Chapter 564 Guardians of the Galaxy
Chapter 564 Guardians of the Galaxy
Unconsciously, Gamora's mouth curled up, but the communication request that sounded the next second made her react.
Only after regaining her expressionless look did Gamora answer the call.
"Zizzizi."
Perhaps because a spaceship exploded nearby, the communication device first emitted a brief electric sound before being connected.
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" A familiar voice rang out, and Gamora tried hard not to look at the annoying face of the Earthling on the communication monitor.
"This is Guardians of the Galaxy, beautiful lady it looks like you need some help."
"Fuck you, Quill." Gamora asked Quill to recall his hometown dialect with an expressionless face.
"Wow!" Star-Lord said with a surprised expression. "Is this how you treat your savior? Or do you not like the idea of a hero saving a beautiful woman?"
"To be honest, you don't qualify as a hero, Quill." A burly voice came from outside the screen. It was Drax.
"What?" Star-Lord said, as if he had heard something unbelievable. "I'm not a hero? I've saved the universe several times! Who else in this universe is more qualified to call themselves a hero than me!"
"Fart, Quill." The slightly higher-pitched voice belonged to Rocket. "How many times? I'll tell you with my finger, huh?"
"Save your fingers for messing with your little brother!" Star-Lord said, a little embarrassed. "Remember to put away your claws, or you'll get scars!"
"I'm... Groot." With a dull voice and a unique way of speaking, there was no doubt it was Groot.
"Hey! How can you talk like that, Chopstick Spirit!"
"Well said, kid! I always say that learning should be entertaining. You always learn something beyond my expectations!"
"You're corrupting the kids! I should have just thrown those discs away as space trash."
Star-Lord, his face flushed, argued with Rocket Raccoon off-screen, and finally said with a warning: "Groot, if you say that again, I will chop you into chopsticks and sell you to a Chinese fast food restaurant."
"I think we've strayed from the topic." A gentle voice came from Mantis, who had recently joined them. "Weren't we just discussing Gamora?"
"Right, right, right!" Star-Lord came back to his senses. "It's all Rocket and Groot's fault for changing the subject."
Drax: "I actually changed the subject."
Rocket: "Don't worry about it. Quill's brain can't remember so many things."
Groot: "I'm Groot."
Star-Lord felt that his blood pressure was almost higher than his height. If this argument continued, it would be endless, so it would be better to get to the point quickly.
"Let's get back to the point." Star-Lord coughed lightly and ignored Rocket and the others beside him. "Why did Gamora suddenly sneak away? Aren't we a team?"
Facing Star-Lord's question, Gamora was silent for a while, and then she said: "My father contacted me and asked me to return to him."
"Your father? Thanos?" Star-Lord's eyes widened. "Why did he suddenly remember you?"
"I don't know." Gamora said seriously. "But I think it has something to do with the Infinity Stones."
"That means we can't go back," Star-Lord thought, recalling everything he'd heard about Thanos. "Who knows what inhumane things he'll do? Shouldn't we run away from him now?" "Those are the words of the hero who saved the universe," Rocket interjected.
"That would put us in a passive position." Gamora spoke before Star-Lord got angry. If the latter had spoken first, they would probably have been caught up in the same endless war of words as before.
"If I disobey my father's order to recall me, he will definitely send people to capture me. His orders have always been absolute, and no one can resist them."
"Then fight off the people who come to capture you," Star-Lord said matter-of-factly. "We've defeated many powerful enemies, and we're still afraid of them. You haven't forgotten how we defeated his subordinate Ronan, have you?"
"Ronan wouldn't dare to say a word in front of Thanos," Gamora said. "If his men can't catch me, he'll probably come himself."
"That's perfect," Star-Lord said, leaning back. "My good brother Drax's sword has been thirsty for a long time!"
"Roar!" Drax roared in cooperation.
"We almost didn't even fight Ronan before," Rocket kindly reminded him. "If it weren't for your awful dancing, we would have been buried in the ground long ago."
"If it works, then it's not a bad dance!" Star-Lord rationally ignored the first half of Rocket's sentence, and then impulsively responded to his second half.
"Anyway," Star-Lord brought the topic back on track. "What I mean is, no matter what happens, we should be together. We are a whole. Have you forgotten?"
Star-Lord's words touched Gamora. After a moment of silence, she said, "Quil..."
Hearing Gamora's trembling voice, Star-Lord looked very serious on the surface, but he was actually very proud in his heart, thinking that this little guy is so charming that he will definitely fascinate you.
"You've watched those discs a lot."
"That's not the point!"
After a quarrel, Gamora returned to the Benatar. After re-boarding the ship, Gamora ignored Star-Lord's hug and asked a question.
"How did you find me?" Gamora asked in confusion. She was not on the small spaceship that the Benatar was on, but a new spaceship that had no contact with them. Logically, Star-Lord and others should not be able to find her.
"Rocket installed a locator on this ship," Star-Lord pointed to the Raccoon Man behind him, piloting the Benatar. "He's got his eye on this ship's power system and wants to steal its technology while it's under guard."
"Hey!" Rocket yelled in dissatisfaction. "How can a mechanic's job be considered stealing? I call that studying. Do you understand?"
"Yes, yes, master of entertaining and educational activities." Star-Lord rolled his eyes at Rocket.
Gamora looked at the two of them speechlessly. She felt that she might never be able to escape from the clutches of these people in her lifetime.
She didn't hate it though.
"Okay, where's our destination?" Star-Lord said as he walked towards his own work. "Is your dad hiding on that godforsaken planet waiting for us to beat him up?"
Star-Lord's bold words left everyone present speechless. Gamora also sighed helplessly, then walked towards her seat with her long legs.
"He is now on Earth, which is also your hometown."
"This place is great," Star-Lord said, his lips curled up. "I could go back and take a look. Listen up, guys, we have two goals: one, to beat up Thanos, and two, to go on vacation to Earth. Let's go!"
