Chapter 445 General Ross and Bruce Banner

Chapter 445 General Ross and Bruce Banner

"You're lying again, Mark." Betty curled her lips and didn't believe what her brother Hyperion said at all.

"Really." Hyperion nodded seriously. "I don't use my abilities all the time at home."

Looking at the fighting brother and sister, the middle-aged man showed a rare kind smile. Just as he was about to speak, the mobile phone on the table rang first. Without the middle-aged man reminding, the brother and sister fell silent.

"Hello, it's me." After the call was connected, the middle-aged man once again returned to his initial serious look, as if the fatherly look just now was an illusion.

"Okay, I understand." After listening to the phone for a while, the middle-aged man hung up. Just as he raised his head, Betty's words came to him.

"It seems that the busy General Ross will not be able to dine with his family today."

Ross gave a wry smile, shook his head, and said, "Don't mock me, Betty. I told you that if there's nothing special, I'll still have dinner with you."

"That's good." Betty stuck out her tongue. Hyperion reached out and took Betty off him, patted her head and said.

"Go to the restaurant first, Betty. I have something to tell my father."

"What's going on? Why are you being so mysterious?" Betty pouted. She had just wanted to share her wonderful day with her boyfriend with her father and brother, but it seemed like she could only do it at the dinner table.

He pinched Hyperion's arm in revenge, but found that he couldn't move his muscles at all. He had no choice but to give up. He rolled his eyes at Hyperion and walked out of the study, closing the door behind him.

Ross glanced at Hyperion, who immediately understood and glanced behind the study door and said, "Betty is indeed gone."

It's no wonder that Ross is wary of his daughter, because Betty does have a history of eavesdropping, and even when it comes to her own family, there are some things that Betty shouldn't know.

It's like the super soldier program. Even Hyperion only knows a little bit about it. After all, it is a human experiment and it is too inhumane. With Hyperion's current mentality, he cannot know these things, otherwise he is likely to collapse.

"Tell me what's going on." Ross leaned back in his chair, allowing himself a rare moment of relaxation. "Glenn told me when you were getting changed. He said your suit would be in tatters when you arrived. That's quite unusual."

Hyperion's battle suit is not some common item made by a tailor shop. It is a composite material made of new materials developed by Stark Industries and some auxiliary materials. Even if Hyperion wears it to break through the atmosphere, he will not be damaged.

In addition, Hyperion uses cosmic powers for protection. In General Ross's opinion, the only ones who can be afraid of Hyperion pushing them to this extent are probably the mutant leaders Magneto and the Sorcerer Supreme.

Hyperion smiled bitterly, then told Ross everything that happened today. Ross's expression changed from relaxed at the beginning to solemn now.

"Can I beat you so hard that you can't fight back?" Ross tapped the table. "Are you kidding me?"

"No father." Hyperion shook his head. "Like I said, that Kryptonian's strength is indeed superior to mine."

"If I hadn't experienced it myself, I probably wouldn't have believed it myself. This is the first time in my life that I've encountered a creature that completely overwhelms me. I'm like a child in front of it. I can feel that it could knock me over with just one hand."

After hearing Hyperion's description, Ross paused in thought, only to come to his senses when the electronic clock in the study signaled it was time for dinner. "Don't think about this for now, my child," Ross stood up, walked over to Hyperion, and placed his hand on his shoulder.

"I know you've been hit hard, but you must cheer up. If the enemy is truly so powerful and malicious, we, no, humans, can only rely on you to resist him."

"I know, father." Hyperion's eyes were firm. He was indeed shocked at first, but when he thought of the responsibility that his father had instilled in him since he was a child, he stood up again.

As the son of General Ross, he has a certain understanding of the strength of the military. It is indeed as General Ross said that humans do not have the power to stop the Kryptonians.

"Okay, don't think too much about it." Ross patted Hyperion's shoulder encouragingly. "Let's go have dinner first. Betty will be worried soon."

"Okay father."

When Hyperion thought of his Betty, he smiled gently again. Ross couldn't help but remind him when he saw Hyperion's look.

"You're spoiling Betty a little too much. She's already a college student, but she's still so lawless. I don't know who will be able to stand her in the future."

"I remember Betty already has a boyfriend, and she told us about it," Hyperion reminded.

"I know that scientist," Ross sighed. "He's certainly talented, but I don't know what Betty sees in him. He's so timid and spends all day in the lab."

"It's better than living a mediocre life, living a life of drunkenness and dreams." Hyperion said with a smile. "I remember his name was..."

"Bruce Banner."

A young man wearing glasses and a white coat raised his head from the research table and held his glasses to see who was calling him. He saw a middle-aged man in a suit and tie at the door of the laboratory.

"Oh, it's you, Mr. Stark." Bruce rolled his eyes upwards. "Good morning, I just got a cup of coffee here. If you don't mind, you can have a cup first and then I'll come see you after I finish what I'm doing."

"It's evening now, Bruce." Howard shook his head helplessly and looked down at the coffee on the table. Sure enough, there was not even a trace of heat.

"Really?" Bruce scratched his head. "Looks like I missed breakfast and lunch. If Betty finds out, she'll scold me again."

"Honestly, Bruce, I'm curious about how you managed to attract General Ross's daughter." Howard looked at Bruce, whose hair was like a bird's nest. He thought it was a miracle that such a science and engineering guy could talk to a girl. Who would have thought that he could also seduce his immediate superior's daughter?

"I don't know." Bruce straightened his drooping hair. "Maybe it's just like Betty said, I have some unique temperament?"

At this point, even Bruce himself didn't believe it and added a question at the end of the sentence. Howard, who didn't want to dwell on this matter any further, changed the subject.

"Any progress on the Super Soldier Serum?"
