Chapter 608 Escape
Chapter 608 Escape
In front of Olaf, a mere sentinel robot is easy to capture. Without Gwen doing anything, the headless sentinel robot under her feet becomes her exclusive bodyguard.
"Sure enough."
Gwen curled her lips slightly under the mask. Robot guards like this usually have their own independent network to prevent anyone from hacking into the robot's network from the outside, causing unpredictable consequences.
Without a network connection, even a shapeshifter couldn't control the Sentinel robot out of thin air, but it was a different story if it came into contact with the network. The result proved that Gwen's speculation was correct.
With just one Sentinel robot, Gwen can rely on Olaf to reverse engineer through the sub-network of a single robot to control the entire Sentinel robot army.
However, such an operation would most likely attract Hyperion. Gwen, who did not want to confront him head-on, was not prepared to make a big news. If she simply wanted to escape, there was no need to go through so much trouble.
It is enough to control only one sentry robot. These robots are only equipped with very simple AI. In order to prevent them from killing each other or firing at ordinary people, Howard wrote down death orders when programming.
That is to say, all their behavior patterns will avoid these two, so the Sentinels controlled by Gwen will attack other Sentinels, but vice versa they will not attack it.
"My summer practical assignments were better than this."
Gwen, who was swinging on the spider web to escape the encirclement, couldn't help but complain that now that the trouble had been solved, it was time to find Katie.
Just now, she and Katie had decided on this strategy. She would act as bait to lure away all the sentry robots, while Katie would wait for an opportunity to escape, and finally the two of them would find a place to reunite.
The first step of the plan has been completed, and we are now moving on to the final step.
Gwen raised her right hand, and Olaf's suit turned into a screen for her in a very humane way. A map was playing on it, and there was a small red dot on the map that was constantly moving.
The little red dot was Katie. Gwen put a tracker on her, which saved a lot of time.
Projecting the map onto the eyepiece, Gwen shot out spider silk and waved at the headless sentinel who was killing everyone in the distance, and said.
"Bye, good boy."
...
Katie, wearing a loose dress and a baseball cap, tried not to make herself look suspicious. She walked on the street as if nothing had happened, only occasionally moving her eyes as if she was curious about the street shops.
Katie was quite fast, except for the time at the beginning when she could run a few steps faster because she was mixed in with the fleeing crowd. But when the crowd quieted down behind her, she had to slow down in order not to arouse suspicion.
Fortunately, everyone had their own things to do, and Gwen made a lot of noise, so no one noticed her, a small and unknown person. In this way, Katie walked out of half a block smoothly.
'Didi! '
Feeling the vibration from the bracelet on her wrist, Katie understood what Gwen meant. This bracelet was given to her. She was told that with it, she would not get lost even if she left a country.
"Hey! Katie!"
Just as Katie was looking around for Gwen, someone called her not far away. She subconsciously looked up and found that the person calling her was Gwen.
The other party didn't look like she had just experienced a battle. Not only that, Gwen was even holding a drink in her hand. She looked refreshed and relaxed, just like an ordinary girl who was waiting to meet a friend and go out to play together.
"G...Gwen?" Katie was stunned. The scene in front of her was completely different from what she imagined. Weren't they still running for life and death just a second ago?
"It's me." Gwen drank the last of the drink in one gulp and threw it into the trash can behind her. "What's wrong? Aren't we going to the mall? Why are you still standing there?"
Perhaps she was tired of waiting, Gwen took two steps forward and put her arm around Katie's right hand, and the two of them set off hand in hand.
"But...you...I..." Katie stammered, not knowing how to start. She was afraid that once she opened her mouth, she would be exposed and everyone on the street would know that they were superhumans on the run.
"Don't worry, it's all taken care of." Gwen said calmly. "It's just a bunch of bad dogs, nothing to be afraid of."
"Then let's..."
"Going to the mall? Didn't I just say that? Are you worried that I'll get hurt? Don't worry, a bunch of Chihuahuas can't hurt me."
Gwen dragged Katie around the mall for half a day, and after lunch, Gwen dragged her to a warehouse.
"What is this place?" Katie looked at the graffiti-covered warehouse with some uneasiness.
It was obvious that this place was where the street guys liked to hang out. There was tasteless graffiti everywhere, and Katie couldn't even tell the original color of the walls.
She didn't even dare to look down, for fear of seeing balloons filled with white liquid or various syringes.
"We took over where we were going to live."
Gwen said in the calmest tone what Katie least wanted to hear, and the latter felt like she was falling into the abyss.
"Do we really have to stay here, Gwen?" Katie's feet seemed to be rooted to the ground, refusing to move even a step. "I can go work. Let's find a cheaper hotel."
"Why would you want to live in such an unsafe place?" Gwen frowned. "I don't want to live in a place where the drawers are full of chewing gum, and the mattresses are definitely filthy."
"Is this all right?" Katie cried in her heart, but she saw that Gwen seemed determined to sleep on the street. She was worried about Gwen and couldn't just turn around and leave her alone. She had no choice but to follow Gwen obediently.
Gwen seemed to be very familiar with this place. She walked to the modified door of the warehouse and pressed a big red button next to the door with ease. The next second, the doorbell rang, which could be described as shrill.
"Beep, beep, beep!"
Katie flinched in fear and looked up at Gwen, who also looked uncomfortable.
"She hasn't changed it yet." Gwen held her forehead weakly, looking exhausted.
"Hello, hello!" After the doorbell rang, a voice came from the access control. Katie couldn't help but frown. Why did this voice look so familiar? It seemed like she had heard it often recently.
"Open the door, it's me, Gwen."
Gwen ignored Katie who was lost in thought behind her and continued communicating with the person on the other end of the access control panel. But when she finished speaking, Katie immediately understood.
Wasn't that Gwen's voice coming from the other side of the gate? Although it was a little messy because of Mike, Katie would never mistake it.
