated Cat Sculpture Xiaotian
Chapter 364 The Motivated Cat Sculpture Xiaotian
Consciousness seemed to rise slowly from the warm, deep seabed. Tian Xiwei opened her eyes groggily. The bedroom was bright, and the sunlight shone through the gaps in the curtains, dazzling her eyes in a slightly annoying way.
Jiang Qing was no longer by his side, and the empty space was cold, indicating that she had been gone for quite some time.
Did they leave without saying goodbye?
She stretched lazily, feeling sore all over but also strangely comfortable, and unconsciously let out a muffled murmur.
A few seconds later, her muddled mind jolted awake, and she became completely clear-headed.
What time is it?!
She abruptly turned her head to look at the electronic alarm clock on the bedside table, where the red numbers clearly displayed: 09:47!
"Oh my God!!!"
A scream that shook heaven and earth shattered the silence of the room.
Tian Xiwei sprang up from the bed as if pricked by a needle, completely ignoring the blanket slipping off her naked body.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no! I'm late, I'm late! The director is going to kill me! And the makeup artist is going to give me a hard time again!"
She wailed incoherently as she jumped out of bed, her bare feet slapping against the wardrobe, cursing incessantly.
"It's all Jiang Qing's fault, that idiot! He took advantage of me and ran away! He completely ignored me after he was done with me! He made me so tired I overslept! And the worst part is, he didn't even warn me before he ran off! That son of a bitch! Next time we meet, I'm going to make him pay..."
She flung open the wardrobe door, frantically rummaging through the clothes inside, not caring about matching them, grabbing a white undershirt and a pair of blue jeans and throwing them on in such a hasty manner that she almost tore the clothes.
"Ugh! What's wrong with this button? It's so hard to button!"
She was struggling with the buttons on her jeans, her fingers clumsy from anxiety, her cheeks flushed red.
Just then, there were a few slow knocks on the door behind me.
"Tuk, Tuk, Tuk..."
Tian Xiwei suddenly stopped pulling on her pants, freezing in place.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she slowly turned around.
At the bedroom doorway, Jiang Qing was leaning casually against the door frame, having changed into a clean light gray shirt and black trousers. Her eyes were playful, and she looked very relaxed.
He crossed his arms, a smug smile on his face, his eyes full of mockery, as he looked on with great interest at her disheveled and embarrassed state.
"Teacher Tian is quite energetic this early in the morning."
Jiang Qing spoke slowly.
"Who is this person criticizing? Hmm? Someone who takes advantage and runs away... What a bastard? I don't remember that being a nice word, right?"
Tian Xiwei's face flushed bright red instantly, like a ripe tomato. Her fiery temper vanished without a trace, leaving only the embarrassment of being caught red-handed.
Who knows if he's still alive!
This is it!
"You...you haven't left yet?"
She asked hesitantly, subconsciously pulling her jeans up even further, trying to cover more skin, even though he had already seen everything she should and shouldn't have seen.
"If I really leave."
Jiang Qing strode in, looking her over with a casual tone and a half-smile.
"Doesn't this confirm the accusation that Teacher Tian is talking about—'closing the man after getting his pants up'?"
He walked up to her and naturally reached out to help her fix the small piece of fabric that had been tangled with a button. His fingertips occasionally brushed against her flat stomach, causing a subtle shiver.
"I...I thought you had left a long time ago..."
Tian Xiwei shrank her neck shyly, her voice barely audible, and let him help her.
"Why didn't you wake me up? You scared me half to death..."
"You're sleeping like a little pig, drooling all over, I couldn't bear to."
Jiang Qing helped her straighten her pants, then reached out and gently smoothed her frizzy hair, which had become messy from sleeping. Her movements were natural.
"I've already asked Gong Yuhan to ask the crew for leave for you. They said you weren't feeling well and your morning scenes were rescheduled for the afternoon."
Tian Xiwei suddenly raised her head, her big eyes wide open.
"You've already asked for leave?!"
"Ah."
Jiang Qing nodded and pinched her little face.
"I bought breakfast from outside: tofu pudding, fried dough sticks, and pan-fried buns from that place you've been talking about so many times. Go wash up and come out to eat."
Tian Xiwei then realized that he had not only not left, but had also quietly arranged everything.
A warm, slightly shy feeling instantly enveloped her.
She said "Oh," obediently slipped on her slippers, lowered her head, and like a puppy that had done something wrong and been scolded by its owner but then comforted, she quickly slipped into the bathroom.
You've wronged me!
A dozen minutes later, Tian Xiwei finished washing up and quickly put on some light makeup.
She changed into a red rose floral dress with a V-neck that perfectly revealed her delicate collarbone. The skirt length, above the knee, accentuated her tall and beautiful figure.
Her long hair was draped over her shoulders, with a large red flower tucked behind her ear. The soft curls at the ends of her hair fell gently down her chest, making her small face look even more delicate. Her big eyes blinked, making her look sweet and lively.
She walked out of the bedroom awkwardly and saw Jiang Qing already sitting at the dining table, browsing the news on a tablet computer, with a steaming cup of coffee beside her.
Several open lunch boxes were placed on the table, and the aroma of food filled the air.
Tian Xiwei sidled up to him, sat down in the chair next to him with a fawning expression, leaned close to him, and spoke in a sweet and coquettish voice.
"Jiang Qing~ Thank you so much~ You're so thoughtful~"
As she spoke, she gently bumped his arm with her shoulder, her big eyes blinking with a hint of coquetry.
Jiang Qing looked up from the tablet, glanced at her, her expression unchanged, and simply gave a faint "hmm" before pushing a bowl of savory tofu pudding in front of her.
"Eat quickly, it just came out of the insulated bag, it won't taste good if it gets cold."
Seeing his lukewarm reaction, Tian Xiwei pouted, but she wasn't discouraged. She picked up a spoon and scooped up a spoonful of tofu pudding, but didn't eat it right away. Instead, she continued to whine in that sickeningly sweet voice.
"Oh my, I really didn't expect that! You even helped me ask for leave and bought me breakfast! You're the best!"
She then used the hand that wasn't holding the spoon to tug at his sleeve and gently shake it.
"Did you stay here especially to keep me company? Are you reluctant to part with me?"
Jiang Qing was overwhelmed by her repeated attempts to charm her, and the corners of her mouth curved up almost imperceptibly, but she quickly suppressed it and deliberately kept a straight face.
"Don't talk while eating or sleeping, Teacher Tian, where's your professional ethics as an actor?"
"What kind of manners do you expect from me!"
Tian Xiwei, speaking with self-righteousness, moved even closer, almost touching him.
"Can self-cultivation put food on the table? Is it more important than you?"
The faint scent of her skincare products, mixed with the soft fragrance unique to girls, wafted over. Jiang Qing finally couldn't stand it anymore, put down the tablet, and turned to glare at her.
"Tian Xiwei, if you don't eat properly, I'm really leaving."
Tian Xiwei immediately knew when to stop. She sat up straight, picked up her spoon, and raised her hand in salute. "I'll eat! I'll eat right away! Look how fast I'm eating!"
As she spoke, she actually started eating heartily, her cheeks bulging out like a little hamster hoarding food, her eyes occasionally glancing at him with a sly smile.
Jiang Qing looked at her like this and finally laughed out loud. She shook her head and picked up a fried dough stick and handed it to her.
"Eat slowly, no one will compete with you."
"Mmm, hehe~"
Tian Xiwei grinned at him happily.
Jiang Qing smiled, recalling how she had just raised her hand in salute; it really did look like a kitten saluting.
The two then began to eat breakfast quietly, exchanging a few words occasionally.
Tian Xiwei was in a great mood and had a big appetite, so she ate most of the breakfast that Jiang Qing had bought.
After finishing the last bite of the pan-fried bun, she wiped her mouth contentedly, regained her energy, and turned to look at Jiang Qing with anticipation on her face.
"So what are your plans for this afternoon? You're not really leaving, are you?"
Her eyes were watery, filled with reluctance, hoping he could stay a little longer.
Jiang Qing finished the last sip of coffee and put the cup down.
"Yes, the flight to Beijing is this afternoon."
Tian Xiwei's smile vanished instantly, and her lips drooped.
"Huh? You're really leaving? Can't you stay for another half a day? Just half a day!"
She held up two fingers, emphasizing "half a day," in an attempt to bargain.
"The show is about to air, so we need to go there in advance to cooperate with some promotional activities."
Jiang Qing explained with a smile, her tone calm but not open to discussion.
"Besides, I only helped you get half a day off. If you don't go in the afternoon, it will be hard to explain to the director. You have to be serious about your work and follow the rules."
Tian Xiwei knew the importance of her work, but she couldn't help feeling disappointed, and her displeasure instantly spread across her face.
She pouted, snorted, and suddenly stood up. She walked over to Jiang Qing and squeezed into his chair without saying a word, insisting on sitting with him. She hugged his neck tightly, buried her face in his neck, and started to act spoiled.
"I don't care! Don't leave! Let them wait a day for the publicity! It's not a big deal! You'll come with me to film, just watch me shoot, okay?"
Her voice was both sweet and willful, and she kept wriggling in his arms, trying to change his mind.
Jiang Qing was so bothered by her that he could only reach out and wrap his arms around her waist to prevent her from falling, and patiently comfort her.
"Stop messing around. The publicity work was arranged a long time ago, and we can't change it at the last minute. You just focus on filming this afternoon, and be a good boy/girl."
"I won't listen, I won't listen!"
Tian Xiwei started acting unreasonably.
"I overslept as soon as you arrived, and I didn't get to spend any time with you! All you do is bully me! And now you're trying to run away! You're doing it on purpose! I won't stand for it!"
Jiang Qing knew that she wasn't really being unreasonable; she was just being reluctant to part with the child and was venting her emotions.
He patted her back gently, like he was coaxing a child.
"I'll come see you again when I'm done with this busy period. Or, you can come to Luyang when your filming schedule isn't too tight."
"You said it!"
Tian Xiwei immediately raised her head, staring at him, demanding a guarantee.
"Don't lie to me! You're a dog if you lie!"
"Well, I won't lie to you."
Jiang Qing nodded with a smile.
Seeing his resolute attitude, Tian Xiwei knew she couldn't keep him, and her anger flared up again.
She jumped off his lap, put her hands on her hips, and deliberately made a huffy face before announcing loudly.
"Hmph! Let's go! Anyway, your 'Lighter and Princess Dress' will definitely not air as well as my 'Qingqing's Daily Life'! Our sweet dramas are the way to go! The audience doesn't like your kind of angst-filled dramas! If I suppress the ratings, don't cry!"
Her words were childish, clearly an attempt to save face and, incidentally, to "curse" him.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Qing finally couldn't help but chuckle softly, finding her bluffing little act particularly amusing.
He nodded in agreement with her words, his tone indulgent.
"Okay, you're right. Your 'Qingqing Daily Life' will definitely be the best broadcast. Teacher Xiaotian has superb acting skills, is beautiful and kind-hearted, cute and sweet. The audience will definitely love watching it."
His perfunctory praise made Tian Xiwei a little embarrassed. She snorted and turned her face away, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn up slightly.
It was almost time, so Jiang Qing stood up and picked up the coat draped over the back of the chair.
The smile on Tian Xiwei's face faded as she watched him get dressed. Her earlier smugness and temper had vanished, replaced by a deep sense of reluctance.
She stepped forward and slowly straightened his coat collar.
"All right."
Jiang Qing took her hand and squeezed it gently.
"I have to go now, or I'll miss my flight. Focus on filming this afternoon."
"Ah."
Tian Xiwei responded softly, lowering her eyelashes to conceal her emotions.
Finally, she raised her head, took the initiative to stretch out her arms and hug him tightly, burying her face in his chest for a moment, her voice muffled.
"Then remember to come see me when you have time... And don't forget what you promised me!"
"it is good."
Jiang Qing hugged her and gently patted her back.
Compared to Dudu's rationality and self-control, Xiaotian's boldness and enthusiasm, and that clingy and dependent nature, are indeed more psychologically satisfying.
"Okay. I'm leaving."
He released her and turned to walk towards the door.
Tian Xiwei followed closely to the door, watching him open it and his tall figure disappear behind it, his footsteps fading into the distance.
She leaned against the doorframe, not closing the door immediately, but staring at the empty corridor. It felt as if a piece of her heart had been suddenly hollowed out. The lively warmth in the room just moments before had instantly cooled, leaving only disappointment and silence.
After a long while, she sighed softly, closed the door, slid down onto the carpet with her back against the door, hugged her knees, and stared blankly for a while.
However, Tian Xiwei is Tian Xiwei after all; her low mood came and went quickly.
A few minutes later, she patted her cheeks, stood up, and cheered herself up.
"Hmph! Work, work! Make money, make money! Wait till he comes along and I'll make a name for myself! Once my show is a hit, I'll go and give him a piece of my mind! Hmph!"
She cheered herself up and strode confidently toward the bedroom, ready to change clothes and head to the film set for the afternoon's shooting.
She carefully hung the red floral dress back in the closet, reluctant to change it immediately.
