Do you all know the future?

Chapter 71 Realizing He Had Lost

Chapter 71 Realizing He Had Lost
By the time Diane returned from the Spirit Realm, it was already late. The Spirit Realm and the real world are somewhat different; there is no daytime in the Crimson City, and the night there is daytime in the material world.

The head maid remained steadfast, which made Diane feel somewhat embarrassed, as she enjoyed herself while the head maid waited idly.

Diane simply hugged the head maid's waist to express her apology. The head maid sniffed Diane's scent and roughly understood what had happened.

As for the beautiful woman who had already been watered into a bright rose, she was returned to Diane and handed over to the head maid. Afterwards, she went back to scold her son for not working hard enough in his cultivation, because Diane would speak up for Loran in front of her.

"How did Master end up cultivating in Dean Isabella's bed while he was cultivating?"

With a smile, the head maid and the two left the portal. The head maid teased Diane, her heterochromatic eyes filled with mockery.

"They said my first training session would require me to clear my mind of all distractions, and then... Margaret, you'll find out!"

Diane didn't hide anything and directly told him how Isabella had kept him focused!

"That's a clever way to do things. The power of the Holy Blood is indeed strong, and she's already considering your needs."

Upon hearing this, the head maid showed a hint of embarrassment. She hadn't really thought of this method. It was her first time absorbing free spiritual energy, and she didn't want to go through such trouble.

"It's not entirely due to the Holy Blood; Isabella likes me too!"

Diane argued that she didn't win over the headmistress with her holy blood; the maid had liked Diane before she was fully penetrated.

"Okay, okay, I'm just jealous..."

The head maid adjusted her skirt, and lowered her eyes upon hearing Diane's resolute words.

"What are you jealous of? Have you been reborn too? Are you still the Margaret I know?"

Diane took Margaret's hand, stopped, and looked up at the mature maid. The maid's imposing figure suggested she couldn't possibly have said such a thing.

"What are you saying? I'm just expressing my admiration that there is a woman who doesn't love the master because of the Holy Blood, but like me, she loves the master just as much as I do."

The head maid was both amused and exasperated; she was simply struck by how much Diane could think.

"She definitely doesn't love me as much as you do, but she doesn't love you as much as I do either. At least in my heart, there's no such thing as equality. You're number one!"

Diane breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at the smiling head maid.

"And I should thank you. If you hadn't mistaken me for your son, Teacher Isabella would never have been so indulgent towards me."

Diane was able to get close to Isabella in the first place thanks to the head maid. If it weren't for the head maid, Isabella would have taught Diane a lesson long ago.

"Yeah, I wonder what her expression will be when she finds out you're my husband!"

The head maid blinked and said it was quite amusing; Isabella's insults to Diane, calling her "father," were being delivered verbatim to Diane.

"It must be double the happiness, being the woman of the same man as your idol, while your idol is still alive and even closer to you."

Diane could imagine Isabella's awkwardness afterward and smiled knowingly. He was certain that Isabella would still love him even after finding out, but her reaction would certainly be quite amusing.

"You're a bad thing too. Have you thought about when to tell her? After being bathed in holy blood, she should be able to trust you."

The head maid trusts no one except Diane, nor does she want to tell anyone that she is Queen Greta, unless she is tainted with holy blood. Isabella now barely meets her requirements.

“When you return to the Spirit Realm and need her help, this will give you a good reason. Telling her now seems a bit strange.”

Diane thought for a moment and said that although he liked Isabella, he was more cautious, after all, the head maid's true identity was a top secret, and revealing it could lead to his death.

"Okay, whatever you say. Is that Mrs. Eve? She's at our door."

The head maid replied that after turning a corner, she could see her own front door under the streetlights, and at the same time, she could see the alluring snake-like woman outside the door.

"Hmm? It really is her. Such a tall snake woman, what's she doing here so late?"

Diane walked forward with a puzzled look on her face.

"Good evening, Mrs. Eve. Is there something you need from me?"

Diane took the initiative to greet her, and Mrs. Eve also noticed Diane and lowered her body.

"I heard you've recovered, so I came to visit you. You've just gotten better, are you going out already? Shouldn't you rest for a few more days?"

Mrs. Eve arrived with the composure and etiquette of a noblewoman. She had specially put on makeup for today, and her delicate and smooth skin, along with her serpentine beauty and eagle-like, wolf-like gaze, made Diane take a few more glances.

"I've fully recovered. I need to find a teacher to learn from, lest I be forcibly absorbed into the spiritual realm."

Diane explained that all those who awaken to spirituality ultimately belong to the spiritual realm. If you don't actively seek it out, the spiritual realm will eventually devour you.

This is also because the common people of this world do not awaken their spirituality. Without the protection of powerful beings, the spiritual realm cannot be considered a good place.

"Going to the Spirit Realm? What do you think?"

Mrs. Eve sized up Diane, whose spirits were indeed quite good. Her nose twitched involuntarily, and a hint of amusement appeared on her face. She seemed to have smelled something on Diane; snakes have a stronger sense of smell than humans.

The head maid could only deduce that Diane and Isabella had slept together, while Mrs. Eve could already smell the environment in which Diane and Isabella had been.

"It felt pretty good to absorb free spiritual energy for the first time. My body felt full and I felt like I had inexhaustible power."

Diane shook hands, still savoring the power of this cultivation, when the head maid pushed open the door to the house.

"You succeeded on your first try? Dean Isabella has a good eye for people. She took you on as an apprentice so early. Normal people can absorb spiritual energy quickly to their limit. It must have taken a lot of time to digest the spiritual energy."

Mrs. Eve's smile was mischievous; she had already figured out why Diane had returned late and subtly teased her.

“That’s right. Concentrating on cultivation and digesting the spiritual energy I absorbed took too much time. I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, Mrs. Eve. You should have sent someone to let me know in advance that you were coming.”

Diane thought of Isabella's two outfits: a blazer has its advantages, and a robe has its advantages—one is alluring, and the other is convenient to pull off.

"What if you're hiding from me when I send someone? I haven't been waiting that long, I just arrived."

Mrs. Eve spoke with a resentful tone, mentioning that Diane might be avoiding her, and a hint of grievance appeared on the femme fatale's cold face.

"Why would I hide from you? Please come inside!"

Diane extended her hand in an invitation, and Mrs. Eve swam into the house with her snake tail. She habitually swam to the living room sofa and took over the long sofa by herself.

"Master, what a huge snake..."

Hearing the noise, the little maid ran out, and upon seeing Eve's appearance, she was so frightened that she quickly burrowed into Diane's arms. "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, she won't eat people..."

Touching the little maid's blue hair, was she still afraid of snakes? Considering there were sea snakes in the ocean, Diane wasn't surprised.

"This is the mermaid you and Bridget captured. She has good potential and may produce excellent offspring in the future."

Eve laughed when she saw the little mermaid trembling with fear. The little mermaid looked quite cute, and she wagged her tail as she commented.

"I have no intention of making her my future lover. I just want the girl to grow up healthy and well. I'll teach her some manners and how to conduct herself. When she grows up, she can decide for herself whether to stay or leave. After all, she has already paid my tuition!"

Diane pinched the little girl's round, chubby cheeks. He wasn't a lolicon; perhaps he would become interested when the little maid grew up, but whether she would become an enemy was up to fate.

"The mermaid's treasure? The whole empire is buzzing with news, it's even sparked a mermaid craze, but unfortunately not every mermaid has a treasure."

The story of how Diane obtained the little mermaid could be turned into a fairy tale: a kind mortal saved the mermaid and ultimately received her reward, becoming an extraordinary nobleman.

"Hmm, this little girl's mother might be an angel, which is why she has the secret treasure. I brought some rose cakes from the City of Blood, Mrs. Eve, please have a taste."

Diane placed the gift box she had been carrying on the coffee table, disassembled the table, and the head maid brought over a plate and distributed the cookies to the cutlery.

The little mermaid was quick-witted and grabbed the cake, taking a big bite. She was probably really hungry. Diane had also thought of this, so she brought some snacks from the Crimson City.

"I'm sorry, the little girl just arrived home and doesn't know the rules yet!"

Diane tugged at the little mermaid sheepishly. The little maid's mouth was already stuffed with biscuits, and she was making whimpering noises.

"It's alright. Is it a specialty of the Crimson City? It tastes good, with the spirit of the Thorn Rose. Dean Isabella really dotes on you."

Eve gracefully picked up the rose cake and took small bites, a stark contrast to the little mermaid's ravenous eating.

"I am her disciple, so it is normal for a teacher to love her disciple. This was originally prepared for me because she was afraid that I would not be able to absorb the wandering spiritual energy. Now it can only be eaten as a snack."

Isabella's kindness to Diane was palpable to Diane; she went to great lengths to show her love and care, giving her money, gifts, and even people in return, truly treating Diane like her own daughter.

Why not say she was a lover? Because even lovers might not be so generous and attentive. Otherwise, why would Diane feel that she was being taken care of by the head maid's true identity?

“Disciples can’t enjoy such good things. You’ve been to her castle. Those blood slaves are her disciples. Do you think they can have the same treatment as you? She probably doesn’t just treat you as a disciple.”

The elegant lady leaned languidly against the sofa, her semi-circular shape reclining, seemingly bottomless. Her gorgeous lace dress accentuated her slender waist, creating a stunningly beautiful scene.

"We were lovers, as you know. When Teacher Isabella announced it in public, I was envied by many people. I even heard a lot of male nobles cursing me."

Diane touched her cheek, pushed the cutlery handed to her by the head maid, shook her head to indicate that the head maid should eat first. The head maid must be hungry after waiting for him all day. Diane was not sure if the head maid would not eat because she had been waiting for him all day.

"A person who doesn't attract envy is mediocre. I won Dean Isabella's favor through my own abilities. What do they have to be jealous of? What makes me jealous is whether Lord Anne is going to become the Marquis of Sarella?"

Watching the interaction between Diane and the head maid, Mrs. Eve asked with a smile, her gaze suddenly turning serious from casual.

"This is not my idea, and neither does Teacher Isabella."

Diane directly denied it, saying that it used to exist, but it doesn't anymore.

"Really? They're in love. Lord Ann fills the void left by Duke Ryan's absence. He even saved Dean Isabella and her son. It's only natural that he would become Dean Isabella's husband."

The woman ate the rose cake in small bites, without a single crumb falling; her movements were simple, elegant, and full of beauty.

"I really have no such plans. I don't intend to marry Teacher Isabella; it wouldn't be good for her reputation."

Listening to Mrs. Eve recount her original plan, Diane found it somewhat amusing. The enormous profits she had previously made her disregard for reputation, but now she could use it as an excuse.

"That's good. Our Pefi family is no less powerful than Sarella's, and we have the backing of the church. I hope you will consider this carefully."

The beautiful woman visibly breathed a sigh of relief. She knew how huge Isabella's advantage was now. If Diane chose Isabella, she would have no chance of winning unless she had to fight in person.

So she preferred to wait and wait for news from Diane. If she didn't act soon, and Diane really chose Isabella, then her planned battle with Bridget would be meaningless.

"Sorry, I'm not considering the Pepper family either. I already have someone in mind!"

Diane shook her head. If it were a stock market, the Peppe family would be a dead stock by now, about to be delisted.

"Is this Miss Bridget? Have you decided to choose the royal family?"

Mrs. Eve maintained her smile, but Diane could see the strain in it. She hadn't lost yet; there was still a chance; she could still make a move.

"No, but it's somewhat related. I'm choosing the Queen, and Her Majesty is about to choose a royal consort. I want to give it a try."

Diane didn't keep Mrs. Eve in suspense and went straight to the point: this news was no secret to these nobles.

"Queen? Are you kidding me? You're a stranger, wanting to marry the Queen of Tudor? How could any Tudor man agree to that!"

Mrs. Eve could no longer maintain her composure, but she was clearly much more relaxed than before. She felt that Diane was dreaming, or rather, having an unrealistic daydream, and that she had worried for nothing.

"Do we need their consent? Her Majesty the Queen will simply win the marriage selection!"

Diane knew it would be difficult, but he was already confident of victory. Mrs. Eve was a good person, and Diane wasn't a scumbag. He didn't want to keep delaying her and their daughter.

"You? You want to win Her Majesty's marriage selection? Have so many women liked you and given you the illusion? Never mind, once your unrealistic fantasies are shattered, the doors of the Peffi family will always be open for you."

Mrs. Eve wanted to mock Diane, but considering that he was her future son-in-law, she held back and even gave Diane a safety net.

"I won't lose, I... I definitely won't lose, tell Miss Lotina not to waste any more time!"

Diane wanted to explain, but felt it was inappropriate; she couldn't very well say that she had slept with the Queen.

But Mrs. Eve was a shrewd woman. From Diane's words and her ambiguous remarks, a guess quickly came to mind.

"Wait a minute, have you had some kind of relationship with Her Majesty the Queen?"

Mrs. Eve raised her hand in shock and pointed at Diane. Diane's expression told Mrs. Eve everything without her having to answer.

"No, I'm just confident I'll win!"

Diane's guilty attempt to cover it up left Mrs. Eve speechless.

She suddenly realized she had lost all her money.
