Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest, the Exiled Immortal Under the Cherry Blossom Tree
Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest, the Exiled Immortal Under the Cherry Blossom Tree
"No! Where are you taking Gin?"
Tang Hao screamed while holding the child below, but received no response.
Qian Xunji's face looked grim. He turned to look at the disabled Tang Hao, snorted coldly, and left with the Spirit Hall personnel.
And the other side.
Ah Yin and the young man in white quickly walked out from the other end of the bronze door.
This is a cherry blossom forest. Pink petals fall like rain, and the air is filled with a faint floral fragrance. However, this beautiful scene is also subtly shrouded in a sense of solemnity, as if each petal carries a sharp blade.
Ah Yin's body trembled slightly. As a hundred thousand year old soul beast, her sixth sense has always been very strong. This place clearly... revealed murderous intent.
She raised her head and looked at the young man in white standing not far away, her eyes full of vigilance and confusion.
"Who are you? Why did you save me?" Yin's voice was soft, but with a hint of determination.
The young man in white had his back to her, gently playing the jade flute in his hand, as if admiring the beauty of the cherry blossom forest. He slowly turned around, his deep eyes gleaming with a faint light like stars.
"Me?" He chuckled softly, his voice flowing like a clear spring, with a hint of laziness and indifference, "You can call me the Exiled Immortal."
"Exiled Immortal?" Ah Yin frowned slightly. She had never heard of this name.
The exiled immortal nodded gently, his gaze fixed on Ah Yin, as if he were examining a precious treasure. His eyes held neither greed nor malice, but instead carried an irresistible sense of oppression.
"I have been in this world for twelve years." The exiled immortal spoke slowly, his voice calm and distant. "In my previous life, I once set foot on the immortal path and was as famous as Huang. We fought side by side, but ultimately I died in that great battle, and the world was stained with blood..."
The exiled immortal's voice was deep and distant, as if he was recalling a long-forgotten past. His gaze passed through Ah Yin, as if he saw that distant past, and a complex emotion flashed in his eyes.
Ah Yin listened quietly, her heart agitated. Although she didn't know who the "Huang" the exiled immortal was referring to, she could sense the horror and tragedy of that great war from his tone.
"Being able to be reborn in this life... perhaps this is his method..."
The exiled immortal's voice gradually calmed down, and his gaze returned to Ah Yin. "In this life, I have returned to the path of immortality. Drawing on my past life's experience, I have already cultivated the rudiments of immortal energy. However, to truly cultivate the first strand of immortal energy, I still need to nourish myself with the essence and blood of all living things."
Ah Yin's heart tightened when she heard this. She vaguely guessed why the exiled immortal had saved her, and her face turned pale in an instant.
"You...you are after my blood and essence?" Ah Yin's voice trembled slightly, his eyes full of disbelief.
The exiled immortal smiled faintly and did not deny it. His eyes remained calm, as if he was talking about something very ordinary.
"The Blue Silver Emperor is a hundred thousand years old, with rich life essence and blood, and it is endless. For me, it is indeed an attractive gift." The exiled immortal's voice was still indifferent, as if he was talking about an insignificant matter.
Ah Yin's heart sank to the bottom. She had thought the exiled immortal had saved her out of kindness, but she hadn't expected that she was merely a "gift" in his eyes. Her body trembled slightly, and a flicker of determination flashed in her eyes.
"No, I still have a husband and children, I won't give up like this!"
Ah Yin's voice was firm and cold, and a faint blue light began to emanate from her body. Strands of blue silver grass broke through the ground and coiled around the exiled immortal.
However, the exiled immortal just shook his head slightly, slowly raised the jade flute in his hand and placed it to his lips.
"It's just survival of the fittest." His voice was filled with a hint of sigh.
A melodious flute rang out, and the murderous aura in the cherry blossom forest erupted instantly. Countless cherry blossom petals flew like sharp blades, instantly severing Ah Yin's blue silver grass. Ah Yin's expression suddenly changed, as she felt an irresistible force suppressing her soul power.
"Is this... the way to immortality?!" There was a hint of despair in Yin's voice.
The exiled immortal's figure was enveloped by cherry blossoms, as if merging with the world. His flute music grew increasingly rapid, and the murderous aura in the cherry blossom forest grew stronger. Ah Yin's body was bound by an invisible force, unable to move an inch.
"Your life essence and blood will be the key for me to cultivate my first immortal energy." The exiled immortal's voice echoed in the cherry blossom forest with a hint of indifference.
A tear flashed in Ah Yin's eyes. She knew she was powerless to resist. However, just as she was about to give up, Tang Hao's figure and their newborn child suddenly appeared in her mind.
"No... I can't die!" A strong desire to survive suddenly surged in Yin's heart.
A dazzling blue light burst out from her body, and strands of blue silver grass broke out of the ground again, trying to break free from the constraints of the killing formation.
The exiled immortal frowned slightly, as if slightly surprised by Yin's resistance. The sound of his flute suddenly changed, and the murderous aura in the cherry blossom forest instantly condensed into a massive sword energy, slashing towards Yin.
"It's over." The Exiled Immortal's voice was calm and indifferent. As his sword energy descended, Ah Yin's body was instantly engulfed in an endless aura of killing. Her Blue Silver Grass shattered beneath the sword's energy, its lifeblood forcibly drained, transforming into strands of blue light that merged into the Exiled Immortal's body.
Ah Yin's figure gradually faded, eventually transforming into a weak blue silver grass seedling, lying quietly on the ground. Her breath was so weak that it seemed as if it would dissipate at any moment, but a trace of tenacious vitality allowed her to barely survive.
The exiled immortal looked down at the seedling, a complicated look flashing in his eyes.
He did not attack again, but waved his hand gently, and the surrounding cherry blossom petals slowly fell, gently covering the seedling.
"Since you can still survive, then stay here." The exiled immortal's voice was still calm, as if all this had nothing to do with him.
He turned and left, his figure gradually disappearing into the depths of the cherry blossom forest.
In the cherry blossom forest, only the weak blue silver grass seedling remained, swaying gently in the wind.
……
The exiled immortal appeared before an ancient formation. A faint aura of immortality lingered in the center, as if awaiting his return.
He sat cross-legged, forming seals with his hands. The Blue Silver Emperor's blood essence in his body began to flow slowly, transforming into blue rays of light that merged into his meridians. (Not fusion, but rather absorption of energy.)
"The blood essence of the 100,000-year-old Blue Silver Emperor is indeed extraordinary." The exiled immortal whispered to himself, with a hint of satisfaction in his eyes.
He closed his eyes and began to circulate the embryonic form of immortal energy in his body, refining the essence and blood of the Blue Silver Emperor bit by bit.
Time slowly passed, and the figure of the exiled immortal was enveloped in a layer of light blue light. His aura gradually became deeper and more powerful, as if it had merged with the world.
Six years passed in a blink of an eye.
One day, the formation within the cherry blossom forest suddenly erupted with a dazzling light. The exiled immortal slowly emerged from the light, his aura drastically different from six years ago, as if he had been reborn.
In his hand, he held a faint aura of immortal energy. The aura was like a swimming dragon, coiling around his fingertips and emitting endless pressure.
"The first wield of immortal energy has finally been cultivated." The exiled immortal's voice was filled with a hint of joy. His gaze passed through the cherry blossom forest, as if he saw a distant future.
He looked down at the fairy energy in his hand, and the corners of his mouth rose slightly.
"I have finally taken the first step on the path to immortality."
The figure of the exiled immortal slowly disappeared in the cherry blossom forest, leaving behind only the weak blue silver grass seedling, still swaying gently in the wind.
For six years, Ah Yin's seedling grew tenaciously in the cherry blossom forest. Although most of her lifeblood had been drained, that tenacious vitality gradually allowed her to recover. The leaves of her blue silver grass became even more azure, and the roots penetrated deeply into the soil.
She knew she couldn't give up yet. Her husband, Tang Hao, and their child were still waiting for her.
"Brother Hao, children... I will definitely come back to you." Yin's voice echoed softly in the cherry blossom forest, carrying a hint of determination and hope.
Outside the cherry blossom forest, the figure of the exiled immortal has disappeared into the distance.
……
PS: The protagonist is a banished immortal who does not cultivate soul power but only immortal energy (which he looks down upon).
The limit of fairy energy is set to three.
The first immortal energy: close to the combat power of the Ultimate Douluo.
The second immortal energy: combat power close to the God King level.
The third immortal energy: Ignite your own body! Destroy the God King with a single thought!
This book has been written for over a month, and I've seen a lot of negative reviews and criticism of the settings, so I'm going to turn around and explain in this chapter:
The Exiled Immortal in this book is a reincarnated, recultivating character, without their original realm. They simply cultivate the three strands of immortal energy used to ignite the divine fire as their source of power. Some readers have asked why immortal energy is so easy to cultivate. My point is, after all, they were immortal kings in their previous lives. Isn't their understanding of immortal energy thorough enough? Furthermore, if they cultivate immortal energy like in the original novel, they'd need to go from Dou Shi (Douluo Dalu) to Dou Shi (Douluo Dalu) to cultivate just one strand... Some readers have also complained about a reduction in combat power. Is it possible not to reduce it? You all say that Douluo Dalu is at the Half-Step Blood-Moving Realm, so a Douluo fanfiction about the Exiled Immortal simply wouldn't work.
Also, why are there plots like Ning Rongrong, Gu Yuena, and Qian Renxue in the later chapters? I didn't think about including the heroine at the beginning, and hinted that it was a witch. Readers then made many comments asking to include this and that. I also tried to lay the groundwork for the relationship between the characters as the plot progressed, but I couldn't write much about love with the character of the exiled immortal, so I ended the dialogue hastily.
If you have other questions, please leave a comment and I won’t waste words.
