Chapter 488 Robert Reynolds
"I still feel strange?"

Susan was talking quietly to Reed beside her with a normal expression.

"From what I understand about you, you should have pretended not to see the pedestrian and sped past him, instead of parking next to a complete stranger. It turns out your car ran out of gas."

"I just don't want any unexpected changes, Susan." There was a hint of helplessness in Reed's eyes. Who would have thought that the car would stop right next to that person? It was impossible not to take the other person with him.

"Maybe it's God's will." Susan winked playfully. Seeing that the usually well-prepared Reed was humiliated, she could still smile even now. She would remember this incident as a spiritual spice for a long time.

"I believe in Murphy's Law more than God," Reed replied unhappily.

"I don't really want to butt in on your conversation." Ben, who was carrying Johnny on his back, suddenly interrupted, causing the two people in front to look back at him.

"But please remember, we are running for our lives now, not on a honeymoon island."

"Go to hell, Ben." Susan cursed with a smile, and Reid gave his good brother a thumbs up, but changed it to the middle finger when Susan's eyes moved over.

"If we can't find the next car, my death may fall on your wedding anniversary." Johnny said weakly.

"Stay strong, Johnny." Susan could tell her brother was joking, so she responded casually. "Don't you always say you're the toughest man around? You said you wouldn't make a sound even if you got shot?"

"Did I say that? When?"

"When I was nine."

Johnny was speechless. He decided to save his energy and try to survive instead of wasting it on meaningless quarrels with Susan.

Looking at the good atmosphere among Reed and the other three, the hooded man, who had just joined in by chance because his car ran out of gas, felt a little out of place.

Even though he was carrying someone on his back, Ben, who had been a soldier and had never stopped exercising over the years, still had a lot of energy left. When he looked around, he noticed the hooded man who was following them silently.

Although Reed allowed the other party to follow him, the hooded man was very self-aware and kept a certain distance from Reed and others from beginning to end.

Ben saw the uneasiness of the hooded man. He had seen many recruits like the hooded man in the army. These kids were always ambitious at the beginning, but after a while, some of them would become anxious for various reasons.

Perhaps it was because of the missions and the battlefield, or perhaps it was because of the bullying in the army. Ben had counseled many such recruits, so he could see the uneasiness in the hooded man's heart at a glance.

"What's wrong, friend?" Ben slowly slowed down, shortening the distance between himself and the hooded man to one body length.

"What happened? You're almost left behind."

"Ah? Oh!" The hooded man obviously didn't expect Ben to come and talk to him. He was startled at first, and then he reacted and responded to Ben's words.

"It's okay, I'm just a little tired."

"I can tell, buddy." Johnny took a look at the hoodie draped over the hooded man. The clothes were full of wrinkles, and it was obvious that the man couldn't hold up the clothes. It was obvious from the wrinkles that he was thin.

"Except for drug addicts, I've never seen anyone thinner than you, ouch!"

Ben silently loosened his grip on Johnny's thigh, still smiling. "If you're tired, we can take a break. It's time for dinner now."

Like Ben said, it was already dusk, and if the giant uprising hadn't happened, he and Reed would probably be eating instant macaroni in their shared rental house.

Oh, no, today should be a little different, because Susan was supposed to come over to cook for the two of them tonight. This bureau is Ben's organization. Reed has been busy with his own cosmic research recently. Susan has complained to Ben more than once that she feels like she is single.

Ben, who is a friend and roommate, but actually more like Reed's mother, had no choice but to organize this party. She had originally planned for Reed and Susan to enjoy their own world, but she didn't expect this to happen.

"No, that's not necessary." The hooded man waved his hand. "It's more important to escape. I can still hold on. Don't worry about me."

Seeing that the other party insisted, Ben didn't know what to say. Just as he was about to say a few words of comfort, he suddenly thought of something.

"By the way, friend, we still don't know what your name is. My name is Ben Grimm." Ben shook Johnny who was about to fall asleep.

"This guy's name is Johnny. The two people in front, the girl is Johnny's sister Susan, and the man is Susan's boyfriend Reid."

Afraid that the hooded man would resist, Ben first told him the names of his group. Seeing this, the hooded man hesitated for a while and then said.

"Robert Reynolds, just call me Robert."

After exchanging names, Robert was obviously no longer as restrained as he was at the beginning. He would respond to Ben and Johnny's conversation and was no longer at the back of the team. Instead, he was parallel to Ben.

"Ben is still the same," Susan said with a smile, noticing what was happening behind her. "He's still as gentle as ever, as if he hasn't changed since high school."

Reed did not comment on this. Ben was his best friend. Since they met, except for the few years when Ben was in the army, they had almost always been together. They probably knew each other better than he knew Susan.

Reed suddenly stopped, and Susan was surprised. But before she could ask anything, Reed started walking again. Susan then realized that there was a car in good condition on the road that Reed had to pass.

Reed smashed the car window as before, and the car alarm sounded. Reed opened the car door like a habitual thief, then sat in the driver's seat and started operating. After a few seconds, the car alarm stopped, followed by the roar of the engine.

"Everyone, get on board," Reed waved at the group. "We have plenty of gas this time, enough for us to get out of New York City."

"Great!" Johnny said, bracing himself. "I thought I'd be sleeping in a city full of giants tonight."

Ben also smiled. Carrying a person for such a long time would make even an iron man feel tired, let alone him. But while he was happy, he did not forget to call Robert beside him.

"Come on Robert, we have a car."

"biu!"

A strange sound came from a distance, and all the hairs on Ben's body stood up. Before his brain even understood what was happening, his body had already made the decision for him.

Ben subconsciously lunged forward and quickly hid behind an overturned car. Johnny was almost thrown behind the car and then pressed to the ground.

"There's a sniper! Take cover!"
