Warhammer 40: Starting as a Rogue Trader

Chapter 297 The Experimental Subjects of the Riot

Chapter 297 The Experimental Subjects of the Riot
Apart from the sounds of artillery fire coming from the Comoros city, Gabriel could only hear the reports from his chapter members and the roar of various alien mechanical creations inside the factory.

"Jonah, have your psychic abilities detected any enemies nearby?"

Gabriel looked at the chief think tank next to him.

Psychic power surged from Jonah's body and spread outwards.

However, the expected strong backlash did not occur at such an important poison factory.

Just as Gabriel was wondering why such an important facility was undefended, and even wondered if Adalard had provided incorrect information.

Jonah opened his eyes again and looked down at the feet of the crowd.

"Great Master! There are many life signals beneath our feet!"

"Many?! Are they enemies?"

"There are tens of thousands of them! But none of these creatures have moved. This might not be information relayed by enemy forces through psionic energy, and these signals might not even originate from the same species. What should we do?!"

"No matter what's down there, we have to go down and take a look. This is our only clue right now. We have plenty of manpower, and even if it's the enemy's army, they are our target anyway!"

Sure enough, after searching the ground more carefully, they found a hidden passage.

Faced with this unknown space,

A ten-man squad clad in Terminator armor and a Blood Raven squad carrying Storm Shields were the first to rush in, but after a short wait, no sounds of battle were heard.

After confirming that there were no enemies inside, Gabriel led the other chapter members in one by one.

Although no enemies were encountered, the rows of neatly arranged transparent life-support cultivation pods revealed that various mutated creatures from different races were imprisoned within them.

A rough count revealed that tens of thousands of incubation pods were placed in the vast underground space.

Gabriel walked slowly past the nearby incubation chambers. As Blood Ravens who dig graves and explore everywhere, their knowledge of Xenomorphs far surpasses that of regular warbands.

Their frequent collaborations with the Mechanical Order and the Inquisition also made them aware of many aliens recorded in secret files.

Gabriel even recognized some of the creatures as extremely dangerous alien species.

Many of them had caused horrific massacres in parts of the Empire's world.

"Heraf... Krut... Tyren... Pain Demon."

Gabriel spoke of many species he knew.

However, these races have already deviated from their original forms, and organs and biological characteristics that do not belong to them have appeared on their bodies in a mutated way.

Sharp needles pierced their bodies, extracting various substances from them.

These substances are things that these species use to strengthen themselves or to inflict pain on their enemies.

These substances were fused together by some unknown instrument into a special liquid and flowed through pipes to a certain part of the laboratory.

The massive pipelines all lead to the deepest part of the factory.

"Great Master, what is the Demon of Pain?"

Jonah also came to Gabriel's side, and he was surprised to sense a spiritual energy emanating from the creature called the Pain Demon.

As far as he knew, psionic powers were forbidden in Comoros! Of course, that was only relatively speaking.

“I once saw this creature while carrying out a mission for the Inquisition… This horrible creature is something that even we, the Mechanicus, and the Inquisitors are powerless against.”

They have extremely high resistance to physical damage, as well as to psionic energy.

Their existence defies the laws of physics; any human who gets close to them, even Astartes themselves, will experience extreme pain, gradually losing their minds or being driven insane.

Gabriel seemed to be still a little shaken when he said those words.

Jonah rarely saw Gabriel use such a tone to describe the enemy, clearly indicating that this alien creature had left a deep psychological scar on the Imperials who participated in that operation.

"Regardless, these aliens have modified these creatures and are using their flesh to create various poisons and combat agents." This matches the information provided by Adalard! The destination of these liquids must be related to the STC we're looking for!

"Great Master! What should we do now? Should we destroy these blasphemous creations?"

"Be careful. I don't know what other aliens are here. I'm worried that destroying these incubation pods will release these creatures. Just how many races have these Dark Eldar collected from all over the galaxy over the years..."

"I understand. I will make sure everyone tries their best not to damage these incubation chambers."

However, Gabriel's ideas were wonderful, but reality always tends to develop in ways that he didn't want to see.

An unusual mechanical sound echoed within the underground space.

Gabriel suddenly discovered that the liquid that was originally being pumped deeper into the factory was starting to flow back, and the color of the liquid was also changing.

A dark liquid began to flow into these culture chambers, contaminating the nutrient solution inside.

More fluid was injected into the aliens' bodies through tubes inserted into their bodies.

These previously motionless, seemingly anesthetized alien bodies immediately began to twitch, and their tightly closed eyes suddenly opened.

The numerous aliens inside the incubation chamber began to struggle incessantly, as if trying to break free from the chamber's constraints.

The aliens, having regained consciousness, all looked at the Blood Ravens present.

Each alien was incredibly violent due to the prolonged torture it had endured.

Gabriel immediately began to retreat. He realized that it wasn't that there were no Dark Eldar here; these imprisoned aliens were a counterattack against their invasion.

Some of the aliens had regained their mobility and tore off the tubes from their bodies, pounding their way into the glass walls of the incubation chamber.

Dense cracks appeared immediately, and it was foreseeable that these aliens would be completely freed from their restraints in a short while.

"Gather all companies! Those Eldar are injecting some unknown potion into these creatures! Focus fire! Destroy these petri dishes, destroy those pipes!"

Upon seeing this, Gabriel ordered his men to open fire without hesitation!
Countless explosive shells shot into the incubation chamber in front of them, while the assault cannon in Fearless's hand began to roar.

The power punch slammed directly into the pipes on the wall, preventing more combat agents from being injected into the aliens' bodies.

A large number of spent shell casings piled up at the feet of the Blood Ravens.

One by one, the incubation chambers exploded under the storm of metal.

One by one, the alien bodies turned into a pile of mangled limbs on the ground; Blood Raven's movements were arguably quite fast.

In the first instance, a large number of aliens that hadn't even had a chance to act were killed, but the combat serum that the Dark Eldar injected into these aliens was not the kind of mass-produced drug supplied to ordinary Conspiracy warriors.

These special drugs granted these aliens strength and vitality far exceeding their original limits. Completely devoid of the sense of pain, they would continue to attack as long as they were alive. These combat drugs had completely robbed them of their reason.

Under the influence of their hallucinations, the blood crows have become the culprits tormenting them.

More aliens broke free of their restraints and pounced on the Blood Ravens present.

A flying alien pounced on a Blood Raven as if it had teleported, its sharp teeth and terrifying bite force piercing through the power armor. After tearing apart the Blood Raven's throat, it transformed into the Blood Raven's appearance.

His powerful punches could send a Blood Raven flying several meters.

Fortunately, such powerful aliens are only a minority.

The alien that Gabriel called the Torment Demon also broke free of its restraints.

Even though the alien didn't die when faced with such concentrated fire, as the Pain Demon approached, the Blood Ravens suddenly felt a sharp pain in their brains.

The body, which had no fixed form and was constantly changing, rushed straight at Gabriel, who activated the Furnace Breaker and sent it flying.

Gabriel, who had successfully hit his target, still looked grave. He knew the alien wouldn't die so easily.
