Chapter 554: The Four Black Generals
Chapter 554: The Four Black Generals (?)
"The vanguards we sent out haven't responded in a long time."
A figure dressed in a black robe and as thin as a dead tree floated out from the darkness. In front of him was a group of vanguards kneeling on the ground.
"Ever since the army arrived on Earth, it has been unstoppable. This is the first time that so many soldiers have lost contact at once."
A man carrying an exaggeratedly huge battle blade on his shoulder and with most of his body hidden under a dark cloak quietly appeared behind the vanguards. Next to him was a woman with a good figure, holding a spear as tall as a person, with two horns on her head and the upper half of her face blue.
"Boom! Boom!"
Two loud noises were accompanied by earthquake-like tremors. A giant beast with an exaggerated size and covered with scales looked ferociously at the kneeling vanguards.
"What was that group? Ebony Maw." The humanoid carrying the war blade asked the slender figure nonchalantly.
"Superhero, General Corvus Glaive," Ebony Maw replied expressionlessly. "Translated into a language you understand, it's 'superhero'."
"Haha!" Corvus Glaive laughed loudly. "Heroes running for their lives, that's the funniest joke ever, dear."
Dark Night Proxima still had a stern face, but nodded out of courtesy. However, the Black Dwarf next to him let out a few low growls with a hint of laughter.
"No matter what, General Corvus Glaive." Ebony Maw landed lightly on the ground with his toes and waved his hand to let the kneeling vanguard guards retreat.
"Those guys who fled in panic have now devoured an entire Vanguard Army. This is a great shame. I can't imagine what would happen if His Majesty knew about this."
"We've wasted enough time on Earth." Ebony Maw clasped his hands together. "His Majesty has long lost his patience. He's even abandoned us and gone to other parts of the universe to search for the other two gems."
"Perhaps, the reason those heroes were able to destroy a vanguard was because they used gems."
Ebony Maw was eloquent and his casual words stirred the hearts of everyone present. If it was really as the dead branch said, then the person who snatched the gem must be the first hero.
"Interesting." General Corvus Glaive performed a sword trick. The blade made a slight sound as it cut through the air, but it frightened everyone present except Proxima Midnight.
"Tell me where the signal is coming from, and I'll go check it out myself."
General Corvus Glaive said this without looking back, carrying his battle blade and walked towards one of them. Black Dwarf beside him became a little anxious when he saw this, as he also wanted to claim the credit.
"when!"
A long spear smashed into the path that the black dwarf had to take. It was Proxima Centauri, the Dark Night. She held the spear and calmly stared at the tall black dwarf in front of her without a trace of fear.
"Roar!"
The Black Dwarf was enraged and roared as he raised his hand to grab Dark Night Proxima, while the latter clenched the spear in his hand, ready to poke a few holes in the former at any time.
"enough!"
Ebony Maw's voice was not loud, but it was enough to strike the hearts of everyone present, but this was not enough to stop the two generals.
Ebony Maw himself knew that he would not be able to stop the two of them in this way, so he gently separated his palms that were originally clasped in front of his chest. With his movement, Proxima Midnight and Black Dwarf flew backwards several meters.
This was not enough to hurt the two of them, but it was enough to separate them. Taking advantage of this time, Ebony Maw quietly landed between the two and stopped their fight.
"We are all His Majesty's blades. As long as we can get things done, we should be satisfied. Killing each other must never happen." Black Dwarf snorted with disdain, and Dark Night Proxima slammed the spear in her hand heavily on the ground, then turned and left. It seemed that she was going to help her husband, General Corvus Glaive.
"Wait a minute, Proxima Midnight." Ebony Maw suddenly called her, and the latter turned around and waited for the former to speak.
"We've already found some clues about the group of survivors that the Vanguards found last time. I need you to go and see if you can find them. Black Dwarf can't do this kind of work."
"I understand." Proxima Midnight nodded, then followed her husband's example and left without looking back.
Only a large number of Vanguards, the unhappy Black Dwarf, and Ebony Maw who was wondering what he was thinking were left.
...
"Pfft!"
General Dead Blade dived into the water with a dive, surrounded by a vanguard. Soon he saw the submarine mountain marked as the target. It looked ordinary, but the small submarine on standby told him that it was different.
With a swing of his legs, General Grievous quickly rushed to the target. Ignoring the requests of his vanguards to lead the way, he raised the battle blade in his hand and chopped down at the submarine.
The sharp battle blade passed through the submarine unhindered. After a short wait, the weathered submarine instantly broke into two halves, lost its kinetic energy, and turned into deep-sea garbage, floating toward the bottom of the sea.
'This way, the rats won't be able to escape.'
General Corvus Glaive changed his hand to hold the blade, and after a brief period of charging, he swung the blade towards the mountain again.
The sea water was briefly separated, and the invincible battle blade cut off the mountain, revealing a scene that did not belong to nature at all, a technological building that was obviously beyond the technology of the earth.
Because of the angle of the chop, General Grievous was unable to completely cut through the base. He only made a small incision, but it was enough for him to sneak in.
Although drowning the enemy with sea water is the best option, General Grievous is obviously not going to choose this easy option. Fighting the enemy is his favorite part of the battle.
General Grievous didn't like the tasteless thing of skipping the process and only seeing the tragic death of the prey. He wanted to personally catch those mice that wasted his time for a long time. Even if he didn't find the gems, he could use them to vent his anger.
Changing his knife-holding posture, General Grievous took the lead and rushed into the crack, with dozens of vanguards following behind him. He had subordinates but he explored the way by himself, which meant that he looked down on the creatures on the earth.
This is the confidence built up from the victories of the past two years. Just like what Ebony Maw said before, they have never lost a battle since coming to Earth.
But today is clearly different.
General Corvus Glaive rushed into the base. Without the obstruction of the sea water, he immediately started to mock the living people in the base, even though General Corvus Glaive didn't see them at all.
But after leaving the sea, what greeted him was not air, but an iron fist.
"boom!"
With a dull thud, General Grim Reaper, with stars in his eyes, fell to the ground helplessly like a sparrow hitting the glass.
Guess who that General Darkseid was not invited to participate in the Marvel movie.
