Chapter 615 Asgard
Chapter 615 Asgard
A burly man with long golden hair strides forward on the brick-paved ground.
The man was wearing a strange suit of armor. The top, woven from an unknown fabric, perfectly highlighted the man's figure, which looked as if it had been chopped by a knife or an axe. Two pairs of metal discs of slightly different sizes were inlaid on it. The man's top had no sleeves, and his arms were covered with soft iron wire armor made with extremely high skills.
The man's lower body was covered in scale armor that looked like layers of scales. It also looked exquisite, making one wonder whether he was wearing a work of art or a set of battlefield protective gear.
"You're back, Thor!"
"The God of War of Asgard!"
The man seemed like a natural superstar. Wherever he went, people lined the streets to welcome him. Those people were all wearing robes that looked like those in ancient times. Many of them were wearing armor, and it looked as if he was deep in ancient Europe.
The corners of Thor's mouth rose slightly. Even after thousands of times, the cheers of his people would still make him feel excited. Perhaps he was born to do this.
He raised the divine hammer that was always with him, and the crowd burst into even louder cheers. The sound could be heard even in the royal city a thousand meters away.
"Still the same." The burly old man stood on the balcony and looked at Thor, shaking his head as if disappointed, but the pride in his only remaining eye could not be concealed in any way.
But there seemed to be a hint of worry mixed with the pride.
"You were no less impressive when you were young."
A gentle female voice came from behind him. In the whole of Asgard, there was only one person who dared to speak to him like this. The old man knew who was standing behind him without thinking.
"You're here, Frigga." Odin turned around and saw the queen in a simple blue dress standing behind him, just like when they were children.
Frigga responded to her husband with a smile. She was obviously not putting on airs, but everyone could see the grace and elegance in her every smile and frown. This woman seemed like the embodiment of nobility.
"You have something in your heart that I don't know about."
Although he was smiling, Odin felt a sense of threat for no reason. The great god who roamed the nine realms shook his head helplessly.
"Something happened. There's no need to look at me like that, Frigga. I was just about to tell you."
"Really?" Frigga gently covered her mouth with her right hand, looking surprised. "If the wisdom of the Great God hasn't dissipated, I remember you used this reason thousands of years ago. What happened then?"
Even the great god Odin had to bow his head temporarily in front of his beloved and said: "I went to fight with the giants, but it was for you. They said you were just a vase."
"I know." Frigga smiled. "That's why I'm here, isn't it?"
Odin paused, and finally shook his head helplessly, and simply expressed his worries.
"There are some things happening in the atrium that I want Thor to handle."
Frigga did not interrupt. She knew that if it was just a small matter, the great god who ruled the nine realms would not pay attention to it, let alone send his most brave and warlike son to solve it.
Odin has more than one son, Balder, Helder and Vidar. Although these three are not as good as Thor, they all have their own strengths and can stand on their own. Moreover, they all have time. If it is just an ordinary matter, there is no need to call back the busy Thor.
"I sense Tyr's presence," Odin said calmly.
Frigga's pupils shrank sharply, but she quickly recovered. However, the fact that she, a queen who had experienced many ups and downs, could lose her composure, even for a brief moment, was enough to prove the seriousness of the matter. "This is impossible. Tyr is dead."
"Yes, we all know this; it's a universally acknowledged fact." Odin let out a long breath. "But I do sense a tremendous power born of war, a power that originates from Midgard."
"Could it be Ares?" Frigga stepped forward. "Or maybe Athena? There are so many gods of war. Could you have mistaken me?"
"That power comes from the Asgardians, there's no doubt about that. I'm not so old and confused that I can't tell the difference."
Odin shook his head, denying Frigga's guess. Frigga pondered for a moment before continuing, "But Tyr certainly didn't go to the Hall of Valor you established. We searched the Nine Realms but couldn't find his soul. Perhaps he's not dead at all?"
The body is still there, but the soul has disappeared. This is a rare thing for Asgard. After all, playing with the soul of life is an evil thing everywhere.
If it is true as Frigga guessed, that someone dared to play with the soul of the eldest son of the great god Odin, if the people of Asgard knew about this, it would definitely cause public outrage and might even trigger a national war.
Frigga was also angry, but as the Queen of Heaven, she could not instigate Odin to start a national war just for her own selfish desires. At this time, she should remain calm and persuade Odin not to be blinded by anger.
But Odin did not show any anger. He was so calm that he seemed not to be the lion in Frigga's memory.
"The truth of the matter can only be revealed after Thor finds out the truth."
...
"Heimdall!"
A tall man in heavy armor turned around. The horn-shaped helmet on his head was unusually large, and it was unknown whether it would affect his vision.
"It's Thor." Heimdall laughed and turned to walk towards Thor. The two strong men soon hugged each other, and their armor collided with each other, making a clanging sound.
"Aren't you on the front lines maintaining order in the Nine Realms? How do you have time to come and see me, an old man guarding the bridge?"
"My father has assigned me a new mission." Thor smiled, holding up a jar the size of a human head. "Asgard wine. I forgot to bring it last time, so I'll bring it along with the rest this time."
"This thing looks more familiar." Heimdall laughed and quickly snatched the wine jar. Listening to the sound of the wine and the pottery jar colliding, he felt that this was simply the most beautiful music in the world.
"I originally wanted to invite you to use it together, but the God King assigned you a task, so I have no choice but to use it alone."
Looking at Heimdall's triumphant smile, Thor could only shake his head helplessly and laughed.
"Yeah, what a coincidence! It looks like I haven't taken it orally."
Heimdall laughed, then he put away the wine jar and the smile on his face, and spoke to Thor seriously.
"Be careful, Thor. The God King specifically called you back to prove that the other princes are unable to accomplish this. This means that this mission may be very dangerous."
Thor also said seriously: "I know Heimdall, but Asgardians are not afraid of any danger. My hammer can smash all obstacles!"
