Chapter 29 Spider-Man's Treatment
Chapter 29 Spider-Man's Treatment
"Hi! Guys!" As soon as Peter opened the door, he saw Gwen holding a bag of takeout in each hand and greeting him with a smile.
"I brought you some delicious burgers."
"Thanks Gwen, oh, this is heavier than I thought." Peter quickly took the takeaway from Gwen. As soon as he got the takeaway, Peter's waist bent a little. Now he couldn't lift his hands at all and could only hang it on his shoulders.
"Forget it, strong man." Gwen looked at the embarrassed Peter, took the takeaway back, and then strode into the house.
"You need to practice more, Peter, or you might not even be able to arm wrestle Mary Jane."
Peter looked at Gwen who was lifting the weight with ease, raised his arms and made a strongman's pose, then looked at his arms that were barely moving, sighed, and slowly followed.
When Peter returned to the living room, Yang Le and Gwen were already there, each holding their own portion and feasting on it.
Peter sat down, glanced at his own copy, then looked at Gwen's copy and couldn't help but speak.
"Gwen, your appetite has gotten too big."
Gwen, who was enjoying a delicious burger, froze, her little brain quickly thinking of a countermeasure.
"Is...is there?" Gwen smiled awkwardly.
"Maybe it's because of the band training?" Yang Le said suddenly.
"Yes! Band!" Gwen nodded firmly. "Peter, you don't know, band training is very physically demanding."
Seeing that Peter was about to continue asking questions, Yang Le on the side quickly spoke up to change the subject.
"Everyone's eating in the living room. Do you want to watch something?"
Yang Le picked up the remote control beside him and turned on the TV. As soon as he turned it on, the news program was broadcasting.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Bugle Express. I am your old friend Jameson." J. Jonah Jameson sat behind the seat and made the opening remarks seriously.
"I heard that Jameson is a very mean boss. I'm sure it must be very hard to work under him." Peter said with certainty.
"Indeed, no one should have a better say in this matter than Peter Parker." Yang Le ate his burger calmly, watching Peter, who didn't know Jameson, complain about Jameson's harshness. This feeling was really subtle.
"A cult has recently emerged in New York that specifically deceives young people into joining."
"They only target teenagers. What a despicable cult." Gwen frowned and said with disgust.
Yang Le, who was standing by, also nodded in agreement and said bitterly, "I don't know who the leader of this organization is. If I find out, I'll have to hang him on a street lamp."
“Members of these groups call themselves the Four Handed Overlord Fan Club.”
"puff!"
"Cough, cough, cough!"
"Are you okay?" Peter looked worriedly at Yang Le and Gwen who choked at the same time.
"It's okay, I just choked on my Coke."
"I'm fine too. I was just scared by the harpy."
The two people with subtle expressions looked at each other secretly, and then silently cleaned up the dirty table.
Peter looked at the two people in sync suspiciously, and at the same time he became more and more certain that the two must be together.
"I'm the cult leader! How come I didn't know?" Yang Le felt his mind boggling, and he could only patiently continue watching. Jameson's figure faded from the TV, and a video began playing. In the video, a reporter was directing the camera to film a group of teenagers wearing T-shirts emblazoned with the image of the Four-Handed Overlord. They were gathered together, seemingly discussing something, and the reporter had selected a boy for questioning.
Reporter: "Excuse me, who are you and what are you doing here?"
Boy: "We are the Four-Handed Bully Club, and today is our club's first event."
Reporter: "What kind of activity is this?"
Boy: "Something about wrestling, like WWE."
Reporter: "Wrestling? You guys?"
Boy: "That's right. Actually, we do more than just wrestling. We do all kinds of physical activities. That's the purpose of our club. We learn from the powerful Four-Handed Overlord."
Reporter: "Excuse me, do you worship that guy? That four-handed monster?"
Boy: "FKY! How dare you say that to him! Guys, this guy is insulting our idol!"
Afterwards, amidst waves of cursing, the recording ended, and the screen was given to Jameson again. As Yang Le expected, Jameson began to reprimand the Four-Handed Overlord and the club.
"This is simply brainwashing! That red-skinned four-armed freak brainwashed these poor teenagers and made them attack their compatriots. We should find that guy and kill him! It's simply..."
The TV screen suddenly went black, and Jameson's roar stopped abruptly. Peter and Gwen looked at Yang Le who was holding the remote control at the same time.
"Isn't he too noisy?" Yang Le pretended to be calm and put down the remote control in his hand. In fact, if you look closely, you can see that he is sweating profusely.
"So this is what Spider-Man feels like." Yang Le wiped the sweat from his forehead without saying a word. Jameson's mouth was indeed well-deserved.
"Speaking of the Four-Handed Overlord, I actually want to say thank you to him. If it weren't for him, I would have died." Peter said with emotion. Suddenly, Peter seemed to think of something and asked Gwen.
"By the way, Gwen, isn't your dad tracking down the Four-Armed Tyrant? Any progress?"
Gwen, suddenly questioned, swallowed the burger in her mouth before speaking, "There's not much progress. My dad hasn't mentioned this much lately, but he seems to have found some information about the terrorist."
"What terrorists?" Yang Le asked curiously.
"It's the one who attacked the jewelry store a month ago." Gwen crumpled up the hamburger paper in her hand and threw it into the trash can, then thought for a moment before continuing.
"I overheard it, too. My dad was on the phone with someone saying that the terrorist seemed to have been taken away by some gang. I didn't hear what gang it was, but it seemed like it involved a lot of people. I've never seen my dad look so upset."
"If it involves a big issue, won't Uncle George be in danger?" Yang Le was a little worried. After all, it was a terrorist organization in American comics, which made people worry.
Gwen said angrily, "I told him not to investigate, but he scolded me harshly and there was nothing I could do."
Peter comforted him, "It's okay. Uncle George has been working on the front lines and has been through hundreds of battles. Besides, in today's society, no gang would dare to kill a police officer."
"I hope so." Faced with Peter's comfort, Gwen could only choose to believe it.
---Dividing line---
"Boss, you called me?"
"I need you to do something." Matt Murdock put a photo on the table.
"This man's name is George Stacy, and I need you to kill him."
