Chapter 717 Conversation with Odin
Chapter 717 Conversation with Odin
Yang Le looked around. The throne room in Asgard was no different from before he left. After all, he had been away for less than a day. Even if Asgard had the ability to do this, they would not do it.
There was a sound of a door being pushed open behind him. Yang Le turned around and saw Odin coming in. He was alone and even Queen Frigga was not with him.
"Sorry for the long wait, kid." Odin nodded to Yang Le. "I'm sorry, please forgive me, an old man with unsteady legs. I was the one who informed Heimdall to let you in, and I made you wait for a while."
Just ten minutes ago, when Heimdall was still hesitating whether to let Yang Le, the uncertain factor, in, Odin informed the latter in his head to let Yang Le in.
Although he had some concerns in his heart, Heimdall still had to obey the orders of the God King, so he did not hesitate to move aside and let Yang Le in.
"It's okay, I just got here too." Yang Le waved his hand to show that he didn't care. Just based on the fact that Odin could let Heimdall let him in, he understood that Odin definitely knew what he was bringing with him.
What Yang Le was carrying was related to the life of Odin's son, and the person who wanted to take his son's life was his own brother. Not to mention others, even Yang Le himself probably needed some time to prepare himself mentally.
Odin said, "I also hope you don't blame Heimdall. He is the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge and the first line of defense for Asgard, so he is very sensitive to certain things."
"Of course." Yang Le nodded again. Responsible people are more likable than irresponsible people. Yang Le would not secretly complain about the way to death in his heart because of such a small matter. That would be pure mental illness.
After explaining to Yang Le, Odin shifted his gaze to the Sky Hammer held in Yang Le's hand. Even at this moment, he couldn't help showing a hint of surprise.
"This is the first time I've seen someone raise a restrained weapon in an inappropriate situation."
Yang Le raised the corner of his mouth, placed the hammer in his hand between him and Odin, stretched himself and said, "To be honest, this is not a simple matter. It took me a lot of effort to pick it up."
"I can imagine," Odin nodded. "After all, it's not as simple as picking up a glass of wine."
"Actually, the steps are similar." Yang Le blinked. "They both reach out and pick it up."
After hearing Yang Le's words, Odin was stunned for a moment, then laughed and shook his head, saying, "That's a good joke. Even an old antique like me finds it funny."
"Okay, time to get down to business." Odin softened his smile. "Child, where did you discover the Skyhammer, and how did you learn of its existence?"
"I was tracking down two mysterious organizations on Earth, and following a few clues, I tracked down the dark elf spies hiding on Earth."
Yang Le told the reason he had thought of long ago. Although Odin knew about things related to the multiverse, his identity as a visitor from the multiverse was indeed a bit embarrassing, even though this universe was created by Yang Le.
If possible, Yang Le still does not want to reveal his identity as the creator, as that would easily create a gap between him and others. Without absolute certainty, Yang Le would not show off in front of others.
When Odin heard about the dark elf spy, he frowned, but he did not interrupt Yang Le's narration. Instead, he did what a listener should do, which was to listen quietly.
"My friends and I used some tricks to pry some information out of the dark elves. We learned that they came to Earth to find the whereabouts of a hammer. We followed these clues and unexpectedly found the whereabouts of the secret organization I had been looking for." Yang Le said this, pointing to the hammer in front of him with his right hand and continued, "I discovered the secret base of that group in Antarctica on Earth. I didn't see a single person there, but I found this hammer in the deepest part of the base."
"Then I raised the hammer with great effort. Just as I was about to lift it, I saw a man."
Odin's only remaining eye shrank suddenly. For the first time, he interrupted Yang Le's narration and asked, "What does that person look like?"
"He wore snake-scale armor and carried a sword with a spiral hilt at his waist," Yang Le said with a solemn expression. "He called himself the Great Serpent God Kul, the source of fear. He told me I wasn't qualified and shouldn't have lifted the hammer, then expelled me from that space."
"When I came to my senses, I returned to the base, but I still raised the hammer because I knew the water was deep here, so I came to find you."
After listening to Yang Le's Xu Shuo, Odin was silent for a long time.
"Alas," Odin sighed. "What's coming will eventually come, even if I delay it for thousands of years."
"Is there any story behind this?" Consultant Yang Lemingzhi.
Odin sighed again, and then told Yang Le the secret history of Asgard that he already knew.
However, Yang Le only knew a rough idea. After all, the origin of fear was an old story. Since he couldn't catch up on comics in the Marvel Universe, it was good enough for him to remember a rough idea. So Odin's narration helped him recall the details.
"According to the prophecy, when my brother Kul returns, he will perish alongside the finest princes of Asgard."
When talking about this, even Odin couldn't help but have tears in his eyes. Killing one's own relatives is simply the most horrific tragedy in the world.
"I really wish Thor wasn't that great, which is why I agreed to that ridiculous agreement with Loki, hoping Loki could slow down his growth. But who could have imagined that this kid would be so capable, becoming the most outstanding crown prince of Asgard in just a few hundred years."
Odin couldn't help but hold his forehead. He might be the only one in the world who felt tired because his children played games too much.
During these thousands of years, Odin felt proud and happy about Thor's growth, but on the other hand, he felt a sense of crisis because of the prophecy that seemed like the sword of Damocles.
This prophecy has tormented him for thousands of years. Now that he really sees the hammer appear in front of him, Odin's mood is so complicated that it is hard to imagine.
"Can't this hammer be destroyed?" Yang Le asked. After all, without the hammer, the big snake would not be able to descend.
"No, child." Odin shook his head. "The Great Serpent's coming is certain. It must happen. His hammer cannot be destroyed before he arrives, not even by me."
