Chapter 55 The Targeted Spider
Chapter 55 The Targeted Spider
"The other party's goal should be some kind of experiment."
"Experiment?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in her palm in confusion.
"Is it an experiment to turn people into lizardmen?"
"It would be great if that were the case." Yang Le touched his chin.
"If they simply chose Peter as a test subject for their potion, then this would be innocent and cute, but my brain tells me that things are obviously not that simple."
"I'd like to hear more about it." Gwen shrugged and prepared to watch Yang Le's performance.
"The timing of her turning Peter into a lizard man is interesting. If she was just testing her invention, she wouldn't have needed to wait until Peter woke up, but she waited anyway. Why did she do that? It's very likely that she'll be exposed."
Yang Le's words made Gwen fall into deep thought. Indeed, it was too unreasonable to do so.
"Is there a possibility that the other party is deliberately giving us time to react?" Yang Le raised a finger and put forward a hypothesis.
"You mean, the other party wants us to discover Peter's disappearance?" Gwen looked at Yang Le in disbelief.
"But why did Cindy Moon do this?"
"That's what I'm going to talk about next, Gwen." Yang Le's expression was serious. Gwen didn't know how she could tell the seriousness in that frog face, but she just felt it.
"The other party might be coming for you."
Gwen was surprised, "Me? But why?"
"You are not an ordinary girl now, Spider-Woman." Yang Le pointed out Gwen's other identity.
Gwen asked, "My spider powers?"
"That's right." Yang Le nodded. "It seems the other party knows your true identity, and may have known it from the beginning."
"But how did she know that?" Gwen exclaimed, scratching her head and suddenly having an idea.
"The spider that bit me?"
"Yes, maybe that spider was prepared by Cindy Moon for herself, and you are a lucky person who accidentally stole it."
This reminded Yang Le of the immortal cultivation novels he had read before. Gwen was exactly like the protagonist who stole other people's luck without knowing it.
Gwen still didn't quite understand and asked, "But what does this have to do with the other party turning Peter into a lizard man?"
"Revenge, plus a little experiment." Yang Le really liked the feeling of having every question answered. His little brain worked very fast, and he could answer any question Gwen asked.
"Let's assume that the previous conjectures are correct. If I were Cindy Moon, since the damage is done, I might as well make the best use of it.
Let this lucky guy be my experimental subject, and I will secretly observe and record everything. The lizard man may be her stage test of your ability.
As for choosing Peter, it might be just to disgust you and vent my frustrations. It's like killing two birds with one stone. If I can also test the lizard potion, it would be killing three birds with one stone."
"If that's the case, I will definitely teach her a lesson after finding her." Gwen said viciously.
"I think his choice is very effective. It makes me want to get to know her." Yang Le expressed a different opinion.
Gwen narrowed her eyes and suddenly turned her palm. Yang Le's body turned over and was about to fall to the ground, but Gwen pinched his feet and hung him upside down in the air.
"Wow! What's wrong, Gwen?" Yang Le exclaimed.
"You might as well guess for yourself, genius, guess why I'm angry." Gwen said, and shook her arms gently. Yang Le let out bursts of screams as her arms swung up and down.
"Omnitrix! Untransform! Untransform quickly!" "Roger that."
After the ruthless electronic sound, a white light flashed, and Yang Le turned back into a human.
But his posture did not change, he was still upside down, but because of the height difference, his head was tilted and in close contact with the ground.
"Sorry Gwen, I apologize for what I said just now." Because his cheek was pressed to the ground, Yang Le's speech was a little unclear.
"The little warrior's race, the Gavins, are so smart. They see things differently than we do, so their emotional intelligence is relatively low. Wow!"
Gwen suddenly let go of her hand, and Yang Le was caught off guard and fell to the ground.
"I understand, but I have to impose a little punishment. Is that okay with you?" Gwen said proudly, crossing her arms across her chest.
"No problem." Yang Le raised his hand and made an OK gesture.
"So what should we do next?" Gwen walked to Yang Le, stretched out a hand and pulled him up.
"Are you going to investigate that radioactive spider company?"
"Of course we have to check." Yang Le dusted himself off. "That's our only clue, and it's one they can't hide even if they want to."
--split line--
Norman Osborn walked into an abandoned building with a gloomy face.
His trip was very low-key. Not only did he dress in disguise, he also drove an ordinary car that was not in his name. It was obvious that he did not want people to know his whereabouts.
After entering the building, I met a security guard who was on patrol. I revealed my identity and was led to an ordinary room by the other party. Under the other party's gaze, I walked in alone.
Norman entered the room and skillfully walked to a wardrobe. He opened the door and found that there was not clothes inside, but a passage leading down.
Without hesitation, Norman walked in.
After walking for about 3.4 or minutes, he finally arrived at a rusty red iron gate. He swiped his card on the access control panel next to the iron gate, and the iron gate opened and he walked in.
As soon as he entered the door, he saw the person he had been thinking about day and night. The person had his back to him and was standing in front of the laboratory table, busy with something.
"This is really strange." The man didn't even turn his head, but he knew who was coming.
"I remember you were here just now, Mr. Norman."
"Then I guess you know why I came here this time, Cindy Moon, without me having to tell you." Norman's voice was low and hoarse, sounding like a devil's threat.
"Then you should also know my answer." Cindy Moon seemed not to understand the threat in Norman's tone.
"boom!"
Norman kicked the table next to him. Judging from the way he kicked, he must be a veteran.
Norman roared, "Cindy Moon! I trusted you so much that I even exceeded the agreed time. I still spared no effort to support you, but this is how you repay me!"
"Don't be silly, Norman." Cindy finally turned around, her delicate face full of disdain.
"We each get what we need. There's no such thing as a nauseating favor. You give me money, and I do things for you. Even if you need me, I don't have to choose you."
