Chapter 567 Ground Resistance Army [Request for recommendation votes and continued reading]

"Speak, what is your purpose in coming to Earth?"
If you are willing to help us defeat the mechanical lifeforms and reclaim Earth.

Any request is negotiable.

"Alright, alright," Chen Hong said somewhat boredly. "You've been fighting each other for over 5000 years with no progress whatsoever. It's really boring, and it's time to end this."

The commander's eyes finally changed, showing some doubt and some apprehension, as if he had touched on some taboo.

"Alright then, I'll end this endless war."

It's time for the Earth to return to peace.

Whether they are androids or mechanical life forms, they should all look forward.

How can you gaze at the stars and the sea if you're always trapped in internal strife?

Ignoring the commander's expression, Chen Hong turned and walked into the distance.

The commander looked at 2B and issued his orders.

"2B, follow him."

"Guide him to cooperate with our Yoroi unit."

"At the very least, we cannot side with the mechanical lifeforms."

"Report to me immediately if anything happens."

“I understand.” 2B nodded slightly.

Chen Hong walked down the street, surrounded by the crumbling ruins of tall buildings.

The remains of modern human-built structures are covered with green vines and moss.

The paved streets were overgrown with yellow-green weeds.

The surrounding trees grow haphazardly, without any order, lacking the neat rows of trees that protect roads; instead, it feels like being in a wild forest.

Several small birds perched on the branches, chirping and chattering.

Countless shops along the commercial street collapsed, their cement turning into mud.

Only some of the steel bars still showed signs of rust, inserted horizontally and vertically.

Chen Hong sighed as he watched:
"No matter how glorious and prosperous a civilization is, after it collapses, the traces it leaves behind will be slowly washed away by nature."

The steel jungle will eventually decay and perish.

Only green life can thrive and multiply, allowing the earth to be dyed its own color once again.

Reproduction, proliferation, repair, reincarnation, iteration...

Life goes on and on.

"What can resist the entropy increase of time is not the order of civilization, but the reproduction of life?"

"Human glory will live on forever!" 2B, who was standing next to him, insisted stubbornly.

Chen Hong smiled but didn't say anything more.

Instead, he walked deeper into the ruined city, recounting some information he had found in the base's database.

"In 5012 AD, aliens suddenly invaded Earth, and they created an army called 'mechanical lifeforms'."

Faced with the overwhelming power of the aliens, humanity fled to the moon.

In 5204 AD, humanity established twelve bases in Earth's orbit and conducted more than a dozen airborne operations, but failed to eliminate the ever-growing number of mechanical life forms.

In order to reclaim Earth, humanity established a fighting resistance organization composed of "androids".

The battle became a stalemate when faced with mechanical lifeforms capable of infinite reproduction.

In order to break the stalemate on the battlefield, humanity designed the "YoYa" combat unit—the latest and most advanced android warrior.

On a barren, desolate, and uninhabited Earth, mechanical lifeforms and android warriors waged a great war.

The long and endless battle has left the moon battered and broken, and the space base station reduced to a single bunker.

"2B, don't you find that strange?"

"With the sheer number of mechanical lifeforms on Earth, their resources, and their technology, they could completely wipe out even a tiny bunker in space."

They might even develop a space army to wipe out the humans on the far side of the moon.

If enough resources are collected from the major planets, it might even be possible to build celestial-level destructive weapons that could completely destroy the moon.

Why has mechanical lifeforms maintained a balance of power with androids for thousands of years?

This war was always lukewarm, yet endlessly protracted, exhausting and costing the lives of countless soldiers.

"Hey, 2B, tell me, why is that?"

2B paused for a moment, then calmly replied:
"The thoughts of mechanical life forms are unpredictable."

"Besides, androids aren't as weak as you think."

"As a soldier, you only need to obey orders and carry out missions. Unnecessary thinking will only lead to destruction." "Oh? Is that so?" Chen Hong glanced at 2B meaningfully.

"Do not move!"

Suddenly, a group of people emerged from the bushes, pointing their dark gun barrels at 2B and Chen Hong.

"Oh, it seems we've arrived."

Chen Hong smiled as he looked at the men and women around him who were carrying guns.

"This is……"

"Ground resistance forces?"

2B seemed to recognize these people.

These people seemed to recognize 2B's identity based on her distinctive attire.

"YoYoHa Unit?"

"Has the Human Council finally responded to our plea and sent elite combat troops to support us?"

"Are we about to end this endless war?"

Is peace on the horizon?

"Is the Human Council really that kind?"

"Didn't they use us as cannon fodder before, endlessly consuming mechanical lifeforms?"

"Shut up!"

"The glory of mankind will live on forever!"

"loyalty!"

"loyalty!"

"loyalty!"

"Don't say discouraging things!"

The resistance fighters whispered amongst themselves. Their leader, Anne Morning, frowned and shouted:
"Quiet!"

The crowd quieted down, stopped talking, and looked at 2B and Chen Hong with complex and unfathomable emotions.

"Come with me."

Anne Morning brought 2B and Chen Hong to the resistance's headquarters.

This place is similar to a village, where many soldiers who survived the resistance front are engaged in various professions.

2B arrived at the entrance of a prop shop. After helping the disabled shop owner collect the materials and exchange them for props, 2B asked the owner in confusion:

"Why don't you replace that crippled leg so you can stand up again?"

The boss chuckled and replied, "Over the long years, almost all the parts of me have been replaced."

Although this left foot is broken, if even this last part is replaced, I will be completely different from my original self.

So, am I still me?

Or is it simply a completely new being that inherits past memories?

2B seemed lost in thought and fell silent.

"The Ship of Theseus?" Chen Hong walked over. "The androids are starting to think about philosophical questions now."

Before 2B could think, leader Annie Morning walked over and said:

"Recently, there have been more and more special beings among mechanical life forms."

They behave strangely and can even speak human language.

I am very worried that something terrible might happen to the mechanical lifeforms, which could lead to another brutal war.

"So, could you please go and investigate in the desert?"

"It's my duty." 2B agreed without hesitation.

Chen Hong had no choice but to go to the desert with 2B to investigate the situation.

In the distance, I could see several tall buildings. After passing through the gate, I saw an open space surrounded by several tall buildings.

"What is this place?"

2B looked around curiously.
