Chapter 27 Gwen Doesn't Want to Be Spider-Man
Chapter 27 Gwen Doesn't Want to Be Spider-Man
"Spider-Man?" Gwen frowned at the logo. "It sounds like the code name of a superhero."
"This is indeed a code name. In the multiverse, there are many creatures who have experienced similar things to you, Gwen. They have also gained spider abilities, and then, with their super powers, most of them have become superheroes."
Yang Le pinched a corner of the spider totem in each hand, and then pulled it. The spider totems were pulled out in a row like paper-cut figures.
"My mind is a little confused." Gwen couldn't help rubbing her head. "You suddenly said something about parallel universes and superheroes. I'm just an ordinary high school student. I don't want to be a superhero."
"This is normal, Gwen." Yang Le put away the spider totem in his hand, walked up to Gwen and comforted her.
"No one is forcing you to become anything. I'm not telling you this to make you take on any responsibility. I just want you to understand your abilities."
"I just want to return to normal now." Gwen looked up at Yang Le hopefully.
"Have you any ideas, harpy?"
"I actually have a solution to this problem." Yang Le raised his left hand and showed the Omnitrix to Gwen again.
"This watch-like thing is called the Omnitrix. Don't be fooled by its unassuming appearance. It is the most powerful invention in the world."
"Is this the transformation device that allows you to transform into a four-armed, uh... four-armed Overlord?" Gwen looked curiously at the Omnitrix in Yang Le's left hand. "Can it solve my problem?"
Yang Le nodded. "The Omnitrix's primary ability is to scan and preserve the DNA of intelligent species, allowing me to mimic them. But it also has a secondary ability, which is to repair damaged DNA."
From this point of view, Omnitrix is indeed the nemesis of those mutants in Marvel. No matter what abilities you have, as long as you are a mutant, I can get rid of them for you. Therefore, what Yang Le is least afraid of are those mutants who destroy the world.
"So it can turn me back into a normal person?" Gwen seemed a little impatient, and for a moment she got very close to Yang Le. "Then what are you waiting for? Let's get started."
"Don't worry, Gwen, I won't run away." Yang Le leaned his upper body back. The distance between them was too close. He could even see Gwen's eyelashes. Yang Le reached out and held down the excited Gwen and said seriously.
"But I need to be sure, Gwen, do you really want to lose your super powers? You know, once the Omnitrix repairs your genes, your super powers will never come back."
After being asked this by Yang Le, Gwen began to think calmly. She had only thought about the inconveniences brought by the ability before, but after thinking about it carefully, she realized that if used properly, this power could also bring her a lot of convenience. At least her strength had indeed increased a lot.
"Anyway, I think more skills mean more ways out. There's a saying in China that goes, 'It's better to have more skills than less.' It's like money, you can never have too much." Yang Le tried to persuade Gwen who was in deep thought.
"Anyway, I'm always here. If you don't want it anymore, just come find me."
"I think what you said makes sense." Gwen also agreed with Yang Le's point of view, and looked at her hands with a worried look on her face.
"Just be more careful next time. I almost demolished my own house this morning. I can't even imagine what would happen if I used this power on someone else."
"I also have a solution for this." Yang Le took something out of his shirt pocket like Doraemon and threw it to Gwen.
Gwen took it and saw that it was a black smart bracelet.
"This is a super bracelet. With it, you can defeat any sun monster." Yang Le said seriously, words that Gwen couldn't understand.
Seeing Gwen looking at him with a loving, retarded look, Yang Le cleared his throat and pretended nothing had happened before continuing his introduction. "This bracelet has an output limiter. If you wear it, you won't have to worry about getting into trouble in your daily life."
"But this color is so ugly." Gwen looked at the black bracelet in her hand with disdain. "Pure black doesn't suit me at all."
"You can adjust the color in the settings. The bracelet is black by default." Yang Le took the bracelet, opened the settings, brought out the color wheel, and turned the bracelet to white.
"I like this function." Gwen looked at the bracelet that turned white with joy and put it on her hand with satisfaction. When the bracelet was put on, it first lit up with white light with circuit board patterns, and then adjusted to the size that fit Gwen's wrist.
"You can set your own output standards. Considering your living convenience, I've set it to the standard for an average adult male."
After hearing what Yang Le said, Gwen tried to lift the table beside her. She was surprised to find that the table that she could easily lift with one hand could now only be lifted with two hands.
"But Gwen, even though you have this bracelet to help you, I think you still have to learn to control your abilities. Otherwise, it would be terrible if the bracelet breaks one day." Yang Le reminded.
"You're always right, harpy." Gwen nodded, then turned to look at Yang Le slyly. "So you'll help me, right?"
"Of course, after all, I don't want to become a harpy." Yang Le imagined the scene and couldn't help but shudder.
"Are you saying something attacked you?" Peggy Carter, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., stared at the agent who reported to her with her only remaining eye.
"Yes, Chief." The agent still looked shaken. "I just felt a chill and then a severe blow to the head, and I passed out. My other two companions did the same."
"Director, actually about ten minutes before they were attacked, Lisa and I also felt a chill, but we were not attacked." Melinda, who was standing aside, also shared her experience.
"I had my doubts, but they didn't attack us because there were too many of us."
"Did you see the attacker?" Paige asked.
"No." Melinda shook her head. "Our entire team didn't spot the attacker. We suspect they have some sort of long-range attack method, or perhaps even some invisibility ability."
"Can you guess the attacker's purpose?"
"The purpose is still unclear, but investigators have indicated that exhibits and some equipment from the expo are missing."
Melinda handed the document in her hand to Peggy, who glanced at it and frowned.
"The lost items are all over the place, with little connection to each other, and most of them are scrapped waste. Just looking at this report, I have no idea what the other party's purpose is." Melinda looked a little annoyed. She especially hated the feeling of having no place to put her efforts.
"Calm down, Mei. We can't rule out the possibility that the other party took a bunch of irrelevant things in order to conceal their tracks." Peggy returned the report to Melinda.
"Let the intelligence department investigate further and don't miss any clues."
