Chapter 449 Strategic Bomber Project, Houses Next to the Forbidden City

October 1, 1994, Beijing, Tiananmen Square.

"Get up, you don't want to do it."

Wang Yifei and the other children were singing the national anthem loudly, their expressions solemn, their eyes following the rising of the national flag.

Today is National Day, and Wang Duoyu brought the children here to participate in this flag-raising ceremony.

There's no National Day Golden Week yet, but yesterday was Friday, so after school, Wang Duoyu and his family came to Beijing.

Wang Yifei, who hadn't left the house for a month, was the happiest.

So she's happy to participate in any event, no matter what it is.

After the flag-raising ceremony ended, it was fully light.

"Let's go have breakfast."

Liu Xiaoli took the children and left Tiananmen Square. After Wang Duoyu had breakfast with them, they went to Wenjin Street.

As soon as Wang Duoyu entered the office, he sensed that something was wrong.

"Leader, what's going on?"

Upon hearing this, Lu Genrong shook his head slightly.

Some things can be said, and some things cannot be said.

Besides the awkward atmosphere, Wang Duoyu also noticed that one of his leaders was missing.

He could figure out the specifics with a little thought.

It's really all about interests.

In the summer, he was forced to travel to Zurich to attend a conference.

It wasn't Lu Genrong who made the request; it was someone else.

That person is not here now.

There's a high probability that something bad has happened.

Wang Duoyu is not only a world-renowned mathematics professor, but also the head of the Want Want Group.

The outside world may not know just how rich the Want Want Group is, but people like Lu Genrong certainly have a general idea.

Over the years, especially since 1990, Want Want Group's annual profit has never been less than 10 billion US dollars.

This is pure profit!

Lu Genrong and his group were aware of these things, so it's understandable that some people had ulterior motives.

However, the leaders above have such foresight and courage.

So before Wang Duoyu even noticed, the matter had already been dealt with.

If Want Want Group, this vast business empire, loses its leader, Wang Duoyu, it will be in serious trouble.

It may not be long before it falls apart.

Putting everything else aside, Zheng Baoyin and Wang Jianchao might never return to China.

The super dollar factory controlled by Want Want Group will also be dismantled by the senior management.

Fortunately, none of this happened.

Wang Duoyu cherished his life very much and naturally wouldn't let himself go to meet the King of Hell so easily.

Even Lu Genrong and the others didn't know beforehand that Wang Duoyu had already slipped away in Zurich. They only realized it when he appeared at the mouth of the Pearl River.

Therefore, aside from the preparations made by Lu Genrong and his team, Wang Duoyu's "golden cicada shedding its shell" plan was the real stroke of genius in their trip to Zurich.

Yuan Zuliang and his men obeyed his orders directly and did not leak the information to outsiders.

After all, Yuan Zuliang and his men had been following Wang Duoyu since the early 1980s, and after 1984, they completely obeyed only his orders.

Almost like a private bodyguard!

"Alright, let's not talk about that anymore. Let's discuss the preparations for the strategic bomber project!"

Wang Duoyu smiled slightly, completely unaffected by the incident.

"The information we've gathered isn't comprehensive yet, but there's absolutely no problem in starting preparations."

"However, there are two huge problems to consider now: first, where will the funding come from, and second, where will we allocate technicians, engineers, and other experts?"

Before Lu Genrong could speak, Nong Tingqiu, a leader sitting opposite Wang Duoyu, spoke up:

"Professor Wang, we can solve the talent problem. The Third Front Plan has been completely completed, and many people have retired from it."

The Third Front Plan?

This program started in the early 1960s and ended in the 1980s.

It's already 1994. Even the engineers who supported the Third Front construction back then have either retired or are no longer able to work.

Thirty years have passed. Do you really think you're still young?

Nong Tingqiu did not explain Wang Duoyu's confusion.

It's normal to keep something to yourself.

Just like the underground nuclear Great Wall of yesteryear, and many other secret underground military bases, few people know about them.

In his previous life, Wang Duoyu visited the base built by Taipei 101 in northern Guangdong. At that time, it had been completely declassified, and you could visit it by buying a ticket.

The base entrance itself is hidden deep in the mountains and cannot be seen from the sky.

There should be quite a few similar bases across the 9.6 million square kilometers of land.

"If I remember correctly, even during the Third Front Plan, there weren't many people with expertise in aircraft manufacturing, were there?"

Nong Tingqiu was not surprised to hear this.

"Professor Wang, you're right. Back then, many retired engineers were indeed taken away by Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, Xi'an Aircraft Industry Group, and other companies. But now that we need to start the strategic bomber project, we can only draw personnel from these institutions."

The Third Front Plan focused on defense science and technology industries, concentrating on transportation, coal, electricity, steel, and non-ferrous metal industries as the foundation, and machinery, electronics, and chemical industries as the leading sectors, in order to establish a relatively complete industrial system.

Aviation professionals are mainly concentrated in Sichuan, the Guanzhong Plain, and the remote mountains of Southwest China.

One word: scattered.

Two words: Complete!

After the Third Front construction ended, many talents were trained, including a considerable number of technical personnel in the field of aviation.

Twelve years ago, when Wang Duoyu spearheaded the Mach 5 fighter jet project, many talents in this field were recruited.

Mentoring new talent is a traditional skill of ours. After the Mach 5 fighter jet project, we went through several other projects, such as the J-10.

The most important thing is still the Nantianmen Project.

However, the requirements for talent in the Nantianmen Project are much stricter, and ordinary people really can't get in. Even college graduates with bachelor's degrees have a hard time joining the project.

The Nantianmen project is progressing slowly and relies heavily on Wang Duoyu's side.

Because he owns the Want Want Group, he can recruit experts from Moscow to work for him and solve many key technical problems in the research and development process.

The strategic bomber project is different; there is indeed a severe shortage of personnel, yet the project has no choice but to be launched.

Therefore, personnel could only be drawn from projects such as the Third Front Plan, and professional and technical personnel trained by universities such as Harbin Institute of Technology, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and National University of Defense Technology were also needed to join the plan.

Only in this way can a closed loop be formed, allowing the plan to be successfully implemented.

The talent issue is relatively easy to resolve; the funding issue is the most pressing concern right now.

It is obvious that leaders such as Lu Genrong, Nong Tingqiu, and Leng Zhenzu are also having a great headache.

They either have to take a small portion of their income each year as a routine measure, or they have to seek support from entrepreneurs like Wang Duoyu.

"Duoyu, here's what we're thinking about regarding the funding issue."

Lu Genrong slowly opened his mouth:
"The initial R&D investment was around 5 billion yuan, and the government plans to continue investing 1 billion yuan over the next five years to advance some of the technologies in this project."

"If our research yields results, then we will apply them to the existing H-6 bomber project."

Five billion yuan?
And there's also an investment plan that's spread over five years?

Although Wang Duoyu was well aware that developing strategic bombers was a very difficult task in China, the funding issue was still suffocating.

The core technologies of strategic bombers include key areas such as power systems, stealth design, avionics systems, and weapon systems.

The most difficult aspect to overcome is the power system.

Take the NK32 engine of the Russian Tu-160 as an example. This is not just a machine, but its lifeline.

The Tu-160 made its maiden flight in 1981, which was thirteen years ago.

Just how impressive is the technology behind this engine?

Wang Duoyu has a very deep understanding of the NK32 engine, based on the information he saw in his previous life and the information he learned from Moscow in this life.

The NK32 is a three-rotor, low-bypass-ratio turbofan engine with an afterburner.

What is a three-rotor?
It contains three rotors: high pressure, medium pressure, and low pressure, each doing its own job to make the airflow compression and expansion more precise.

As a result, compared with the conventional dual rotor, the three rotor is more efficient and has a stronger thrust, but the design and manufacturing difficulty is doubled.

Our country's researchers also have this design concept, but unfortunately our technology is not up to par, especially our industrial base is not good enough, so even if we manage to design it, we can't build it.

In this current timeline, thanks to Wang Duoyu, the industrial strength of Ice City has increased several times compared to the original timeline.

However, he dared not make any guarantees regarding the production and development of strategic bombers.

After all, in the previous years, he had recruited technical engineers, aerodynamics experts, and aerospace design researchers from Moscow, but none of them had participated in the research and development or production of the NK32 engine.

Why?

Because Gorbachev and Yeltsin were keeping a close watch on him, he had absolutely no chance.

The core components of the NK32 engine are made of high-temperature resistant alloys and single-crystal blades.

What are single-crystal blades?
It is a material that can remain rigid under high temperature and high pressure. During manufacturing, crystal growth must be controlled to ensure that there are no flaws whatsoever.

Otherwise, if the turbine blades deform due to high temperatures, the test will definitely be ruined.

After all, it's important to understand that the NK32 turbine blades can withstand temperatures of over 2000 degrees Celsius, allowing the aircraft to remain as stable as a rock even when flying at high speeds.

Therefore, Moscow set up a special production line at that time, and workers had to work in a cleanroom, handling every single leaf with care.

In addition, the afterburner is another killer feature of the NK32.

By injecting extra fuel, it can instantly maximize thrust, enabling the Tu-160 bomber to reach speeds of Mach 2.05.

When the Tu-160 made its maiden flight, the aircraft shot off with flames coming from its tail, making quite a loud and exciting noise.

Each NK32 has a thrust of 25 tons, and there are four in total, which together provide a thrust of 100 tons. The Tu-160 has a maximum takeoff weight of 275 tons, a service ceiling of 21,000 meters, and a range of 12,300 kilometers (unarmed) or 16,000 kilometers (armed).

At the time, the most advanced strategic bomber in the United States was the B-1B, which used four General Electric GE102 engines, each with a thrust of 14 tons, for a total thrust of 56 tons, a speed of Mach 1.25, and a range of 12,000 kilometers.

Therefore, the thrust of the NK32 is far superior to that of the General Electric GE102, which explains why the Tu-160 became the most fearsome bomber of the 1980s.

The B-2 Spirit bomber also uses a general-purpose engine, with a rated static thrust of 8618 kg per engine, which is nowhere near comparable to the Tu-160.

Of course, the B-2 Spirit bomber's awesomeness lies in its stealth capabilities, not in its thrust or other features.

Another reason why Wang Duoyu was so envious of the NK32 engine was that it not only had strong thrust, but also excellent fuel economy.

The aerodynamic layout optimization is excellent, the combustion system is highly efficient, the thrust is large and the fuel is economical, allowing the Tu-160 to fly halfway around the world, and the design life is 3000 hours, which is simply terrifying.

Unfortunately, Yeltsin and his men are very protective of the Tu-160, and Wang Duoyu still has no chance to obtain it.

Matthew Barron and his team transported parts from a strategic bomber from Moscow, and that bomber was the Tu-22 Backfire strategic bomber that we wanted to buy back then.

We put a lot of effort into intercepting it back then, and we even almost imported American F-16 fighter jets. Our J-8II fighter jet, a paragon of peace, was also upgraded because of it.

Throughout the 1980s, we tried to shoot down the Tu-22, but we failed.

After entering the 1990s, we wanted to import the Tu-22 strategic bomber for reverse engineering.

At the time, both Gorbachev and Yeltsin were thinking about retiring the Tu-22 as soon as possible to reduce their burden, so selling the Tu-22 to make money to improve their daily lives was acceptable.

However, Yeltsin and his team considered that Russia needed to maintain its advantage for more than ten years. At that time, the Tu-22 had been discontinued, and the NK-25 engine that it was paired with had also been discontinued.

The only models available for sale are the older ones, and they must be extensively modified to be compatible with our weapons, communications, and control systems.

As a result, our procurement costs are very high.

On the other hand, a few years ago, another seller, Ukraine, under the influence of the United States, had already crippled itself by destroying all of its strategic bombers, including the Tu-22.

Who wouldn't be furious if they heard about this?

This is equivalent to the lifeline of a nation, and these spendthrifts in Ukraine actually destroyed strategic bombers?
This is also the main reason why Matthew Barron and his team were able to successfully disassemble the Tu-22 strategic bomber into parts and transport them back to Ice City.

We are currently in negotiations with Russia to purchase Tu-22 strategic bombers.

Although all the parts of the Tu-22 strategic bomber had been secretly brought back to Harbin, Wang Duoyu did not disclose this to the public.

Even Lu Genrong and his team didn't know about this, since those were aircraft parts, and non-professionals wouldn't know what those parts were.

The customs ground staff, of course, had no idea.

The situation is that simple: Wang Duoyu wants to secretly modify the Tu-22 strategic bomber, but as mentioned earlier, it needs a major overhaul!
This also takes time, and also requires a lot of talent and financial investment.

On the other hand, he also wanted to obtain the Tu-160 bomber, but Russia kept a close eye on it, and outsiders had absolutely no chance.

Otherwise, Matthew Barron and his ilk, having spent so many years in Moscow, should have found their opportunity long ago.

Especially in the past few years, when the Moscow nobility was at their most greedy and crazy, they sold everything except for a few very important items like the Tu-160, which they couldn't sell.

"Okay, boss, let's do it your way."

After thinking for a long time, Wang Duoyu nodded and said.

Leng Zhenzu, Lu Genrong, and Nong Tingqiu were stunned. What was going on?
In the past, if they had said that, Wang Duoyu would have been eager to provide funds. But now?

Could it be that these leaders have disappointed Wang Duoyu?

They were reflecting, but Wang Duoyu continued:
"Over five years, we gradually developed the relevant technical data. The B-2 Spirit bomber is still very powerful; it's the US's biggest lifeline, and it's at least twenty years ahead of us."

"Although we don't have much relevant technical information now, we're not completely ignorant. Even if we can't fully develop it, we can still find the weaknesses of the B-2 Spirit bomber and make improvements accordingly."

"On the other hand, we now possess the Dragon Roar stealth fighter jet, and in a few years, we can deploy it directly to bases across the country. If the Americans dare to send their B-2 Spirit bombers over then, we'll shoot them down."

"Well, when I get back, I still need to make sure Harbin Institute of Technology makes thorough improvements to the radar technology for the B-2 Spirit bomber. They absolutely must be able to develop such a reconnaissance device."

Lu Genrong and the others looked at each other in bewilderment.

Everyone could tell that Wang Duoyu seemed to have his own ideas. He probably didn't have many options and was also unwilling to waste money on the domestically produced strategic bomber project.

Ugh!
Difficult!

Wang Duoyu wasn't a mind reader, so of course he didn't know what the leaders were thinking.

After discussing for a while, Wang Duoyu got up and left the Wenjin Street office compound.

His main purpose for coming to the capital has been settled. Since that's the case, he can relax for a day or two before heading back home.

That evening, as Wang Duoyu lay on the large bed in the master bedroom of the main house at No. 87 Zhongguancun West Street, holding Liu Xiaoli in his arms, he suddenly said:

"Xiaoli, now that the children are growing up, shouldn't we prepare some assets for them?"

There are five children in the family.

Wang Junhong is not Liu Xiaoli's biological son, but Zhu Ling's.

Zhu Ling is still drifting around in the entertainment industry. Even though she has played leading roles, they are mainly female educated youth, and she doesn't have any scenes involving kissing.

This wasn't Wang Duoyu's request, but Zhu Ling's own request. It's unclear whether she had other feelings for Wang Duoyu.

Regardless of all that, it's highly likely that Zhu Ling won't be able to offer Wang Junhong any help.

On the other hand, Wang Junhong is now developing in the direction of R&D personnel, so his future funding needs should not be very large.

Even so, Wang Duoyu must have prepared ample funds and a substantial financial foundation for him.

Liu Xiaoli has four biological children. The eldest is Wang Jun'an, who is ten years old this year, and the youngest is Bai Doufu, who is not yet one year old.

So she was very surprised when Wang Duoyu suddenly asked her that question:

"Duoyu, why are you suddenly asking this? Is something wrong?"

"Xiaoli, don't overthink it. I'm just taking precautions. As our ancestors said, 'He who does not plan for the future will have trouble in the present.'"

Wang Duoyu said with a smile:

"Now that the children are growing up, although we don't yet know which child will inherit the Want Want Group's fortune, parents are planning ahead."

"After the success of the Beijing Profound Institute, housing prices in Beijing are now changing every day."

"You probably don't feel these changes, and you might not usually pay much attention to them, but you can see it from the vegetable prices."

"Prices have risen rapidly in recent years, and it's almost certain that money will become less valuable in the future."

"I said I wanted to acquire assets for the children, that is, investments, such as courtyard houses in Beijing."

"Although we often stay in Harbin, we also travel around a lot."

"When the children grow up, they might not necessarily live with us, and you don't want any conflicts between you and your mother-in-law, do you?" "Anyway, this is something we need to think about carefully."

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoli finally breathed a sigh of relief.

If nothing's wrong, that's naturally the best outcome.

Being with him often made her quite worried; if something really happened to him one day, her world would collapse.

Take that time in August when Wang Duoyu went abroad, for example. She was worried about him every day, and couldn't sleep at all.

"Wait a minute, Duoyu, I remember you bought a courtyard house in Beijing before. I even asked you why you bought all this junk."

Suddenly, as if she remembered something, she asked in surprise.

"Hehe, how come your memory has suddenly become so good?"

Wang Duoyu said:
"I did buy some courtyard houses, but many of them have already been demolished and converted into commercial buildings."

"What I want to invest in now is assets that will provide for the children."

"This morning we watched the flag-raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square, and since we got up so early, I was thinking, why don't we buy a few courtyard houses nearby?"

"We'll renovate it a bit, and around National Day each year, we'll bring the kids here to watch the flag-raising ceremony. Afterwards, we can walk straight home to sleep."

If you're buying a courtyard house near the Forbidden City, it's practically the same price as a house near the first ring road.

If you were standing on the roof, you could probably see the flag-raising ceremony.

Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaoli's eyes lit up immediately.

Putting everything else aside, the courtyard houses next to the Forbidden City are indeed very attractive.

As for the price, Liu Xiaoli never worried about that issue, because Wang Duoyu was very rich. In fact, he himself couldn't even calculate how much money he had, since the money was increasing every second.

The couple started talking about buying a house and got more and more excited.

But as time went on, Liu Xiaoli also got sleepy. After all, she had left home at 3 a.m. to watch the flag-raising ceremony this morning, so she didn't know when she finally fell asleep.

The next day, Wang Yifei and her friends' plan to climb the Great Wall was canceled, and they went to look at houses instead.

The children were very happy in the house next to the Forbidden City.

Wang Duoyu and his family spent a day shopping at the Forbidden City, looking at both sides of the palace grounds. In the end, they didn't choose a place because they still needed to negotiate the price with the landlord. They left this matter to the professionals, and Wang Duoyu naturally didn't need to get involved.

It's good if others are willing to sell, but it's okay if they're not.

He's not one to force a sale; he's all about spontaneity.

The two-day holiday passed quickly. Around 6 p.m. on the 2nd, the family appeared at Beijing Airport and boarded a plane back to Harbin.

After returning to Harbin, Wang Duoyu contacted Zheng Baoyin.

"Baoyin, could you ask Matthew Barron and his team how they're doing with their efforts to win over the Moscow nobles? It's been several years; even ice cubes would have warmed up by now, right?"

The purpose of this call was, of course, to purchase technical data or equipment related to the Tu-160.

Wang Duoyu is willing to pay for anything related to Figure 160.

"Uncle, I've been following up on this matter, but I'm afraid I'll have to disappoint you; it's too difficult!"

Zheng Baoyin said helplessly.

He was well aware of how important the Tu-160 strategic bomber was to our country, but Russia wasn't a dead man, so how could we let them succeed so easily?

As his understanding of the world deepened, he realized more and more that some things cannot be obtained by simply stealing them.

If they could, why wouldn't the Americans just take it?

After all, when it comes to financial resources, aren't the Americans much richer?

"Alright, you can urge them again yourself."

Wang Duoyu said:

"By the way, what's the situation in the US right now? What are the specifics of those mercenary groups' operations?"

Upon hearing this, Zheng Baoyin immediately felt wide awake.

This matter needs to be traced back a few days.

The days around October 1st were anything but peaceful in the United States.

First, there was Black Bear Corporation, which dispatched five teams to carry out missions in Kansas.

Boeing's local factory suffered unprecedented damage, with bombs found in several workshops.

A deafening roar was heard, and the workshop was in an accident.

Although the Black Bear Company's mercenaries did not take away any technical data, the equipment, technical data, and R&D personnel they destroyed were unacceptable to Boeing.

Based on the task completion rate, Paula Rosen uploaded the data, ultimately earning Black Bear Company 20 million US dollars.

Of course, there was no extra income.

Even so, after receiving the final payment, Black Bear Company executive Zol Lloyd immediately applied for other tasks from Paula Rossen.

Because of the task of paying the final payment so readily, Zol Lloyd had become extremely greedy and wanted to make a few more money.

So after Paula Rosen applied to Yabo Fein, he called Zor and asked him to arrange for someone to go to Seattle.

Since we've already destroyed everything, let's just set off some fireworks at Boeing's civilian assembly plant as well.

It would be a good thing if Boeing suffered a greater loss.

Black Bear Company readily agreed and sped off to Seattle.

Meanwhile, Grumman Corporation in California was also attacked.

Nelson led the entire Eye of Sauron to California to carry out a mission.

Grumman Corporation had been attacked before, so its defenses were even more stringent. It was simply impossible for Nelson and Yang Zhixiong to infiltrate Grumman Corporation unnoticed.

After some discussion, they decided to use two strategies to carry out this mission: feinting to the east while attacking in the west and luring the tiger away from the mountain.

Yang Zhixiong was their strategist for the Eye of Sauron, and the plans he proposed were supplemented by everyone else.

Only then can a relatively complete and reliable strategy be formed.

So they proceeded according to the plan.

Grumman was first attacked in the north, but those were all drone-dropped bombs.

Due to the heavy casualties, the personnel stationed at the other gates were transferred to the North Gate.

After confirming that Grumman had fallen into their trap, Nelson and his team finally had the opportunity to enter through the south gate.

However, things didn't go so smoothly, because Grumman not only had voice-activated alarm technology, but also multiple protective measures such as video surveillance and weight sensing technology.

Nelson and his team, who were unprepared, suffered from a lack of technical skills and were completely caught off guard.

They were discovered before they even got close to the workshop. How could they possibly launch an attack?
Paula Rossum's description of the 20 million mission looks simple, but in reality, it is extremely difficult.

After all, Grumman is no pushover.

A piercing alarm sounded, and a large number of soldiers appeared like a tide.

Nelson and his men simply stopped pretending, picked up their submachine guns, and began scanning the area.

Such arrogant behavior aroused strong anger among Grumman's senior management.

The outcome of this round will depend on who has the stronger firepower.

The Eye of Sauron and his men had made preparations in advance, but their weapons and equipment were ultimately limited, and they also needed to evacuate, so they had to plan everything carefully, otherwise they would really perish here.

Under the cover of fire, they quickly advanced to the vicinity of a workshop, whereupon they immediately launched small pineapples and then set up rocket launchers.

Although it was no different from a tickle, it still caused some losses to Grumman.

However, this loss is interesting; Paula Rossum and her team probably won't pay much.

"Bomb it! Throw all the bombs out!"

"Nelson shouted, speaking urgently."

This is indeed a very urgent situation.

If they don't complete their mission and leave immediately, they'll all perish here.

The entire Eye of Sauron team worked in perfect coordination and, under the cover of fire, began planting C4 bombs.

Boom!

The huge explosion blasted open the workshop door, and half of the mercenaries entered the workshop.

In an instant, all the equipment and technical documents in the workshop were destroyed.

However, there weren't many R&D personnel, and they had already left in advance, so nothing happened.

"Fuck, who gave you permission to burn these technical documents? Take them all with you."

When Nelson saw the shredded paper scattered all over the floor, he suddenly became furious.

Paula Rossen stated that if technical information could be obtained, different rewards would be given depending on the specific technology.

Moreover, as long as the technical data is brought back, the $20 million mission reward will be paid in full.

Therefore, it doesn't matter whether other equipment is damaged.

On the contrary, being able to bring the technical data back is more important.

Yang Zhixiong remained silent, sensing that this was somewhat risky.

"Boss, let's get out of here as soon as possible, or we're really going to die here."

So far, they have lost eight mercenaries and twelve others have been injured, a considerable loss.

Therefore, we really cannot wait any longer, otherwise, we might really be wiped out.

Because it doesn't take much time to get from the North Gate to the South Gate.

Hearing Yang Zhixiong's advice, Nelson was very unwilling, but there was nothing he could do.

At this point, only Yang Zhixiong could persuade Nelson; no one else could.

So they took the technical data of the workshop and quickly evacuated.

Two armed helicopters appeared overhead, and everyone's expression changed drastically.

One of the mercenaries immediately set up a rocket launcher, quickly aimed, and fired a shell.

Before the helicopter could react, the shell struck it with a long trail of flame.

"Get out of the way!"

The pilot was incredibly brave; even as he was dying, he tried his best to steer the helicopter toward Nelson and his team before it crashed.

Unfortunately, once a helicopter goes out of control, it's not so easy to get it back in order.

It flew erratically and soon landed in another workshop next door.

The helicopter exploded shortly after the collision.

The most dangerous thing is that something else in the workshop seems to have been detonated.

This caused a huge mushroom cloud to rise from it, and a deafening roar exploded in everyone's ears.

Good heavens, this is really going to be a disaster.

Nelson and the others turned pale, but the mercenaries, being experienced and worldly, quickly regained their composure and made a swift retreat.

If we don't evacuate now, we'll really have no chance left.

The support helicopters were the vanguard; although one was shot down, there was still another one left.

Since the Black Hawk Down incident in Somalia last year, helicopter crashes in the United States seem to have become commonplace.

The same applies this time.

Yang Zhixiong and his team decisively left Grumman Corporation, and immediately after their withdrawal, they found the equipment they had previously stored in a hidden corner.

The mortars were aimed at the helicopter in the distance.

The pilot didn't see the mortar, but he did see the shells.

His expression changed drastically, and he quickly pulled the lever, eager to leave this awful place.

The results backfired.

After dodging seven or eight shells, he was still hit on the tail of the helicopter when the ninth shell came.

That's terrible, their combat power instantly dropped to zero.

The armed combat personnel on board the helicopter clung to it, but the helicopter was already teetering on the brink of collapse and soon crashed to the ground.

Everyone had no choice but to jump out of the plane to survive.

"Haha, let's see how you arrest us now?"

Nelson laughed arrogantly, then turned and disappeared into the darkness with the other mercenaries.

However, what they didn't know was that just before they left, the Dragon Fang team had also secretly infiltrated from the other side of Grumman Corporation.

The Dragon Fang Squad has very few members, only eighteen.

They dared not fight alongside the Eye of Sauron, so they had no choice but to resort to this desperate measure and take advantage of the situation.

At this moment, it is also a matter of great personal risk. Whether it is a chance to make a profit or to die, nothing is certain.

But if they didn't take advantage of this opportunity to sneak in, they certainly wouldn't even get a sip of soup.

Compared to the Eye of Sauron, the Dragonfang Squad is full of experts.

This is a steal!

Because most of the soldiers' attention is now drawn to the Eye of Sauron.

Many soldiers have even left Grumman to pursue the mercenary organization, the Eye of Sauron.

On the contrary, no one paid attention to the Dragon Fang Squad.

"Don't go this way. There are gravity sensors under these ceramic tiles. Our data isn't recorded here, and going in recklessly will trigger an alarm."

Despite having only eighteen mercenaries, every member of the Dragon Fang Squad is incredibly skilled.

You could say that the Dragon Fang Squad is a streamlined version of the Arctic Fox Mercenary Group, but its combat power is no less than that of the latter.

The Americans are really something else. For decades, they fought with Moscow and developed a lot of cutting-edge technologies.

Facial recognition technology appeared as early as the 1960s, and by the 1990s, military research institutes had perfected it to a very high standard.

In the original timeline, Apple only started using facial recognition technology on its phones after 2010, but in reality, the military had been using this technology for a long time.

The same goes for gravity sensing technology, and there are many other advanced technologies that most people only heard about after 2010, but the Americans had already been using them on a small scale in the military in the 1990s.

It is true that human potential is often forced out under high pressure.

Since the polar bears fell, the Americans since the millennium have been living off their past achievements.

Because there's no pressure, and looking at the world, there's no one who can compete with them, so naturally they won't be as diligent in research and development. Instead, they'll be more interested in making money.

"it is good!"

With a small number of people, everyone is very cohesive and works together as one. No one has much selfishness and everyone is focused on working hard and earning money.

After evading the gravity sensor, the Dragon Fang team continued forward.

"Huh? This is the engine production workshop? Are all these technical drawings?"

Upon entering the workshop, two of the Dragon Fang team's pilots, who could fly fighter jets, bombers, and helicopters, immediately began looking at the blueprints on the table.

Due to the Eye of Sauron, the technical engineers and R&D personnel in the workshop were quickly evacuated, leaving the technical documents on the table uncollected.

Therefore, the pilots of the Dragon Fang Squad quickly saw the information and began to pack it up with great joy.

If they take these technical documents, they are guaranteed a reward of at least 20 million US dollars, plus additional related bonuses.

Wang Duoyu went to great lengths to acquire the technology related to strategic bombers, investing heavily in the process.

From the Eye of Sauron to the Dragonfang Squad, from the Arctic Fox Mercenary Group to the Black Bear Company, they have flourished all over North America.

Gold mines, military enterprises, and high-ranking officials were all subjected to fierce attacks by mercenary organizations.

They wanted to steal technical data, take the gold, and eliminate some of their high-ranking officials.

With multiple fronts launched, Wang Duoyu only had to pay money, and the source of these funds was impossible to trace because they were given in cash.

After this wave, Wang Duoyu believed that the intelligence bureau, security bureau, investigation bureau, and other major agencies would probably be running around like headless chickens.

Furthermore, the Federal Reserve will certainly demand a thorough investigation, at which point they will have neither the time nor the energy to investigate cases of massive dollar laundering, such as those involving movie box office revenue.

After all, these organizations have very limited staff, so they can only focus on the big picture and let go of the small details.

In this way, the Super Dollar factory can hide even deeper without affecting the 'sales' of Super Dollar.

Of course, this is not a long-term solution, nor is there any long-term solution; we can only take it one step at a time. (End of Chapter)
