Warhammer 40: Starting as a Rogue Trader

Chapter 175 Using the resources of the Blood Actors to lay their own eggs

Chapter 175 Using the resources of the Blood Actors to lay their own eggs
Karusin's fleet sped through the net tunnels.

As the Mourning Memories passed through a hidden net tunnel gate.

They finally arrived at the dark city of Comoros.

Karushin looked at the vast, boundless network city before him.

No matter how many times I come here, I am still amazed.

Before the Eldar Empire fell, this was an important hub city for the Eldar.

Its history is so ancient that it cannot be traced back.

It was anchored in this region using unknown and incredibly advanced technology.

Its location cannot even be defined by space or dimension.

However, it accommodates countless Dark Eldar living here, and countless lives are consumed here every moment. Resources from all over the galaxy constantly flow into this city and sustain it.

Countless faintly glowing net-like entrances and exits are scattered throughout the Comoros, stretching from one end of the galaxy to the other, sometimes only a few steps apart.

If the Emperor had occupied Comoros back then, he wouldn't have needed to develop the Webway Project; he could have simply taken advantage of what was already there.

However, the dark Eldar who were transformed from the Eldar nobles also mastered a lot of the technology from the Eldar Empire era.

No one knows exactly how big the Comoros is; some even say that if you start falling from the top, you might never reach the bottom of the Comoros before you die.

The Empire successfully invaded and launched surprise attacks on Comoros on a few occasions, but it always left immediately after achieving its tactical objectives.

The Salamanders were once a member of that group, and that operation was the largest human invasion of the Comoros, although it caused considerable casualties to the Comorian rulers.

But this whole affair was a conspiracy by these dark Eldar to eliminate their rivals and seize power. It was Viktor, the current ruler of Comoros and the mastermind behind the Black Heart Conspiracy, who deliberately let them in.

Otherwise, even getting in would be an extremely difficult task.

Thousands upon thousands of warships entered and left the Comoros with their spiked bone sails.

Above the Comoros, multiple dying and decaying stars continue to emit light and energy.

They provide the Comoros with light and endless energy.

Stars shouldn't exist in the Web of Space; they were moved directly from the real universe into the Comoros by the Dark Eldar.

When a star in the sky goes out, the Comoros fleet will abduct another star from a star system, and all life in that system will perish due to the loss of its star.

Karushin gazed longingly at everything before him, especially the Comoros's spire district; he so wished he could have a place there.

"This is the taste of freedom... What's the point of life if you just suppress your desires all the time!"

The Mourning Memory also began to descend towards the trading port in Comoros.

Various anti-gravity facilities support this trading port as it floats in the void.

Karusin disembarked from the warship and arrived at the port with his spoils of war.

The slaves were being escorted off the warship.

The acquired supplies were then transported off the warship.

Just as Karusin had expected... the SCV did not attract any attention from the merchants here.

"These monkeys have such primitive technology, and you still want to use them to exchange for resources? Karusin, you're a regular here, and now you're trying to fool me with this? Those so-called combat suits have some value, but most of them are damaged and useless!"

Karusin knew the other party was clearly trying to lower the price!

"I still have quite a few slaves! These monkey soldiers are very strong! They're worth a lot of money, and I believe the audience would love to see them in the arena!"

The slave traders approached the surviving humans.

He looked at the seriously injured Burns.

Burns also lost the ability to move due to his serious injuries, but he survived thanks to the deliberate treatment of the pirates, including Karusin.

The slave trader saw the hatred in Burns' eyes, which pleased him. "Very good, Karusin, you've brought some decent goods. These monkeys weren't scared to death. You know, normal monkeys wouldn't even dare to resist in the great Comoros."

The monkey you brought had an expression in its eyes that suggested it wanted to kill me!

Not bad, maybe we can actually sell them to the arena for a good price. Humans, being such emotional beings, yield a considerable amount of soul power when they're slaughtered! It's a pity... these monkeys are quite badly injured..."

The slave trader said sarcastically.

"Don't even think about lowering my price! You know they only need a little treatment!"

"Alright, this time I'll accept your slaves."

Karusin quickly reached an agreement with the slave traders.

Also being sold in the package were a large amount of supplies and the SCV.

Meanwhile, Karushin carried the insect eggs alone to the lower levels of the Comoros.

The Bloodlings' near-infinite lifespan makes them far more patient than other Dark Eldar.

These flesh-and-blood masters also have a very different concept of wealth than ordinary dark Eldar.

While ordinary slaves were necessary alchemical materials for them, the rarer materials were their true wealth.

It's not necessarily about how powerful the original owner of the flesh and blood material was; the less common and rarer it is, the more precious it is in the eyes of these Blood Spirits.

Therefore, many of the Dark Eldar in Comoros know that these Flesh Masters constantly post bounties, and any rare material could potentially be exchanged for a valuable enhancement opportunity and a favor—something that could save a life.

The alien insect eggs, something that had never appeared in this world before, clearly met the Bloodlings' requirements.
-
Meanwhile, inside the Flesh and Blood Opera, Chief Disintegration Master Tevantias was studying the insect eggs before him.

When he obtained the genetic sequence of the insect eggs, he discovered that they were actually homologous to the alien insect corpses that the clown had provided to him!

This immediately caught his attention.

"It's fascinating that such a tiny insect egg contains such a vast and diverse range of gene sequences."

The body has its limits in terms of genetic endurance, and enhancement is not endless, but these insect eggs seem to have broken through this limit.

Tevantias looked at the few Zerg he had modified in the cage. He had captured Tyranids before, but the Tyranids cloned using his biotechnology were still difficult to tame. They could serve as beasts in the arena, but they could not become his soldiers.

These alien insects, however, can obey his commands.

However, Tevantias was unaware of the system's existence, and he didn't know that the Zerg obeying his commands was merely Kerrigan's command.

While Tevantias was studying the eggs, Kerrigan sensed his movements.

"Father, they are trying to hatch insect eggs!"

When Gao Yi saw the other person's appearance through Kerrigan's perception, he didn't expect that the other person was the Bloodlust from the Merchant Ronin game that he had defeated in the end.

Suddenly, Gao Yi had a peculiar idea.

"Kerrigan, hatch the eggs!"

"Huh? Father, why do you do this? Worker bees have no power to resist. Once they hatch, they can be easily killed. I can't just send an egg directly through the swarm network."

“Listen to me, Kerrigan! Perhaps we don’t need to grow our Zerg swarm in secret as originally planned. Since they already think they can control the Zerg with their technology, let’s just show them how powerful the Zerg are. We don’t need to hatch Nydus Worms or Leviathans with warp capabilities.”

Simply hatch combat Zerg, allowing them to witness the Zerg's power as a biological weapon and its ability to expand.

Given the nature of these Bloodbringers, if they dared to confront the Tyranids, they would do the same with the Zerg. If they felt they could control a new race that balanced combat and agriculture, wouldn't they willingly provide the Zerg with the necessary resources?

Kerrigan immediately understood Gao Yi's thoughts.

The Bloodlings would even proactively perform biological modifications on the Zerg to give them greater combat power.

Once the Zerg swarm grows large enough, Kerrigan can even directly control the Zerg to turn against her on the spot!

Gao Yi didn't believe that the Bloodling could see the highest level of authority granted to Kerrigan and himself by the system!
Gao Yi plans to use the resources of the Blood Actors to lay his own eggs!
