Chapter 447: Super Soldier Beyond Hyperion

Chapter 447: Super Soldier Beyond Hyperion
After confirming that Howard had really left, Bruce swept aside the extra information on the desk and took out the truly valuable things he had hidden inside. Looking at the thick bound volume, Bruce smiled gently.

"It's not your turn yet." Bruce said softly, not noticing a slender figure quietly approaching from behind.

"Sentinel...? What is this?"

A familiar sound rang in his ears. It was the heavenly sound that he had never tired of hearing before, but now, in Bruce's unprepared ears, it sounded like a demon from hell coming to take his life.

"Wow!" Bruce yelled, and the bound book in his hand fell to the ground without being held firmly. He even lunged forward, knocking over the table in front of him, and the documents on it flew up, slowly falling like snowflakes from the sky, and slowly scattered all over the ground, spilling the cold coffee on it.

"Oh my God! Are you okay, Bruce?" Betty didn't expect her boyfriend to react like this. She hurried over and pulled Bruce up from the overturned table.

"My waist!" Bruce supported his waist that had hit the table, and stood up with a grimace with the help of Betty. Seeing the brown coffee stain on the white paper, he ignored his painful waist and frantically fell on the documents to search.

Seeing Bruce's panic-stricken face, Betty knew that she was in trouble, and it was very likely a big trouble, so she hurried to Bruce's side to help him.

Thanks to General Ross's education, Betty was able to handle things calmly. She stopped Bruce's flustered behavior, picked out all the documents stained by coffee to prevent other documents from getting wet, and carefully separated the documents that had been wet, laying them out one by one on the open space.

"found it!"

When Bruce's surprised voice came, Betty dropped the work at hand and returned to Bruce. When she looked carefully, she found that what Bruce was holding in his hand was indeed the bound volume with "Sentinel" written on the surface that she had just seen.

"I'm so sorry, Bruce." Betty immediately admitted her mistake. "I'm the same way with other people at home, but they've never been scared by me, so I didn't notice it. I'm so sorry."

Bruce also knew that although Betty was responsible for this matter, he couldn't blame her entirely. After all, this was a habit she had developed since she was a child.

Betty's father, General Ross, became a general based on his real military achievements. He came back alive after a round in Shura Field. His observation of the surrounding environment must be far superior to that of ordinary people. It is naturally difficult for Betty to scare him, and his brother Mark is even more difficult. His other name, Hyperion, is enough to explain everything.

Bruce, knowing all this, actually had no intention of blaming Betty, not to mention that nothing really important had happened, so it was even less likely that he would get angry. However, he still had to give her a proper reminder, all for his own good.

"Just don't do that next time." Bruce held his glasses up. "You have to understand, Betty, I'm just a scholar who spends time in the lab. I'm not as sharp as your brother and your father."

"I won't do that next time." Betty stuck out her tongue and looked curiously into Bruce's arms. "What is this thing that makes you care so much? I'm almost jealous."

"This thing concerns our future." Bruce said seriously. Seeing that Betty was even more curious, he had no choice but to hand the notebook to her.

"What the hell is this?" Betty took the notebook and opened it immediately. But the words inside hit her head like a boxer's fist, making her dizzy and confused. What is this? Am I not a top student at Cambridge University? Why can't I understand it at first glance?
"This is the super soldier serum that General Ross asked me to develop." Bruce explained when he saw that Betty didn't understand.

"Is it the plan for the second generation of Captain America?" Betty closed the notebook, shutting out the knowledge that was trying to destroy her will.

The last time she went to call her father for dinner, she accidentally overheard such a plan outside his room. Her father criticized her severely at the time, but later told her a little bit of the details, telling her that this was a plan made by the government to boost public confidence, and wanted to use the star effect to inspire citizens and soldiers. He also told her not to leak it out in advance.

Of course Betty wouldn't tell anyone. She was forced to eavesdrop, and she wasn't the brainless rich girl in TV dramas. If Bruce hadn't been involved in the plan, she wouldn't even tell him.

"Yes, you know, the gap between our identities is a bit too big." Bruce smiled bitterly.

"You know our family doesn't care about Bruce," Betty frowned in dissatisfaction. "Besides, if your talent could be converted into wealth, it would be me who is unworthy of you, so stop saying these useless words."

"I know, Betty, but I don't want your family to suffer from rumors because of me," Bruce said hastily to comfort Betty. "You know, those bigwigs may appear glamorous on the surface, but they're full of shady tricks behind the scenes. General Ross wants to run for president, right? I can't be a burden to him right now."

Betty was very touched by the fact that Bruce started working hard for his family before marrying her. She was careful and did not dwell on it, but changed the subject to the bound volume in her hand.

"So this is the future you came up with?"

"Indeed, this 'Sentinel' is the future I've poured all my energy into," Bruce nodded solemnly. "Simply put, it's an enhanced version of the Super Soldier Serum. It's not perfect yet, but rest assured I'll have it completed before the election, and General Ross will surely be able to select it successfully by then."

Although she knew her boyfriend was very capable, Betty still found it incredible. How amazing would an invention be that could influence an election?

"Is this true? Can this thing be so powerful?"

"Of course, if my calculations are correct, then whoever takes Sentinel will surpass your brother Hyperion!"

Betty looked at her boyfriend's high-spirited appearance and really couldn't bear to undermine his self-confidence. To surpass her brother? How could that be possible? She had seen Hyperion before, no, he was recognized as the strongest superhero in the world.

Even now, the video of Hyperion removing a tree to facilitate road construction is still played from time to time on TV. That video scared off many scoundrels and caused the crime rate in the United States to drop sharply for several months.
