Chapter 694 Hela and Fenrir
Chapter 694 Hela and Fenrir
The man called Tyr turned around and saw a woman he couldn't refuse.
She was a woman wearing a helmet with intricate branches like tree branches. The helmet was also connected to a wide green cloak. However, even with the dark green tight soft armor the woman was wearing, it was estimated that it would not provide any protection against the cold in this snowy land.
"You're joking, my queen." Tyr turned around and knelt on one knee neatly in front of the woman.
"Since I came to Helheim, I have never dreamed again."
"You know that's not what I meant, Tyr." The woman was like a ghost. She had come to the man without him noticing when, and stretched out her slender hand to touch the man's head.
Tyr lowered his head, but a drop of cold sweat appeared on his forehead. The woman had only brushed him lightly, but he felt as if his scalp was about to be peeled off.
"What's wrong, Tyr?" The woman leaned over and whispered to Tyr. "Don't you like my touch?"
"I may not be able to enjoy it." Tyr's beard trembled, and he tried hard to stop his teeth from chattering in pain.
Seeing this, the woman loosened her hand. She only needed to beat Tyr lightly. She still had some use for him, so she couldn't kill him now.
"Since you're not dreaming, then you're homesick." The woman pulled out a handkerchief from somewhere, wiped her hands with it, and threw it aside casually. The handkerchief turned into ashes before it even hit the ground, and disappeared in the thick fog where you couldn't see your hand in front of you.
This is Niflheim, the kingdom of fog second only to Helheim among the nine realms. Jotunheim can only be described as a world of ice and snow, but there are still living creatures. However, there is truly no living creature in Niflheim and Helheim.
And these two places are now all under the command of one person... or rather, God, the woman who made Tyre bow down and surrender.
"Lord Hela."
Hearing someone calling her name, the woman called Hela turned around and saw a tall werewolf standing not far away. Perhaps because he had fur on his body, the werewolf was only wearing a piece of armor and half a breastplate.
"What's wrong, Fenrir?"
The werewolf lowered his head when he heard Hela call his name, and then he spoke slowly.
"I sensed a familiar feeling, a feeling that came from Asgard."
"A familiar feeling?" Hela's curiosity was piqued. "What familiar feeling? Tell me more about Fenrir."
"In fact, I have had this feeling before. My queen once personally dragged the person who gave me this feeling into the underworld of Helm."
After hearing Fenrir's words, Hela immediately understood what he meant and turned to look at Tyr, who was kneeling behind her. He was the unfortunate man who was dragged into hell by Fenrir himself. (Note 1)
After hearing the conversation between the two, Tyr felt a slight pain in his left arm, which had clearly not hurt for a long time. It had been a thousand years, and as an undead, he should not feel pain anymore.
Now, the only one who could inflict pain on him was Hela, Queen of Helheim. This heart-wrenching pain was merely a phantom. "You mean Asgard has welcomed a new god of war?" Hela walked over to Tyr. "No wonder you came to Niflheim alone. I thought you were trying to avoid me."
Hela now understood why Tyr came to Niflheim. On the World Tree, the nine existing realms were indeed arranged in different positions, for example, Helheim and Niflheim were located at the bottom of the World Tree.
However, there is a slight difference in height between the two worlds. Niflheim, as the kingdom of fog, is still slightly higher than Helheim, the underworld, which means that Niflheim is closer to Asgard.
Tyr was originally the God of War of Asgard. Although there was no connection between them anymore, Tyr, as the former God of War, could still sense some changes in the God of War's divinity.
It started not long ago. Although Tyr didn't know how many days it was because he was in the underworld of Helheim, it was definitely not a long time.
At first, Tyr thought he was crazy. After all, he had been in the underworld of Helheim for so long, and this kingdom of the dead was eroding his soul all the time.
But after a period of time, Tyr once again sensed the abnormality of the God of War's godhead, and this feeling became more and more frequent, which made Tyr confirm that this feeling was not false.
Asgard has welcomed a new God of War. For Tyr, the former God of War, this may not be something worth celebrating. After all, who would remember the old when there is a new one?
The tendency to get bored with the old and love the new is not unique to the people of Midgard. The people of Asgard are also happy about new weapons. The biggest worry for the dead is being forgotten.
But Tyr felt happy because the queen he was serving had already begun planning an invasion of Asgard a long time ago, and Tyr played a relatively important role in his plan.
But now Asgard has welcomed a new god of war, which means that Hela's plan has been affected, and it also means that Asgard's power has become stronger. How can Tyr, who always cares about Asgard in his heart, not be happy?
If Tyr was not an undead and could not resist Hela, the Queen of the Underworld, how could he kneel down before his enemy, Asgard's biggest hidden danger?
Tyr decided to keep this secret in his heart. It was not until today that he dared to come to Niflheim to confirm it while Hela was discussing with her allies. After all, the reaction of the God of War today was extremely obvious even in the underworld of Niflheim.
But what Tyr didn't expect was that Fenrir could also feel it. He had no reaction at all in the previous times, but why did he sense it today?
"That's right!" Tyr suddenly realized. The godhead's reaction today was unusually strong, so Fenrir, who had devoured his flesh and blood, should also feel a weak reaction. He actually forgot this.
Perhaps it was because Helheim's erosion of him was too severe that Tyr only remembered this detail now. It was this small flaw that exposed the information that he least wanted Hela to know.
"Even you, in Helm's underworld, can feel this power. There's no reason why Tyr, the former God of War, can't sense it. It seems my general likes to keep some little secrets in his heart~"
Hela deliberately spoke in a very ambiguous tone, but Tyr, who was kneeling on the ground, only felt a biting chill like a cold wind. He was not afraid of Hela's punishment, he was just worried that Hela would change her plan against Asgard.
My wrist hurts so much today, so I'll only update one chapter. Sorry.
Note 1: Tyr did die, but I forgot how, so I combined the story of his hand being bitten off in Norse mythology and attributed the credit for killing him to Fenrir. I know that Tyr died together with the hellhound Garm, but hellhounds and giant wolves are similar, and it would be boring to have too many homogenized characters, so I merged the two canines into one. Anyway, this universe is created by me, so it is normal to have differences with the main universe (laughs).
