Chapter 53: An Extra Brain

"We're here, right here." Yang Le pointed to the warehouse in front.

Gwen glanced at the half-collapsed warehouse and said, "Wow, the owner of the warehouse must have been desperately trying to find you to claim compensation."

"Then he should go find the person who turned Peter into a lizard man." Yang Le walked towards the ruins first and said without looking back.

It was already the next morning, and as agreed last night, Yang Le brought Gwen, who had skipped homecoming, to the warehouse where Peter had turned into a lizard man, ready to use the Clock King's ability to solve the mystery.

Although it didn't mean much, the warehouse owner still closed the rickety door. Looking at this building with leaks on all sides and the door that represents the warehouse owner's stubbornness, what can I say? There is a kind of beauty of the Maginot Line, which is inexplicably moving.

Wiping away the non-existent tears, Yang Le stretched out his hand towards the door, ready to give the warehouse owner the most basic respect.

"Crack, bang!"

With Yang Le's slight force, the crumbling door completed its mission and fell to the ground, raising a cloud of dust.

"It's better to have too much debt than to be a burden." Yang Le shrugged and walked into the warehouse through the door.

"Keep watch for me Gwen!"

"Ok!"

Yang Le shouted towards the door, and after receiving Gwen's response, he began to transform with confidence.

A flash of white light appeared, and the Clock King appeared again.

"OK, now let's see who is doing the bad thing." After rubbing his hands, the spring on the Clock King's head began to rotate counterclockwise at an extremely fast speed, looking like Doraemon's bamboo dragonfly.

Immediately afterwards, the clockwork shot out a white light, covering the entire warehouse. It was as if the reverse button was pressed on the entire warehouse, slowly returning to the state it was in when the crime occurred.

This is one of the abilities of the Clock King. To put it simply, it turns time into film and then plays it back with the spring above his head. It does not really mean that time goes backwards.

Looking at the familiar chair in front of him, Yang Le knew that he had stepped back just in time.

Yang Le turned around and looked towards the door, and sure enough, he saw Peter, who was sleeping soundly, being dragged in from outside the warehouse.

The man who was dragging Peter was thin and about the same height as Gwen. He was wearing a loose hoodie that covered his face tightly and had a sports-style shoulder backpack on his back.

The two men were getting closer and closer to Yang Le, until the masked man passed through Yang Le's body. Yang Le turned around and saw the masked man put Peter on the chair.

The masked man took out a rope from his backpack and began to tie up Peter. From this angle, Yang Le could just see the masked man's obscured face.

Sure enough, the face under the hat was wearing a mask, and Yang Le could only see half of the other person's face clearly. The person had black hair and black... no, it should be brown eyes, and was somewhat beautiful. It should be a girl.

This half of the face gave Yang Le a familiar feeling. It should be a character from Marvel, and a character he was familiar with.

It's just that he really couldn't recognize who this was. It's not his fault. After all, Marvel is a big company with countless cartoonists, and each one has a different style.

Some artists don’t even know what character they are drawing if they don’t mark it.

This makes him always feel like a familiar stranger when he reads comics and sees characters who are not in uniform.

"A female character with black hair and brown eyes..." Yang Le touched his metal chin, confidently thinking about who this character was.

What we know now is that this character's kidnapping of Peter wasn't a spur-of-the-moment decision; to live up to her identity, she must have had some kind of premeditated plan. As Yang Le pondered, time continued to flow. Peter had woken up and was struggling desperately. The masked man pulled a syringe from his backpack and stabbed him, not even disinfecting it. It was unsanitary at all.

After doing all this, the stranger took a few steps back, hid in the shadow of the warehouse, and watched Peter's changes quietly.

Then he appeared as the Flash Star, and then the Diamond God fought against the Lizard Man, and the masked man slipped away quietly while he was fighting with Peter.

Obviously, there was no useful information here. Seeing this, Yang Le removed his ability, and the warehouse became a ruin again. A hint of gold also appeared at the door of the warehouse.

"Is it over?" Gwen asked again when she saw Yang Le nodded.

"So, any findings?"

"I saw the person behind this, but she was wearing a hat and a mask, so only half of her face was visible. She must be a woman." Yang Le released his transformation and walked out the door. "She has black hair and brown eyes, and is about the same size as you."

"How is it? Do you have any impression of such a person?"

Gwen thought for a moment, shook her head, and said, "It's too common. There are many people who meet this condition in Midtown High School, not to mention the whole of New York."

Yang Le was just asking casually. It would be best if he could get a clue, but it didn't matter if he didn't.

Black hair, female, Yang Le's brain began to search with these two keywords, but he couldn't think of anything useful for a while.

If only I had a few more brains, I might be smarter, etc. A few more brains.

"That's right!" Yang Le suddenly had an idea and pulled the puzzled Gwen back into the warehouse.

"When it comes to having more brains and intelligence, it really depends on that guy." Yang Le returned to the warehouse and excitedly started the Omnitrix. After finding the alien hero he wanted, he gently pressed the transformation button.

The dazzling white light dissipated, and a short and thin figure appeared in front of Gwen.

"Little surprise soldier!" Yang Le cheered with his hands raised high, and then said with a look of disgust.

"Oh, that action just now was so stupid, it really fits my identity as a human being."

"Wow, Habib, you've become smaller." Gwen squatted down, looked at Yang Le in the little warrior state curiously, and even stretched out her finger to poke him.

"I thought your aliens were all strong."

"Oh! Oh my God, stop! Stop!" Yang Le resisted Gwen's clutches.

"Don't confuse the little warriors with those muscle-types. They are the smartest race in the universe. Even the famous idiots in this race are many times more capable than scientists on Earth! Besides, haven't you seen the spirit monsters before?"

"Oh yes, I forgot about him!" After Yang Le reminded her, Gwen remembered the little red goblin.

"Your equipment is all made by elves!" Yang Le looked at Gwen in disbelief.

"Ahem! Let's not talk about that for now." Gwen coughed awkwardly.

"So, your brain in this form is very smart, right? And you want to rely on this smart brain to lead us to find the answer?"
